Credits his cousin for doing most of the work :\ His own drawing and animation look nothing like this.

Hey old timer, congrats! Just saw your FP post, figured I'd give ya a looksee. Kinda figured you'd post here... although you've taken a low profile, for the most part. I did too for quite a while, but this place sure beats the shit out of the mainstream sites.. too much exposition, not enough dialog, to my eyes at least.

Man, that's a lot of good, bad and ugly.
It's been interesting because HTML5 games tend to score a lot lower than Flash games, often because of issues with older/different browsers.
Flash is still a legacy haven for older computers, which don't have multi-cores or lots of memory to spare. On slower systems, the audio cuts out (mostly out, not in); devs should definitely put in sound controls/mute button.
One thing I really want to emphasize is that I've seen a lot of really promising devs who are getting really low scores. I hope you don't get discouraged and do keep making games!
Someone recently told me that her phone would constantly kick off Newgrounds, but no others, think it was an Android...
Starting tomorrow it's monthly voting time, be sure to check your account page to see if you're on the panel to decide the Best of June!
I saw the first part of that(!) animation, passed it, then moved on, sanity intact... until you reposted it |: Oh well, it was a happy ending with a cherry on top, I shouldn't complain...

Some decent movies http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/ngmoviejam1 and here's, well, sciencey mystical stuff http://jordand.newgrounds.com/movies/

I didn't either for a while. Sure was wild in the BBS in those days!
Also i am noticing that I ahve one of the oldest accounts in this thread which is amusing for how little I have used i. I've just been enjoying content for years and years.
There's still a few old timers around, but yeah, a lot of them moved on to mainstream sites, and become hopelessly boring, I'm sure. This place still has a human element, where not so many creative types fall through the cracks. Some dude even met his future wife here! And you've never gone to a meet, or met anyone associated with Newgrounds before?
Let it be known, I'm all about the hi-res, brain sexing devices, that allow us to be epic in the comfort of our own homes. And, fuck, why play Zelda or Mario when the best is yet to come? Keep your eyes above the horizon, and that's where you'll go. Look back at the past too much, and you may (and are) doomed to repeat it.
I don't mind clever brain twisters, simple (but not insane) hand-eye coordination, and a cheap thrill, that weighs in, less than a couple of mp3's. In fact, most games and movies I've seen that were great, were of a very low level of sophistication.... it's the execution of great skill and art, that gives me that warm fizzy feeling in my groin, I hold so dear. But...
I wanna play some holodeck version of Grand Theft Auto, muthafucker |: Sure, I played the first one on PC, and the second, and while the newer versions never did have that same wit, humor and diversity of the past, they still have the pedigree, and billions in sales. They really need to kick a lil back to the small gamers, maybe have a beer or two on Rockstar's expense account. Have a good laugh, or a punch up, maybe some of them will hookup. Maybe bring back the Respect-o-meter, I miss that.

The flyer file still around? Maybe you should make up a new one in pdf so our members can hand them around.
And we should do that again.
That would be rad.

Early on, I seem to remember one or two events at colleges, where NG members held a contest or did stupid things to promote the site, but can't find it in the NG Wiki, in Portal History, or anywhere else... Someone dressed up like a Clock or another NG character (was it a banana?) and handed out flyers; there's a picture or two on this server somewhere :\
Happy birthday Art Portal, thanks for 5 years of things I wouldn't see IRL, it's been like a free pass to a gallery or museum.

Best to do a manual white balance (use a white piece of paper that matches the lighting on your face, in the shot), shoot outside, whatever. But getting a tan on purpose when you're under the age of 25 is stupid. Your chances of getting skin cancer down the line is more than doubled, if you get too much sun before your skin figures out how to live with you. Straight |:
They're good chips, but I can't say I've appreciated Intel's way of doing business in the past, same with Apple. Both companies like to rape local school systems with overpriced crap kids don't need. And I believe Intel lost an appeal to get their 1 1/2 billion euro antitrust case dismissed recently.... which is roughly equivalent to what they had to pay AMD for stolen tech a few years ago.
At least the motherboard manufacturers are still making new boards, there hasn't been a new AMD mobo for over 2 years, and the quality of the ones hitting the market now are becoming more dubious |:
6 years ago, my buddy's DVD rental place went under, and he gave me all the VHS tapes he couldn't sell, took all winter to match up the cases (stuffed with cardboard or styrofoam) to the tapes. I've still got them in storage.... still looking for The Toxic Avenger IV for Tom to sign. It's in there, somewhere |:
So with over a thousand VHS tapes, over a 100 audio cassette tapes and LP's, a few dozen 3/4 U-Matic and Hi8 production tapes around... my collection owns me. Still, it's awesome to pop a tape in while I'm bopping around the house, just need better speakers so I can hear it over doing dishes. Wonder why the porn on VHS looks better.....
After hacking into various Japanese manufactories, my self aware profile would create a huge Asterix robot... it would swim across the Pacific to California, and start punching self righteous assholes on the continent, and it wouldn't stop. Ever.

Tom wouldn't just let the site die, he'd rather sell it off a member, than to let it go offline. The odds are better that the internet and/or power grid would collapse before NG went offline. Poofand boom.

This. Kid must be an alcoholic or something... to take a shot like that to the side of the head, is awfully strange and dangerous. OP: get checked out in the ER stat, get your parent's homeowner's insurance numbers before you go, unless you're still under one of your parents health insurance policies. But it does line the news executives' pockets.
To play devil's advocate, it makes sense that the locals should be informed of crime in their area. I live next to a juvenile prison... back in the day, they just used to blow the steam whistle, then they spent a lotta dough on a reverse 911 system, which they don't even use now.
What could go wrong with profit, right?
Yeah, the root of all evil....
So they give them some more attention, they get the people to start campaigns against this shit, they start blaming it on other shit; video games, the internet, music, television.
The campaigns were already there, providing make-work for corporate and political spin machines.
They get their posthumous documentaries and dramatic re-enactment movies. 10 to 20 years later they'll still be antagonized by the media and ironically promoted, even if it is in bad light, showing the other batshit crazy folks that they'll get attention too if they do this shit.
Those are fun |: I think they've been doing that, since the Lindbergh baby got kidnapped and killed....
The media has made sure that we will not forget that this shit happens, and they have made sure that if it happens, their cameras are locked and loaded to shoot.
I never worked in news, but a close friend of mine was. Plenty of news crews have to venture into dangerous areas, to document something that usually isn't very good PR for the community anyway.
It has become an endless cycle.
"The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. Hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. This new version is the past and no different past can ever have existed. In principle the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or East Asia, but to keep the very structure of society intact." George Orwell

Take an active interest in people's work, review their content, ask questions on their blogs.
And then most people arent much interested and some talk for a awhile and then forget you.
It's a big wide web, plenty of content to lose yourself in. Words are plentiful, deeds are precious: successful content providers (animators, game makers, musicians and artists) usually get the most attention in response and support of their work, which is good, because they break their balls/ovaries to get it completed.

The web is about exposition. We can't respond to everything we see online, but we can absorb it.

Love is supposed to make the world go 'round, yet capitalizing on sadness, seems to have slowed the world down. The veneer of civilization as we know it, has grown thin enough for the public to see what lies beneath... and it will drive some utterly batshit enough to do stupid things, even more so than before. And certainly the last few decades of social programming, has certainly been hard on you millennials out there...
Murder happens everyday, but when the popular 'tags' pop up on the police blotter, very well funded groups capitalize on the misdeeds of others, and reinforce their agendas... which keeps the mass media news machine in work, and on the right side of their bosses, who are responsible to management and the stockholders.

I think she done him up in Midnight Caller, where he played a DJ... dunno who tied Clint up, in that one flick where he's a wounded enemy soldier, and he's taken in by a girl's school.
