Didn't read the article the OP listed, but I'm assuming it's about the mini-ice age that's due. They found huge, ancient catacombs all over the globe, where people stayed for years on end. Creepy stuff. Stock up on Pop-Tarts, that's what most people do after a disaster, or at least, that's what Wal-Mart has discovered :\

Hmm, not exactly the kind of birthday sentiment I wanted to impart....

Response to: eCPM higher than your share? Posted August 6th, 2014 in Where is / How to?

Hmm, CPMstar, though they really don't do CPM very well. It's a company Tom used to know the owner of, then the guy sold out, then the payouts got worse over time. But they do pay Tom regularly, and when your cut is over 75$, and you want the dough, Tom will sign the check and mail it, PDQ.

The pay-to-click economy is a real mess, but some people have thrived on it in the past... now Google soaks up most of the dough >:( Remember if you contribute to someone else's work, you're only getting a small cut from the total... which isn't much. to begin with. Once the adult stuff is moved onto another server, Tom can have a better (mainstream) company come in, and handle the ad payouts :)

You mean a game flash, right? It's some new plug-in called Unity (think there's another new plug-in too). http://unity3d.com/

If you've got a decent computer, it's worth checking out (though NG doesn't have a decent page about it, or is listed on the requirements page).

It could be a HTML5 game, in which case, update your browser and/or Java.

Okay, use solar panels, a battery and LED's, figure out the costs of the materials, then post the Kickstarter. Mystery solved, more fundable idea, and more topical rewards (as in, types of what you're trying to build).

Thankfully, a lot of women are here and animate as well :) The world needs more women writing scripts! If @waffrus had submitted her games here 10 years ago, I don't think she'd get the kind of scores, she's been getting now; the internet itself is becoming more feminine.

And this from a company, that made most of it's money by promoting whoever pays the most money, just to be listed first in a webpage search. This is why I'll never make a YT or Google+ account; they're greedy and beyond redemption, despite their "Do no evil" "mission statement".

BTW, someone earlier in this thread had said this site doesn't seem conducive or appealing to women (maybe it's the orange-rust color scheme). What do you think, is NG okay for women, or are there still too many under 18 y/o males mucking up the works?

That's been said a lot in this thread, and I'm with you on that. It seemed like. before the last redesign, that's where the center of action was. The tabs are still helpful, but seem messy when you get into it... after all, there aren't that many options to search. Tags are helpful, but not everything's tagged or tagged properly.

In 2009 (wasn't it?) when YT embeds were allowed here, it did bring a few YT members to Newgrounds... then the YT links on every piece of shit they uploaded here began popping up, and still do :\

YouTube is to the internet, what WalMart is to America's small retailers - a big bully, who destroys communities, that concentrates all the attention on their algorithms/stock holders, and not the little guy.

They're killing the little guy! used to appear on a lot of vacated store fronts after the Great Depression hit... and we're due for another one soon. Diversity yields strength. Unfortunately, that's not the way things work these days.

I make more ad revenue from posting to the front page (like a penny) then the nothing I'll ever see from most of work. It's really annoying when I spend a few days on a small little game shooting game and it generates a nice chunk of ad revenue but will never see a penny on an adult game I made that I spent like 3-4 months working on.

Hopefully @Tomfulp will weigh in on this; he's going to migrate all the adult content over to another site, so both Newgrounds and the new adult site, can make more money!

It's not worth doing but I like doing it, unless you have your own website like Shadman or take commissions there no way to make money from it. But note I'm speaking in general on this point, no site other then Newgrounds that allows adult content has revenue sharing.

If the adult content is sectioned off (on another server and name), then more adult sponsors can come in.
If Newgrounds sheds the adult matter, more mainstream sponsors can come in.

However if there's one thing that Newgrounds does provide for adult content is views, there is no site other then Newgrounds where I see even nearly as many views.

I'm just hoping a single log on to NG will suffice for both sites, kinda like when YT requires a G+ account.... (NG Passport?)

too bad views don't matter on YouTube, AMIRITE!

I wouldn't know, I never made a YT account, and only had FB for a year, before I felt the Pan-Opticon growing strength....

Delivery?! I've got half a dozen pizza joints within a 4 mile radius of my house, how lazy can you get? Drinks are personal preferences, anything goes! Usually do dark soda, and sometimes tater chips too.

I'll eat damn near anything topping they offer, so long as it's cooked and preferably slightly burnt. I add garlic powder to some of the toppier za's, it's pretty rare I just get plain anymore, variety is good. One of the seven deadly sins oughta be "Don't buy by the slice, it's a rip off."
