I guess it must be something to do with the fact that when I was growing up, I used to read comics (really cheesy kid's comics) which featured characters with similarly cartoony features. But I always liked this style of rather chunky, bold art.
And I know someone who would really love that Yoshi picture... My buddy 'Beav' loved yoshi as a kid, but grew up to be the kind of guy that your drawing depicts.... I think this drawing would tickle his funny bone.
Cursed warrior monk/zombie!
I know I've posted this in my 'clichéd I'm new; topic, but I thought that this was relevant to both topics, so it's worth reposting it.

Quite a snazzy, jazzy, cartoony style. I like it!
I particularly like the way you draw facial expressions.
I've just posted some of my fantasy art characters in my 'Cliché I'm new topic'.... I don't think I'm really supposed to double-post the same picture in two different places on the art forum, so...
This machine was supposed to be really psychologically imposing. So I made it really spiky, with a hunched back and neck akin to a vulture, long, thin flensing blades for fingers, big, beady eyes and a generally quite skeletal, insectoid appearance.
Note the needle-like probiscus jutting out from it's mouth.... It uses that to drain it's victims of bodily fluids. I thought that a maybe vampiric robot would be quite a nice twist on the old vampire theme...
this next piece is of yet another of my evil robots.
this one was supposed to look like a more sophisticated machine... Like an aristocratic robot. But I didn't want to go for the whole stereotype of 'top hat and tails'. So instead, I gave him a weapon which wasn't quite as brutally efficient as the other killer-machines I've designed, but has a certain finesse to it.

Here is some more of my more recent art.....
This first one is called 'aquisition of an apprentice,' which is an illustration found in a story I wrote a long time ago, in which a 5,000 year old mage takes the sole survivor of a citywide fire as his apprentice. (It's supposed to look like a young girl of around twelve.)
I really like this piece because of it's sombre, dark mood.
One thing I didn't like about this drawing was that the little girl's hands look a bit flat.

oh, now that IS nice.
Good colours, good atmosphere, anatomically correct....
Yeah, a really nice, emotive piece.
His facial expression says : "You know, axe... Sometimes I think that you're the only one who understands me."

Will do! It should be finished quite soon, depending on how much time I have to work on it in the near future.
Hello everyone...
I've been liking most of the 3D art I've seen in this topic, so I thought I should stick in some of my own...
This is one of two characters from a short movie I'm working on. I'll be perfectly honest, I'm not a particularly brilliant animator (I started in about August), but this is the sort of stuff I'm making right now...
A short clip (five seconds or so) of this movie can be viewed on Youtube here:

Yeah, I admit that that drawing does have some pretty serious flaws, and I don't really remember what my excuse was, because it was several months ago, and I have the memory of a forgetful goldfish.
Anyway, thanks for pointing out the areas for improvement... It's how I learn!
This was the first comic in a short series I did for my friend's website.
Basically, it ran for about twenty five comics, and then sort of fizzled out, and the website eventually fell apart.

Thanks, man... I'll definitely check "Gimp" out...
In the meantime, here's one more drawing, of the same zombie huntress. There's some mild nudity in this picture, but all the 'relevant parts' are covered up, so I guess the 'only funny nudity allowed' rule could be bent a little in this case.... If not, just tell me to take it down.

One last one before I go to my Aikido lesson....
This picture was drawn on request for one of my friends.
She wanted a picture of a female zombie-fighter to use as her avatar in some forum or another, so I drew this for her...

This picture was a very rare thing.... A digitally coloured drawing by me.
Unfortunately, at the time of drawing, I didn't have access to any really good programs (such as photoshop), so I did this in a trial version of macromedia flash that I was trying out at the time.

Thank you, everyone for your comments and encouragement.
They're really appreciated.
Here's another piece of art, which is admittedly a little undynamic, but it was only ever intended as a 'design plan' for the character depicted. I'll post up some better pictures of this character later (when I get my scanner fixed).

I have made no plans to publish my work, and I really doubt that any publishers would be interested in it. Basically, humanity is almost extinct, and the world is ruled by evil, death-worshipping robots. I won't go into the details because that would take far too long, and it's getting late, and I'm very sleepy
Maybe I'll type them up another time, with some more of my artwork.
I'm sorry I have to multi-post here, but I can't think of any other way to put in more than one picture....
this second picture is of a sort of cursed soldier/zombie from the same book. It can be viewed at a higher resolution here:

Hello.
I've been using Newgrounds for a long time to watch flash movies, play flash games and listen to music, and I've finally gotten round to actually joining the site. Anyway, I thought I should start by posting some of my artwork up here for you all to see.
This picture is of a sort of Cyborg warrior that features in a book I wrote several years ago. It can be viewed at higher resolution here:
