In all actuality, i had several other ideas 30 seconds after i submitted it, i.e. having a navy-blue face mask instead of grey, a respirator, maybe some decals, etc. etc.

Oh, well. What can i do? I'm not really expecting to win anything.

I wouldn't think so. If one "valid" flash was viewed during judgment, then wouldn't it be noticed from all the spam, and therefore voted "up?"

And besides, lots of high ranking flash have already "sunk" without being noticed or commended without actually being searched for.

You should not judge an entire group based on a few bad flashes. Sure, there are some retarded clocks that bring down the Clock Crew's name by making porn and crappy flashes, but many of the CC members are good-hearted.
