Of course it'll work. Your version of flash won't, but all your .fla's/.as's etc. will.

Working Out
I started running about a year back. At the moment I run about three times a week, 2 times a good 7 miles, and once a week a somewhat faster 2 miles. I never really was a sporty kinda guy but I enjoy running a lot, besides I spend far too much time sitting on my ass all day. I'm planning to do half a marathon this summer, did a good 10 miles about a week ago, and that went pretty well, so I think I'll manage.

Ouch

I know, turns out they don't have a working Mac version either, so that means I'll have to install Windows on my Mac, which I'd promised I'd never try again after it made my computer fatally crash a couple of months back.

Decompiler
On that note, I have a pretty much finished old game laying around, but I only managed to recover the .swf file after my computer crashed. Could someone decompile it for me? I don't feel like forking out a fortune to the folks at soThink.

Supposed to be walls of a temple-ruin ish environment.

Needs less straight lines then. Crooked walls, cracks, stuff that has fallen down, debris, rubble, partially collapsed stuff, the work. You got the style right though

It's anything but a horror-movie, I'm not sure what you should call it, 'drama' doesn't really fit either. Here's a list of stuff people tag it with :)

Basically it combines sexually explicit scenes (although there are two versions of the film in theaters, one is slightly toned down I believe) you'd see in a bad porn flick, the depressing/uncomfortable atmosphere of something like Requiem for a Dream. It's slower than There Will be Blood, and there's bucketloads of symbolism (most of which was lost on me, until I checked some review this morning) like in the Fountain. It's an exhausting film to watch. I'm still not sure whether or not I really like it. The cinematography and acting is brilliant, but it's a weird and draining thing to watch. It certainly is an experience.

Here's the first scene of the film, not safe for work, but I hope nobody's working on Saturday.

How about you don't do that, but in stead you go work on that Robotech Manga Movie idea and come back to show something impressive. You probably have some characters thought out, why not draw and animate one of those doing something random so people can see how this thing will turn out.

Then don't show something that won't resemble the end result. Because this is not helping.

Hmm.. Before other, less-subtle, people get in here and pour loads of shit on you: You need to spend a whole lot more time on this. You must realize that compared to other high-rated animations yours doesn't look particularly good. AS a consequence, not a whole lot of people will be interested in doing anything for you right now. I suggest you go back to the drawingboard, get yourself a good preview (as in actual, proper animation) together, come up with a decent topic that properly explains what you want to do and how you're planning to do it, and try again.

If this is a serious attempt at trying to attract some interest to your idea: I suggest you start over, because the way you write is unreadable and it'll scare anyone who might be interested away.

I'm having some weird bugs. I use AS3 but I code on the timeline, on one frame I have my menu on the next one I have my game etc. When the player dies you have all the regular 'you made it to level x' messages etc. and the player can choose to go back to the menu (which is the previous frame). Now when I click the 'go back to menu' butotn I have sound clips from previous frames playing, the framerate seems to be doubled, there are movieclips on stage that shouldn't be there etc. There are no error warnings, no nothing. Logically everything seems to be in order, I just can't think of anything that would be wrong. Any suggestions?

Topic: Making only part visible?

Posted: 11/01/09 07:49 AM

Forum: Flash

You want to look into masking. Basically what you do in flash is add another layer above the layer(s) with the content you want to 'block'. You right click that top layer, select mask and you're ready to go. You can draw a certain area in the mask layer and only the parts of the lower layers that are covered by the area in the mask layer will be visible.

See how you do, we made sure all the levels were pretty unique and different - there are new toys to play with up to like level 45. The Guinea pig minimizer is my favourite :)

Preloader still doesn't work over here man, and by the looks of your score I'm not the only one.

Hey, will you guys Digg this.

I actually liked both articles, you're a pretty good writer. However, I think you lack some credibility, which is pretty important if you start such a blog if you ask me. The way you write you sound pretty authoritative, but you don't have much to back it up. So if I were you I'd start working on some projects, Show some updates on stuff you're working on etc. Put your money where your mouth is in a way. People don't want to hear financial advice from a homeless person. Make people believe why you would be the right guy to start a dev blog and it should all work out.

Don't think of this as an attack by the way, just trying to help.

I'm no expert either, but that's because it considers the numbers in the textboxes as Strings, not as numbers. So when you tell it to add those three Strings, flash just adds them together. What you want to do is convert the content of the textboxes to a number.
