Response to: Want a custom Sprite? Posted May 12th, 2008 in Art

The character sprites are 32x64

what we really need to get started is Background/Landscape (grass, trees, buildings, etc. ) can be up to you, if you have resources we can edit them all up later.

There's different hair styles, clothing, for each of them. but yeah don't really worry it too much for now. plus the jpeg format ruins it. =/ These are are already animated for walking as a basic punch attack.

Shouldn't be a problem, but you probably won't need to. I'll tell him the next time he logs into windows messenger to send you a PM.

You don't have to do it, I was merely seeing if you 'could' do it heh. Reason being is, there's a small team of people (including myself) looking for people who can who can sprite. The goal is to make this original online multiplayer game, I have a lot of stuff done already but yeah. As for myself I can make the sprites, simple. But the clothing, accessories and stuff is what I don't really want to do because it's not really my "cup of tea" if you get my drift.

Seems like spriting is something you do, so i wanted to know if you wanted to be a part of it? if so, I'll tell him to swing a PM your way. I can make original content for you to edit.

If i made a front view of a sprite could you, for example, edit and create the walking animation frames for it? :O
it depends on what kind of sprite char. you're looking for, can I get a better example?

Like are you able to make... three, 4 frame walking animations (or so) from just one frame of each.

Pretty good. Like the different hairstyles.

You should do the drag n' drop + 'snap into place' so you don't have to line it up perfectly, It takes more time to make but makes it more user friendly in the end.

and yeah maybe you want to take a screenshot and post it in here before you get bombed about not posting a picture in the thread =/

Obvious troll.
aah, come on! I just think your jealous! have you ever tried something like this? it takes time im sure and a month is not that long you know

I have. It doesn't take nearly a month to do something like this.

He says it took a month, that's pretty ridiculous imo.

ngmastah representing for all the MS Paint homies, heh. You do have a point though, but at the same time.. the argument can go but ways, layers make coloring easy as hell when you can go back and edit something specific without worrying about the rest of the picture :O But hell I got pretty good in paint before I started using other stuff. I still, from time to time, do lines is paint because curve tool is less annoying than the pen tool imo. But then again.... blur tool owns spray can sooo... >.>;

But yeah, using a different program won't make the artist better =/
But like SpencerMann mentioned they would be potentially easier to do and come out nicer.

When I first looked at the pic something looked kind of off. Like the perspective.
The lower half of his body.. like his crotch area is too short.. or maybe the belt is too low?

The chest gear also seems like you started to draw it from the front view like the helmet is, but then changed the angle... looks like the middle area of the chest gear is facing you while the sides of the chest gear are at an angle. Know what I'm saying man?

On a general note, lots of good stuff in here :O
