Chris Hansen has addressed this. He's encountered very few female predators that use chatrooms to lurk for prey. Female predators usually know their victims personally.

You're thinking the NAA Mini-Revolver. I'm familiar with that, but this is not one of those. The cylinder for that is about twice the length of the cylinder of what she's holding, plus the barrel is different, the frame is slimmer. It's not a live firearm, though as stated, that doesn't mean CPS shouldn't be involved.

Response to: This is the thread on Michael Brown Posted August 18th, 2014 in Politics

A couple things. First off: Kareem Abdul Jabbar's EXCELLENT article on the matter, stating it's not JUST about race. It may very well be about race to some degree, but it's about a lot of other things, too. Mind you, I also support the Zimmerman "Not Guilty" verdict.

Second; I've seen people argue the cop should have shot to wound, which is not how police are trained, and is actually irresponsible shooting behavior. It's pretty much impossible to reliably shoot to wound, given the nature of ballistics and the delicacy of the human body. They're trained to shoot center mass when they draw their weapons. So, if you're arguing that Michael Brown shouldn't have been killed, which I'm not gonna make a statement either way, because I wasn't there and don't really know the situation; argue the cop should not have drawn his weapon period, which is a totally valid argument.

Closing note, though, Kareem's article is so fucking well-done that it makes me kinda wish he had never gotten into basketball and pursued journalism as a career instead. But then he wouldn't have the ability to be as honest as he is.

I think he's getting pissed off at the recent ones that have been made about shitty famous musicians, but that's just my guess.

If you're talking about the Katy Perry one and the Bieber one, those weren't biopics. Those were actual documentaries, the ones he said he'd watch. My stepmother worked on clearances for the Katy Perry one. All made up of actual footage of Katy Perry, no actors, no reenactments. It was a doc, not a movie. He's obviously talking about the James Brown biopic, and the Jimi Hendrix biopic, which are actual films dramatizing the life of two pretty awesome, pretty influential artists.

You're bitching about them like you're being forced to watch them. Seriously, just continue that practice if you don't want to see them, Hollywood will still make them (most of them are actually pretty good, like Walk the Line), and people will still flock to them. There's a reason these movies make massive bank, is that despite what you've theorized, tons of people want to see them.

Since you know traditional firearms, then you're probably aware that third world nations are full of handmade nontraditional weapons with proportions unique to their local gunsmiths. You should also be aware that rounds can be much smaller than the apparent size of the barrel in this photograph.

And considering the poor resolution of the image, I would also dispute your claim that you have identified the low contrast of delineation between the barrel and the cylinder release as resulting from a cast moulded toy instead of a real weapon.

Furthermore, a cap gun, novelty lighter, or fake gun still poses a threat to a child that age.

That cylinder can't hold a round, and if she were to somehow have live rounds in that, and she pulled the trigger, her hands are too big to not be burned, and mind you, she's a small woman, noted by her size compared to the child, and no firearms manufacturer, khyber pass or H&K, would let a flaw that massive through in their product. I won't dispute your last point, as I agree with it, and will add to it that it will likely have lasting psychological damage on the child. This is a really bad parenting move, and also an irresponsible attitude towards even replica firearms. She probably should lose custody of her child.

But it is, in fact, a novelty lighter. Spent way too much time looking it up

What makes it look fake?

Other than what I replied to the other guy, the cylinder seems to actually be molded to the frame, which casts doubt on it even being a cap gun.

Just because it doesn't have an orange tip doesn't mean it's not fake. I now theorize that if it's even a cap gun, it's a very old strip-cap based one.

That is not obvious at all. It very well could be a real firearm. There is nothing in the photograph to indicate that the weapon is a replica.

Why are you making the assumption that it isn't a real firearm?

Because I know firearms. First off, the cylinder is too small to accept even the smallest of rounds. The barrel is disproportionate to the frame, trying to replicate a K-Frame S&W. Yet it's still tiny in this small woman's hands. Pretty obvious to me that this is a cap gun of some sort, likely a Gohner or Rubie one. However, it wouldn't be obvious to someone who knew nothing about firearms, I'll admit, and even knowing it's a cap gun doesn't make the picture that much less horrible, because the concept is still there.

I hate the term "reverse-racism", not because I don't think racism against whites doesn't exist, but because it implies that it's something different than racism against any other race, therefore it defeats its own cause.

I mean, I really don't give a shit about skin color, I try to see every person as an individual. I mean, it's not that difficult to do.

Anti-semitism =/= Nazi supporter.

That is true. That was a total fallacy I just made. Anti-Semitism in no way even means (inherently) wishing physical harm on Jewish people.

Also, another thing is that Disney lived in a time of very strong American patriotism, there's no way he would support Germany against America.
