Dude...stop drawing pictures of my arms. If I find out you're spying on me....

Ok, now you made me feel uncomfortable...
Nevertheless, looks good.
Haha thanks! I think. Anyway I started drawing an elephant and then remembered a picture I had seen a long time ago, this is where the idea came from.

I don't have a tablet and I also use a laptop, hell I don't even use a mousepad, I use my mouse on my bedsheet while laying in bed...but yes...you are right, this is crap.
Here's something I just finished.
i think you should revisit UMREE's idea of drawing the shape of the hair, instead of the individual hairs, because honestly it looks like she's going grey. even with simple shading, you can give her hair more depth than just drawing each line for each hair. (see below)
the eyelashes are all over the place still. and the eyebrows look like they were penciled in. but it's a great improvement from your first pic!
Thank you, that was quick work but it lets me see exactly what you are talking about. I'll have to practice that style. I don't have any other brushes besides what comes with CS3. Are their any better brushes for doing hair? I had to use a size 1 with full hardness and stroke all of that, haha!
Here is a link to a high-res version, feel free to make any additional changes or add more detail and post it so I can see.
Here is the final one, same as the last but I changed the nose.
Made the suggested changes...
Here's another version of it that I like.
I'm tired of working on this, so this will be the final version. Its time to start something new. The comments, however, have helped me quite a bit, so I appreciate all of your help.

This is a picture i recently drew of a body-snatcher, more likely a child snatcher, living in a swamp, grievously deformed and ridden with disease and boils. This was a quick drawing, barely taking 2-3 hours i reckon.
I am not happy at the ruined quality via the resize, such as the boils actually looking festering.
As always, comments and critique encouraged, Good evening to you all.
I like it, good job. There a few thing that look a little off like his smaller arm compaired to the other one. Then in the arm on this side their are a few too many muscle bulges. Then also the agle of his right leg compiared to his body and left leg seem to be weird. Overall nice sketch though.

But I like it.
yeah I see something in the smile that is still weird. I'll have to mess with it and see if I can make it look better. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the input everyone!
**UPDATE**
It is almost finished. Just a few minor adjustments and then I'll post a link for a high-res version. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for the advice guys; I would estimate that this is about half way done now. I understand what you're saying SaltShaker but I don't really want to look at a picture while making this. That way I know its all from my imagination and memory. I want it to be realistic yes, but I don't mind if you can tell its not human. Actually I want it to be MORE HUMAN THAN HUMAN! Woohooo MORE HU-MAN THAN HU-MAN MORE HU-MAN THAN HU-MAN!!! Awesome, ok I'll shut-up now.

LOL I don't know who Pete Burns is but no. I haven't been looking at other pictures while doing this. I just keep adjusting it until it sparks in my eye. What can I say, I guess I like big mouths.

Oh ok sorry, I thought you were telling me a way for a cartoon-like person. Thank you
Thank you for the advice on the hair UMREE, however on this one I would like to get it as realistic as possible.
And... Mike, I am almost 30 hahaha, just a few years away!
**UPDATE**
This has been quite an experience for me so far, I just keep on learning from my mistakes and trying to make this woman attractive in my own eyes. As you can tell I'm still a rookie but stay with me I should finish soon enough!
At 7/15/08 11:12 PM, Chandelier wrote: Are you drawing that for a horror movie?
No, I am hoping after I work out the lines, I can bring her to life with shading. I am just trying to make the features look attractive and I'm still trying to figure out how to do the hair.
*UPDATE* so you know...this is not a reference and I'm freehanding, on my laptop, using a laser mouse, on my bed, whilst laying down. Haha sorry just wanted you to picture my situation. OOO thats a good idea for my next project... aaahhh! Ff_Oo_Cc_Uu_Ss! sry I get sidetracked so easy, back to what I'm here for...

Ok Dmab let me break this down so you can understand it. I suck at drawing freehand in photoshop, so I spent like 2 hours on my picture to overcompensate for that fact. THAT IS WHAT YOU MUST DO IF YOU SUCK AT DRAWING. Even if you have a great idea it is going to piss the person off that you killed because you put hardly any effort into it. Although you use MS paint you can still shade and make a decent background, I promise I've seen it done. Try spending 2 hours on something in MS paint and see what you come up with, I would be curious to see it. I'm not telling you this to start a fight. I'm telling you this because I started out making the same mistake a couple months ago and now I feel ashamed to have my name on those posts. TRUST ME
Well I just had an epiphany a second ago and I came to the realization that my art work has not been meeting my age level. This will be my NEW thread and I will start it with a rough sketch I just did. This is the sketch I will first focus on and I will post updates as I work on it. Good luck to me!
I will critique your work. It seems as though you are skilled in photoshop but lack artistic skill. Similar to me. I can cut and past and change colors and put text to your same ability. Yes it would make a good t-shirt design most of the time but if you're getting those images off google, or other websites, you could get in trouble. If this is what you enjoy doing then I won't tell you to stop. I will tell you though, if you want to get good attention from the people that know whats going on here, you should try making everything from scratch and focus more on the artistic side of it, and not the "hey look I can put cool things together in photoshop" side of it. Thats just my opinion; I've been using photoshop forever but just recently started freehand drawing in photoshop. All my stuff pretty much sucks so far but I feel better knowing that everything I've done is mine.
This thread made me want to draw a clown, but then I decided not to; then I changed my mind.

i coulda sworn i saw that as an advertisement for "chickn done right" or something.
Lol yeah I thought about that. I've seen an advertisement for Chick-fil-a that had a cow holding a sign that said Eat More Chicken. But at that same time don't you think its ironic for the colonel to get mad cow disease? Thats the perspective I was looking at^^
colonel's got himself another one...
The colonel was stricken with MAD COW!!!

SPEND AT LEAST 5 MIN ON A PICTURE OR YOUR DRAWING SUCKS
IF YOU DONT FOLLOW ANY OF THESE RULES, I WILL AHVE MY PET TENTICLE MONSTER COME OUT AND TORTURE YOU WITH KNIVES AND OTHER POINTY OBJECTS... THEY WILL ALSO CUT OFF YOUR DICK AND SUFFACATE YOU WITH IT
Dude it takes me five minutes to turn on my computer and open photoshop. The time you spend will depend on what level of artist you are. I would need to spend an hour on most of them and I am a noob artist. Which means that most people(not all) using ms paint should probably spend 1.5 to 2 hours. There should be a manditory shading rule and a slightly less manditory background rule, once again depending on your skill and if it can stand without a background or shading.
I was bored so I watched/disliked all of them. It was similar watching the Blair Witch Project re-enacted by worse actors. Keep trying.
