3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsWell, I put everything to loop, but even so, when I do, the button will be useless because when you start playing the main movie in the test, it will run just like any other old animation. I don't want that - and the song will move to the next scene while I like it or not.
What I also did was make a Button symbol (simple play button) and put it next to the animation in the same frame and scene. I put in On(release) {
gotoAndPlay ("Scene 1", 1);
} in action script for the first frame, then at the last frame, I tried
stop(); in the same layer I put as 'Action Script'. The play button is in a different layer.
and it would let me use the button and everything would stop, INCLUDING the animation on the side, which I don't want. I want it to loop until the button goes to the next scene, and for the song to stop after the button is clicked as well.
If you want background animation just make a movie clip or graphic symbol set to loop and animate whatever your after and put it under the play button
Thank you.
While experimenting with Adobe Flash CS5 and occasionally looking up how to create a 'Play' button on youtube, I am unable to find a youtube video that has a tutorial on how to have an animation going on at the same time in the same scene as the play button without it going to the next scene unless you clicked the play button, or prevent the animation(and music) from looping to the next scene. I believe that coding has to do with it and I really don't know how to do it, so if someone can help out or send me a link to a useful tutorial about that particular thing, it would be greatly appreciated!

Considering the awesome prizes, I am definitely in! I hope this contest really happens. That'd be pretty awesome. I am sure you will elaborate about the 'Living with Lolly' stuff. I am going to assume that's your own series/thing?

I am sure you'll do fine. I think you're doing good so far for what you're doing. Just keep working on it.
fisrt off...don't review someones critique if you want someone to elaborate just ask....i think you would benefit from flipping your image during the construction phase so you can see whats wrong because clearly the planning and final construction has some warped shapes...
But I do apologize, I didn't see this before. So that's my bad, but insulting people isn't going to get anywhere, and for the sake of the guy that requested the critique, I don't want this thread to turn into a silly, nonsense argument. I am just going to share my sorry and that's that, considering the dude has some helpful criticism now. Let's just hope to see him improve in the future and wish him the best of luck on doing so.
i did give him advice on how to improve.....Why are you trying to argue with me? and did you write that gassed up critiqe just so you can look like a cunt?
Whoa, refrain from the name calling. I am not trying to be a dick or anything, I am just telling you that won't help him improve. I wrote out that critique, out of my own time, to help the dude out. Nothing more. Please don't make assumptions.
And no problem, man. Glad to have helped out.

When someone asks for a critique, they will expect elaborate answers in order to get an idea onto how to improve. Just giving them a score won't help them with anything but pressure.
Alright, ZelgadisGW. I'll be giving you my personal opinion on all this and I will try not to sound mean, but sometimes you gotta take the negatives as well as the positives, right?
The first picture - I can already tell these are characters from that one anime show 'Naruto'. I should put this out there now, I honestly don't like the show or the manga, and the art isn't the best to copy a style from. While it's not bad, it has more of a western feel than an anime feel and if you're looking towards getting an anime style, there are plenty of generic anime how-to-do tutorials on the internet. Anyway, onto the drawing itself! The shading on both characters are pretty decent as far as logical light source goes, and that's nice because a lot of beginners tend to screw that up by drawing shadows all over the place. Makes a mess, ya know? The face on the girl looks too smooshed, her eyes don't align properly, and her forehead is way too high. Both of their heads look too big compared to their bodies. I like the expression on the guy's face and I like the extra detail on the headband and scarf. His back looks too stiff though. The background with the tree is a nice touch, and simple. Over all, this is a decent piece, but proportions definitely need work.
Second picture - I don't know if this character is from Naruto (since I don't really like it as I have mentioned before, haha), but it looks like you tried to copy the style and it's already bland to me because of that. The hair and eyes gave that away. The hair looks too hard and stiff. You should draw more individual lines, making more hair-strands instead of two thick bangs. The hair bun also looks too stiff, but I like the idea of the pin through it. Again, no complaints about the shading. Breasts are detailed well and don't look too unrealistic as far as shape and size goes. I like her position and her hips. The shadowing above her abdomen looks a little out of place, and I believe it's because it's too dark. The shading below it just makes it look like it's a floating object on its own, so that will throw a few people off. The thighs, hand, and hip look good. Her left(Her left) eye looks too low and her mouth also looks too low. Everything else is alright. You just need to work on your colors of shading and detail in certain places like her hair.
Third picture - Naruto again. Alright. Haha. I know that dude's from Naruto, so it's safe to assume it's from Naruto. Gaara, right? Their heads are too big compared to their bodies. Gaara's pinkie is too short, and the rest of his fingers look way too off because they're low and not exactly layering over one another like they should be. I don't blame you though, because hands are definitely tough to draw! Since their faces are really big, the hands don't look right with how small they are, especially when it's in front of them. They should be bigger. Try learning how to draw from different perspectives. The way you shaded in this one looks a little strange due to some of it being cel shading, and the other being smooth, like on Gaara's sleeves and outfit altogether. It doesn't mix well.
Fourth picture - This is pretty cool and for once it doesn't look like it's from Naruto! I don't have many complaints except for it being really dark, but I suppose you did that on purpose, and anatomy needs work. One arm looks like a limp noodle while the other arm looks like it got a painful broken elbow. I like the detail, the handle of the weapons, and the backgroud.
Last Picture - Oh damn! Oddworld! Now this is something I dig. I don't have any comments about this except it's good and has that nostalgic nature about it.
I hope this helped you out a bit.
the origional title was gonna be "Deviant art is fucking retarded" but I thought people would get bitchy about it.
When I read the title, I thought you were going to talk about how you donated money to a breast cancer charity or something, but then I thought 'wait, this is an art forum...' Lol.
This was a fun read, sort of. The bickering is very elementary, but amusing nonetheless. Nice drawing too for someone who doesn't like anthros.

Firstly, the angling of the horse looks off, especially in its back legs. The one behind the frontal looks like it's broken since it's not thin enough to be completely covered up by the frontal leg and it doesn't seem to connect anywhere since what you would call the hind of the horse is curving diagonally south, yet doesn't align naturally with the lower leg. The frontal legs look too stiff, even for a horse.
I am not the guy to look at horse dicks, but I do believe their girths are thicker than that. Re-size it a bit more realistically.
For the girls, I am confused what the blonde haired girl is doing. Is she just squatting or sitting on the other's leg? The way her feet are positioned makes it look like she's laying in the air instead of squatting. Maybe you could shade underneath. The brunette looks too stiff in the back area and her rump sticks out like a sore thumb. You should make it into a smooth hip curve instead. I am unsure if you're trying to imitate the original style or doing it in your own style, so I'll save that for later.
You should add in some shading so it doesn't look so flat, and the background looks cheap and very plainly drawn.
Other than the criticism and the fact this isn't a theme I personally like myself, I do like the expression on each girl's face. Easy to tell their emotions from their situation. I also like the poses you attempted to capture. They're decent enough to tell what you're trying to do.

Okay. Now THAT'S tasteful (In my opinion). I was always a sucker for soft porn. Make stuff mild like that and you're on the good run, my man.
Man, oh man. People are being rough on this thread. It's like they never seen porn before!
Anyway, your art is decent, Grim4porn, and while it's not the best, I see some potential in here. I also see you're slowly developing with your own style, and that's good! Just look at some anatomy tutorials online (Free and useful!), and try making it less porny with some drawings. If it's strictly smut, it tends to get boring, however, if that's all you want to draw - Tumblr is friendly with that stuff, so is inkbunny, FurAffinity, rule34. List is endless.
Do whatever you think is comfortable for you. Go on practicing!

This is the most motivating advertisement ever. And obviously you're offering a lot of cash to the arteest, rite? Especially since Newgrounds is totally the best place to ask for cover art of Sonic the Hedgehog fanart. Obviously no one else draws Sonic. Nope. Not at all. So extinct. no saunick artz. Good thing I am here! I drew you this beautiful cover art (I know I am really good at shading, please hold the applause!) it's just for you. But I don't know... the others are pretty good too.

Dude, there are three year olds who have ipods, hand-held game systems, and PHONE tablets. If you do some chores around the house, satisfy your parents, and ask for a graphic tablet for your birthday or Christmas, there's a good chance you will get one. I know eight year olds who are careful with expensive things. You can get a good Bamboo tablet for $80. Just be careful with it.
And you can also try free trials for programs like Paint tool SAI, Open Canvas, Paint.NET, GIMP, Photoshop. Options are endless. Just use what you think is comfortable for you.
