Other people can't give you an idea that you'll stick to. You need to have an idea that you're passionate about, otherwise it's always going to fail. Have a good long think about the kind of stories you like or what's going on in your life that you want to make a point about or add a little of that into an idea.

Response to: Got my character down, need ideas Posted May 13th, 2011 in Animation

I think you should do something with aliens that can disguise themselves but want to suck out your brains, very much like in this hilarious red dwarf episode. It's a good watch and i think it would be a great idea for your animation :p

Nothing about my opinion was indecent. It was a very honest, unpampered opinion. The fact is, there's nothing, in my opinion, that can be salvaged from what the OP posted, and so therefor nothing to give constructive criticism on. If I were to give any 'constructive criticism', it would be watch movies you've never heard of, would never normally watch and aren't of a action/romance/horror/thriller genre. Then try and write something that isn't Halloween 72 or Scream 34 and you might be getting somewhere.

You didn't give any opinion at all, so don't cry over mine when i give honest feedback.

Really generic teen horror flick plot. Even the names are about as american B movie cliche as you can get; coutney, alyssa, jessie. Every line of the character script sounds like typical teen squabble that you would get in such a movie, and all the cliche camera shots and scares from every other teen horror movie ever made make an appearance.

Scrap the entire thing imo.

Sorry, being honest.

Just to add, I'm after ones with impressive smoke/blood/camera/destruction effects.

Stick animations? Posted May 10th, 2011 in Animation

Could someone link me to a couple of the better stick fight animations/artists on newgrounds please? I'm not particularly interested in the actual fights, but rather some of the effects the more experienced artists use in them.

Thanks.

Ah thanks. I'll give it a go at some point.

Thanks.

On glados you should work in some heavy shading and commit to your lines. Dont be afraid to go heavy, just make regular saves so if you need to go back you can. With some heavy contrasts you could really make her internals like the wires pop.

Don't make a madness animation. Make something with your own thought, creativity and ideas.

No, when I look at the file in My Documents, it says 17 KB. Of course, it's in Toon Boom format. Is this suprising considering there is already 360 frames, half of them with color?

17KB for 75% of an animation is absolutely nothing. I have single 4-5 second scenes that are 900kb

Response to: You interested in Cyberpunk? Posted December 10th, 2010 in Writing

One more thing, I am not looking for a script, nor characters. I am looking for a situational world, a theme in which the animation follows, the economic climate, the reason for it, what holds the equilibrium and what is ready to disrupt it, the society and how and why it has turned into what it is now. How current day evolved into that future, or perhaps unrelated to us, a similar world with a different future to ours. These are the things I am looking for someone to work with me on.

You interested in Cyberpunk? Posted December 10th, 2010 in Writing

Hi guys.

I'm basically making this thread to find others who are interested in cyberpunk science-fiction and creating a cyberpunk world/story.

I'm currently working on an animation which once done, will see me moving onto another animation in which I want to create a fascinating and intruiging cyberpunk story/universe with the exciting possibility of being as stylised as one chooses to make it. Being a fan of worlds such as GITS, blade runner, Aeon Flux and so on I have a lot of ideas, but would also like a/several seasoned writers to bounce ideas off and work with in creating such a world and a truly great story.

If anyone feels that they are up to the job and would like to work with me on this then let me know either here or in a PM.

I don't have any animations uploaded currently, but as I said will be uploading something soon and can provide examples of my work to anyone interested in seeing it before they commit to anything, but I believe my level of artwork/animation is of a relatively high standard.

Anyone is welcome to chip in on this, but my goal is to create a high standard, professional level story and animation and so seasoned writers are who I am ultimately looking for, and obviously someone with a passion for the subject matter of cyberpunk.

Thanks.

Anyone living that lifestyle who doesn't work to educate and move their children away from that shouldn't have children in the first place. You seem to think that lifestyle is cool. It isn't.

Response to: Help with the grammer for my Flash Posted December 10th, 2010 in Writing

just 'then so be it' is enough.

Response to: Some Raps Posted December 10th, 2010 in Writing

First of all I'd say don't take pictures of youself trying to look gangsta, because you look like a tool.

As for your rap, well...

You talk about 'being in the club', shooting people and how life is tough. However you're on newgrounds asking for your rap to be critiqued and you look about 15 so I have a feeling that those things might be straying from the truth just a tad.

You seem to be obsessed with smoking weed as if you've just had your first joint and want to twitter all your friends to let them know.

'i gotta walk slow cuz my jeans still fallin,
n***as be drawlin,
pussy i be all in,
da n***a gone have to catch a rebound like spalding,
after the cross and jugglage of my balls and'

^ This paragraph sounds like you're homosexual with other men checking out you ass and 'juggling your balls'.

You say you're aiming at whoever with your P80, I assume you're going to take photos of them then because thats a Nikon Camera, and no relation to the P90 sub-machine gun.

There's a lot of stuff I decided to skip commneting on (believe me a lot) but my advice to you, would be, rap about your life, and how your life really is. Don't try to mimic the gangsta lifestyle rap which is obviously not your life because you just look like a poser. Raps poetry, and good delivery and meaningful matter will always be stronger than someone trying to look like they are the baddest person around by talking rubbish about sleeping with X number of girls and pretending they've shot X number of people, and making threats. The old saying rings true, 'keep it real'

Need a youtube embedder for NG Posted November 24th, 2010 in Game Development

I'm in the middle of making a flash and can see it's going to be over the 10mb limit. I've seen some people who have uploaded a video to NG where the flash they've uploaded to youtube can be streamed in the video they've uploaded here.

How have they done this and how can I do it?

Response to: Voice Actor Advertisement thread Posted November 19th, 2010 in Audio

Hey guys, I'm working on an animation in which I'll need several voice actors, however the main one that is critically needed is a voice for a 12(ish) year old girl. I don't want to go into too much detail about the animation, but it's an animation which is inspired by the likes of 'my neighbour totoro' amongst others, just to give you an idea of what style/voice I'm looking for. I'll be looking for other actors later, but the sooner I can get a good VA on board for this role the better.

Anyone interested send me a PM on here. Thanks.

Response to: any advice for this flash? Posted November 11th, 2010 in Animation

I'd advice investing in a quality microphone. If the audio is poor it makes the whole animation less enjoyable

Connecting scenes in animation? Posted November 1st, 2010 in Game Development

Ok so I've been working on various bits of an animation but am currently wondering how to connect one 'stage' and its timeline with another stage and timeline so that the two becomes a seamless cut from one shot to another and can then be rendered as a single flash movie?
