I don't watch reality television unless Gordon Ramsey is involved.

Oh, and Star Trek. Specifically, The Original Series, The Next Generation, and Deep Space Nine.

Where-oh-where do I find these shows (legally)?

I do not wish to argue about the film industry but they do make billions of dollars every year for movies that only cost 1/10 of that to make.

Bojack Horseman
Masterchef & Masterchef Junior
Workaholics

My ended favorites:
True Blood
Lost
The Office (US)

Best TV Show? Posted 14 hours ago in General

So, my fellow Newgrounders, I am starting this discussion today because I was wondering what your favorite television show is. I'm asking because I am looking for a new show to start, and I want to compare your lists with shows I've already watched to validate my own tastes. I'm not going to post any shows I've seen just yet, solely because I would like to know what all of your favorites are before I do.

This can include anime, animated, sketch comedy, and anthology series' as well.
You don't have to post just one! Post as many as you would like and why you love the show so much.
I know many people don't watch television anymore, what with the booming film industry and the internet, but I am really anxious to see what the favorites of the Newgrounds community are if you have some to share. :)

Do you believe in online relationships and online love, NG?

I am for online love. Why not? It's basically interactive pornography when you get to the sexual part. But I'm not sure about like a committed online relationship. Only because I could never trust that someone would take it seriously and honor that... Like, they could say they're your online girlfriend/boyfriend but be married with kids in real life.

You just never know who you're talking to on the internet so it's hard to trust anything anyone says.

Hello everyone!

Some quick updates for the guild. We have opened our new horror anthology up to new members and are allowing submissions until March 20th, 2015. If you are interested please see the Guild Constitution for more information.

We are accepting new members once again! We have inducted seven new members today, and I personally look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. We did not reach the planned 100 members by the end of the year, but we did make it to 60, a number that I am proud of and looking to build upon in the coming years.

If you have yet to join the WNG, do so! We are a welcoming community and we are always looking for new writers to join our ranks. Our next guild meeting is January 31st, 2015 at 8PM Eastern Time.

Response to: The Interview scores a 9.9 on Imdb Posted 5 days ago in General

But it was an awful movie so this is not okay

Franco is just not a good actor, and the good satirical points to be made during the actual interview were ruined by spoiler spoiler Seth Rogen's spoiler spoiler finger spoiler.

Response to: The Interview and freedom of speach Posted 5 days ago in Politics

I just finished watching it and I have to say it was a bit offensive. But it was a funny movie. I could definitely see how some people being portrayed could have been offended, but I can also see that it was a satire.. It's just that Rogen and Franco weren't really talented enough to pull it off so it was a bit of a joke.

I recommend that everyone watches it though. It was worth six bucks as long as you're okay with a bunch of propaganda.

Response to: Pedophilia and frowned upon needs Posted 2 weeks ago in General

It does seem as though you're trying to rationalize pedophilia. Make no mistake, the disorder is very traumatizing to children. Just because they are malleable does not mean they can understand the extent to which the pedophile loves them or the reasoning behind it. A child cannot consent to that type of relationship because they do not have the capacity to understand the motives of the pedophile. It is wrong and for every case I've read about a pedophile being a victim, I have read far more about the long term effects that a victim of pedophilia goes through. Children need to be protected from this type of disorder because the consequences are dire and range from suicidal ideation to pedophilia at a later age.

If there were no victims of pedophilia, there would be far less pedophiles. Think about that.

Response to: Pedophilia and frowned upon needs Posted 2 weeks ago in General

At 12/14/14 03:18 AM, NippleManOfMilk wrote: Here's the thing, I don't think there's any problem with pedophilia.

Well, not thinking there's anything wrong with it and understanding why it's not a good thing are two different arguments. Instead of arguing with you about the logic behind a child's inability to give consent, instead I will say this: pedophilia is a type of paraphilia. A paraphilia is a distressing sexual disorder that a person truly cannot control. Usually pedophilia is the response to a traumatizing childhood, and the person with the disorder tries to reclaim their youth by having relationships with people younger than them. The DSM-V says to be considered a pedophile your range of children must be at least five years younger than you and the person with the disorder must be at least 16 (victims no older than 16 as well). The strange thing about case studies I've observed is that most pedophiles seek romantic relationships with children, not sexual ones. The romance itself is what is gratifying to the pedophile.

Whether or not you see this as being wrong I suppose would be up to you. But we are definitely seeing more and more that while pedophiles are wrong in their own regard in the way they act with children, pedophiles at one time were victims of abuse or a traumatizing event that caused them to act the way they do.

It's definitely sad to think that they are just seeking what they believe is happiness, but there is not a very structured way to date to fix this sexual disorder. Or many other taboo disorders.
