Now that you don't have approved text to beat his points, you just mention jealousy? I can clearly see you're a patriot, but get your ass somewhere else and talk about America as much as your heart desires. America isn't the world's only country ; it surely is big and advanced, but upgrading something that reached the maximum is pointless. Think of other poor people who cry for fresh water every day while Europeans spill water around. Didn't you think about that for a moment?

I thought we're doing a goat this time, nobody mentioned a virgin.
No one mentioned Italy?
Or Finland?
I usually don't watch western films because most of them are fucking stupid. Wild Wild West is a good example on how a too characteristic genre can get different.

At 10/9/13 07:08 AM, CiviLies wrote: You really don't understand the significance behind fear? It's fine if you don't, it seems pretty useless at first, but you have to think about it from a primitive point of view. Our ancestors were cautioned by fear. They were afraid of the dark because we were more vulnerable, afraid of predators because they could eat us, afraid of natural disasters because they could have decimated us. It is that same fear that kept us alive tens of thousands of years ago that keeps us alive today. It's natural to be afraid of heights, snakes, or lightning because those are all things that could kill us. I'm not discouraging one to face their fears, of course, but merely pointing out that fear is a survival tool that we use to try to minimize our chances of experiencing death or extremely stressful/traumatic situations. There's a huge line between stupid and brave, but a much finer one between extremely stupid and extremely brave.
You have a good point. Fear is a tool that alarms us to be careful and proceed with caution. You still haven't explained my sentence in which I explained why the fear can be totally useless in some situations. We don't need a good mark to survive, and yet we still fear about it.
Other users who posted in this thread have explained pretty well on how someone can have different reactions on a corpse lying nearby. Our bodies are a potentially perfect genetic machine, unfinished though, but smart. If you were in a situation in which you saw a man get shot by another person, you will get shocked. No time for fear. Adrenaline will start flowing, and the nerves will be telling us to hastily leave because the killer may decide not to leave witnesses.
No updates on progress so far? Guess I'll start then.
After two and a half hours of work, I have finally managed to finish the lip sync for this little vermin. The characters he may look familiar with are those ghost things from Pac-Man and Bloo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

What is the importance of fear? A child that has studied for an exam and fears that he's going to get a bad mark isn't going to help him concentrate.

Hmm, that's not what I meant. How would you emotionally react? Will you get scared? Will you panic? Or will you stand emotionless for a while and then call the police?

That's compassion what you're talking about. Of course someone will get sad and start crying if he lost a person he knows. But let's say you see a corpse of a complete stranger, about five meters in front of you. How would you react?
Do any of you show an indiffernet attitude to dead bodies?
Most guys, as we know, won't. They'll probably panic. If your instinct tells you to panic, please tell me, what's the use of that? Panic just spreads intensity through the group of people, it's not gonna help anybody.

No reaper. I have tried everything, but it just won't let me export the image of the grim reaper on a separate layer. Can you draw the silhouette of the grim reaper?

Do you think you could take out the grave at the very front though? (it may look a bit strange with the scrolling parts going over it)
Of course.
Also if you can make the reaper a separate layer I might be able to add some animation to it (e.g. floating up and down)
I can export the image of the reaper as a bitmap. You can then import the bitmap in Flash, convert it to a symbol and do the floating animation.

I made a quick sketch. Does this look convincing enough?

I thought the silhouette of a grim reaper would look cool in the center. If you want I can take that out.

Because they're in the experimental zone - an area where anything may happen for the sake of practicing.

As I mentioned, the second one is deliberately made goofy. But yeah, you're right that people, in real life, don't do fast and slow actions at the same time.
Here's a combination of a blue ball and a gun:

Something I don't like about this one is that minor smoke that appears when the hand pulls the trigger. I had to re-do it five times and it always looked bad.
Hello.
I have been drawing and animating for four years and I never got the opportunity to receive feedback, except, of course, from my friends who don't know anything about this. They just say, like, "OMG thats gr8" and there's the full stop.
I will post stuff to this thread hoping that it will get some valuable advice on improving. So, here's this:

They're two walk cycles I've made today. The first one is a guy walking in a pajama bottom. And the second one is deliberately made goofy. Heh, I know the second one doesn't even look like a walk, I just tried to mess around with it.
Relationships are like a mug of beer. It looks good at the start, and makes you want more at the end. Too much of it gives you a headache. You'd kill your own grandmother to get past this liquid!
Pissing in mop buckets? What's next, throwing up on other people's dishes?
