With Pico Day coming up next week, we're releasing some previous entries on the Newgrounds iTunes Podcast. Included in the update are Pico: The Herpes Escape, Uberkid's Revenge, Pico's Time Tank and Pico vs. Convict. They're all free for download via iTunes. Check them out here.

If you're participating in Pico Day, be sure to check out Tom's post, with links to the Pico Day preloaders as well as information about how you can make extra money from your Pico Day submissions, or all of your submissions for that matter! Also check out the recent audio contest, Pillars of Pico, where artists made music to be used in Pico Day submissions. I'd like to let everyone know that we're once again able to send emails to AOL users. While this doesn't change my opinion that AOL is the worst email service in the universe and all current AOL users should run from them, at least those still stuck with an address will be able to validate their accounts and get the nightly emails. Thanks to everyone who sent a message to AOL's Postmaster, I'm not sure if it helped but hopefully it annoyed the hell out of them (again, a win in my book).

Also, at some point this morning we ran out of storage in the Audio Portal. The last time I checked there was plenty of free space, but I guess it was a busier than normal month. I've gone ahead and allocated more space so uploads should once again complete successfully. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Topic: Aol Email Problems

Posted: 02/05/08 07:47 PM

Forum: NG News

This is a call to action to the Newgrounds community.

For the past several months we have been unable to send any email to AOL users. This applies to nightly/weekly emails, validation emails and emails from our individual NG staff addresses. Basically, whenever we send an email to any @aol.com address it gets bounced back with a "550 Mailbox not found" error. Normally, such an error would occur only when the address in question did not exist, however, AOL in their infinite wisdom, likes to throw it around for other reasons as well. We've been on the phone for literally months trying to get this issue fixed but no one over there seems to care.

If you'd like to read the longer version head on over to my blog post on the matter: Seriously people, just quit AOL already.

If you'd like to have this problem fixed, please email postmaster@aol.net with a subject of "Newgrounds.com email" and a body of:

-----
Please fix your mail servers so they can accept emails from Newgrounds.com.

Thanks!
-----

I'm not sure if this will do anything, and frankly I'm not sure I care. I mean, AOL for email, yuck! But Bob says, "a community is only as strong as its weakest member" and someone still using AOL for email seems pretty weak to me. Besides, if nothing else it should annoy the hell out of someone at AOL and that's a win in my book.

Seriously though, we needed a "soda fridge" and getting that machine was actually cheaper. It's all about the bottom-most button labeled "Miller Time".

Yes, the colors are different from the old ones. We were able to find a company to correctly match our designs so these look "right." When you set the two versions side by side, the new ones look MUCH better from both a color standpoint as well as the updated tank logo.

You might need eye surgery when you hit 50. :(

Nah, it's not like the screen is split into 6 pieces. When i switch virtual desktops, everything else is hidden except for the applications tied to that specific desktop. So, regardless of what I'm doing, it's still a single 1920x1200 view (which on a 24" screen is just fine).
