It wouldn;t so bad if it weren;t drawn in a way which amde Frank look like he's one of the munsters... or if it didn't have the stupid japanese stereotype monster hunters which speak in broken English when they're communicating with each other and not Japanese. ... or... yeah actually...thinking about it, it all sucks...

I'M NOT DEAD!

And apparently I'm still a moderator despite not being here in ages!

Third year in university is hell. I have zero free time that's not taken up writing my dissertation, running the student campus societies I'm involved in, and sleeping and eating and seemingly scaring off girls I go on dates with!

Life sucks, I'm tired exhausted and am for some reason considering doing a masters in the cultural perceptions of the British armed forces in 1930's Britain.

But all in all I'm quite good.

So.... yeah...

HAI GUIZ!!!!

THe dudes being rewarded for his fucking rhetoric during his campaign. That is just plain fucked up. Its awarding the prize based on what he *Says* he's going to do, so apparently sugar coated words are enough for a Nobel Prize now...

Gores winning was at least feasible, regardless of what you think about him or what he's done he's at least *done* something recognisable. Obama had to have been nominated within 2 weeks of his coming to power and in those two weeks he achieved nothing worthy of the peace prize.

Congratulations Nobel Committee you just lost any semblance of credibility you had.

prove me wrong then. WHY would they shoot down enforcement amendments?

Because they restrict the operation of the health service and increases the number of checks and bureaucracy involved in the system, thus driving up costs as more admins need to be hired to deal with it, and also increases waiting times as these checks need to go through an take time?

Topic: Would you blame the robot?

Posted: 09/12/09 12:18 PM

Forum: Politics

You blame the inventor for the programming the robot but similarly you do not let the robot go on and continue with its rampage of destruction. You take it into ciustody and reprogramme it if possible or destroy it.

Focusing on the analogy you're trying to make, sure there are always going to be circumstances that lead to negative outcomes that are illegal or whatever, but that doesn't mean the individual is void of responsibility. When it comes down to it it was their choice to take the actions they did.

Finally Wales has nothing to do with it, if they wasn't to become independent then that's up to them. Their are a number of reasons why I don't like the union, some personal some political. But is a modern world with globalisation in place Scotland could benefit going it alone.

Except you wouldn't be going it alone. You'd be joining the EU, and possibly even adopting the Euro if I remember correctly, cause you sure as hell can't use British Pound Sterling any more if you go independent. So you'd be leaving one oft ehs trognest currencies in the world either for something of your own design ( Which you wouldn;t have the economic force to back properly) or adopt the Euro. So in all likelhood you'd be going from Pound to Euro... one grouping of nations with a shared economy to another.

You can sort of go it alone, but what does Scotland actually have that the rest of the world needs? Oil? Denmark is predicting its North Sea OIl is going to run out in just over a decade, and as Scotlands Oil is also from the North Sea where does that leave you? You can't use Oil as the basis of your economy, so then what do you use?

Link

You can't compare in tertiary sector businesses with England as England has the Financial capital of the world and banking and 'business' is what most 1st world countries economies are base don these days.

England has one of the the financial sectors in the world. London. Edinburgh and Glasgow dont even come close.

Theirs that and also some things are done differently in Scotland which are just better for the average person.

Such as?

I think it would be a good move if our own government actually had the same authority as the British one instead of being a subset of Westminster.

You don't even make full use of the powers that you have in the Scottish Parliament, so if you don't want to be a subset, you need to stop acting like one. Scottish nationalists are in power in Scotland, and have they even really stood up to the British government on anything? if they ahve i've not come across it.

Has your parliament even changed any taxes that the British government has instigated? Cause they've got the power and the authority to do it.

In order for us to feel that he's actually more than just a duck and thus worthy of our viewing Disney has to make him seem more human. Utilising the towel after coming out of the shoper is just one way of doing that.

TNT got a bailiff threat today from an energy company I'm not with, addressed to a person who doesn't live at my house, saying that they owe them Almost £1000 pounds. Apaprently this non-existant person lives at my house according to Npower.

This is 3rd time this has happened. The first time was almost a year ago. said energy company has repeatedly stated that they would fix the problem. Apparently it will all be fixed by the 16th. A FULL YEAR AFTER THE PROBLEMW AS FIRST REPORTED O_o

TNT is annoyed and going to write to the Ombudsman who regulates energy companies with a huge arse rant about Npower.

TNT will also be writing to the Managing Director of NPower explaining how he, his company and all but one of his employees ( the person I spoke to this morning who was very helpful) can go fuck themselves and that if I ever as much as receive another letter from them to my house I will come down to their offices in Swindon and go fucking postal.

TNT wants cake...

The Punisher ( Written by Garth Ennis is your best bet)

Ghost Rider can be quite adult at times.

Hellblazer

Preacher

Possibly Fables as well...

Shrug our shoulders mumble ' well that sucks' and get one with our lives.

It's what we do when we get bombed by terrorists, so the release of a prisoner isn't going to have that much of a different affect, unless we're personally affected by the event in question.

Calm down, Marvel fans, the sky is not going to fall down, Disney is not going to bastardize Wolverine or Deadpool or any other other Marvel characters. Nothing's going to change. Well, nothing important, anyway.

Except, you know, Disney in recent years has shown a business practice focsuing not on producing quality but whatever sells the most, therefore assuming that there is a risk that those practices could be potentially applied to Marvel in Disney's attempts to make more profit ( especially at a time when they're seeing a fall in profits) is something we should be happy about?

I've got Arkham Asylum. Been playing it a bit and am about 20% through at the moment. Just encountered Scarecrow for the 2nd time. Its a good game, only problem I;ve got is 1) I don't like what they've done in terms of how Harley Quinn looks, 2) The Riddlers challenges and riddles don't seem to really be riddles, half the time I'm jsut accidentally stumbling across the trophies whilst looking for other stuff.

But its an awesome game regardless.

Excercise less, eat more, and eat unhealthily. Go to McDonalds as often as you can. Eat fried food as much as possible. basically do the opposite of a healthy diet.

Though why would the army want you to gain weight to serve? Unless you're showing signs of anorexia I fail to see how you gaining weight would be a benefit to service.
