It doesn't really take that long. I just re-imported over 32,000 songs in a few minutes. With reapplying the album artwork it's only like a 10 minute process.

Considering iTunes is the only way to get music onto my iPod, I have to use it. Regardless, I love it. Simple to use, plus Genius has given me amazing bands.
