You got the Dad mask though! Now people just get the kid plush.
New in the store: Kenstar t-shirt! Ya know, from Girlchan.
We are no longer selling the Dad 'n Me hood & plush combo but we're selling the remaining plush kids for $35 each. These were hand-made by Nathan and the money funds his ongoing documentary!

I really can't give a perfect answer about why one movie wins over others, but I'll say I'm happy to see people debating over movies that had previously gone unrecognized.

It would be awesome if Adobe would partner with us to give out copies... FLASH IS EXPENSIVE!
On that note, it would also be nice if Wacom partnered with us to give out tablets... I should try to accomplish both of those things in 2010.

This comes up every year and I do always consider doing a prize for the gem itself... But the reason why we emphasize a prize for the gem finder is because we want to motivate as many people as possible to dig into the site and find stuff. So the user gets rewarded for finding something we missed, and the thing we missed gets rewarded with the exposure it never got the first time around.
It's Day 9 of the never-ending Treasure Hunt results and we're moving on to GAMES!
But first, I'll announce the winner for MOVIES. The undiscovered gem of 2009 is....
Criminal! It didn't win any awards and never made front page or got put in a collection... And it's just got GEM written all over it.
Tugoro isn't a well-known artist either, although surprisingly I had showcased one of his other movies in a things you missed post this past February.
The finder of the gem and winner of $200 is TURDO.
SO where were we?

That lady can't catch a break.
I watched Zwartboek (Black Book) the other weekend... A Nazi film by the guy who did Robocop and Starship Troopers. So it's sorta like the Robocop of Nazi movies...
If you want to see a movie about a lady who can't catch a break, I highly recommend Zwartboek.

Daily Features are in the P-Bot post but not technically front paged in the FP showcase space. The treasure hunt prize does lean towards submissions that didn't even win awards, though.
My Firefox just blocked a pop-up and I think it happened here on NG... So if anyone gets a pop-up, can you try to screen-grab or explain what ads are on the page when it happens? Thanks! NG should never have pop-ups coming through the ad code. :(
It's not the most offensive thing on the site, but with Christmas around the corner it's the most timely.

Actually I filed Flute under "Quirky."
After checking out thousands of movies and games in the Treasure Hunt thread, I've narrowed everything down to a bunch of smaller, loosely categorized lists.
These lists include General Comedy, Quirky, Parodies, WTF, Twisted Fun, Twisted Dark, Nerdy, Dirty, Action, Drama, Music Videos and Series, along with genres for games. We're gonna kick things off with the longest list, "General Comedy."
