Sounds pretty much (but not completely) like something I used to have.
When I went to sleep, I would fall asleep for about 2 seconds and in that 2 seconds I would dream that I trip and fall or just fall or something like that.
When, in the dream, I hit the ground, I wake up suddenly and twitch, raise my knee and/or cover my face.
