Abolish the marriage certificate and replace it with a domestic partnership certificate and to hell with the term marriage. That way, the right can stop crying about the left encroaching on God's will, the left can stop crying about the right discriminating, and the bakers, florists, photographers, etc can stop claiming it goes against their religion to do gay weddings.

At that point, it can be a partnership celebration or something and everyone can be all happy and feel good about it.

Sadly politicians won't do it because it gives both sides rhetoric to rile up their hordes of party loyalist zombies.

Maybe if the thought were to gain popularity? It's a win-win-win-win situation. The religious can have their marriage, gays can get the same rights as straights, the government doesn't have to waste resources going to court over it, and professionals don't have to violate their beliefs.

Thoughts?

I also completely agree on abolishing the marriage certificate and in trade establish a domestic partnership certificate, because getting government involved with marriage also violates the Wall of Separation between State & Religion itself, due to the sheer fact that Marriage involves Religion and shouldn't involve State to begin with.

This is without a doubt one of the big reasons to why people have lost trust with both the Republicans & Democrats alike, and in trade have defaulted to be Independent. If Independents are to rise then they'll rise as a 3rd Major Political Party in par with the Democrats & Republicans the one way I can see this actually happening is becoming a *Body of the Wings*, because without a Body then how can the Wings function properly?

That's simple, Wings won't function without a Body and you need a Body to keep the Wings in check.

For those unfamiliar with Death Battle since Death Battle dose have it's own rules, here's the rules as listed below, keep in mind that these are the original rules seen on at the end of the Death Battle shows but here they are...

1: Combatants possess no non-canon knowledge of each other.
2: To ensure a fair fight, character personality restraints from killing are ignored.
3: All other tracts & tactics are not ignored & are largely attempted to be represented faithfully.
4: Research sources prerequisites are generally determined equally unless specified.

Anyways, here's another Death Battle Picture Idea for any Death Battle fanatics to know, The Final Fantasy Light Warriors Battle Royale.

they always pick the crappiest match ups. jin kazama should fight ryu not scorpion

And as ironic as it dose sound, I've noticed a number of people keep suggesting Jin Kazama from Tekken vs Ryu from Street Fighter for some reason even before Ruy from Street Fighter vs Scorpion from Mortal Kombat became officially confirmed as the 38th upoming One vs One-based Death Battle, the likely reason for this is because both Ryu & Scorpion mascots of their respectful franchises while Jin Kazama on the other hand wasn't even introduced to Tekken franchise until Tekken 3 came out.

On the serious side I was hoping they would actually do Ryu from Street Fighter vs Jago from Killer Instinct, I'm not certain if Wiz & Boomstick ever thought of that before since Jago dose share *much more in common* with Ryu, but on the other hand if Ryu or Scorpion end up as the victor, the victor in trade should fight Jago right afterwords (in otherwords if you like this idea, you all might as well start telling Wiz and Boomstick about it).

Needless to say, I don't ever see Square Enix ever making another Chrono Trigger game and due to the sheer fact SNK filed that criminal lawsuit against Square Enix for over 100 copyright infringements back in Japan due to the manga High Score Girl, for that lawsuit is still on-going even to this day (even if Square Enix somehow wins, they'll still suffer heavily, this I have no doubt).

Then as for another Mega Man game, I think the closest we for that is Mighty No 9 for if Capcom ever dose go bankrupt, people might as well ask Keiji Inafune to buy the rights to Mega Man.

Other games that should also happen as mentioned below...
Another Castle Crashers game
A sequel to Crystalis since SNK planned to do one several years ago (in addition a 3D version of Crystalis with the storyline that comes directly from the NES version)
A canon version of Mega Man X Corrupted (if Keiji Inafune buys the Mega Man rights, he should hire the people responsible for the fan game Mega Man X Corrupted and make it canon)
Either a sequel/prequel to Legend of Dragoon or perhaps even a remake
Gradius VI
Suikoden VI
Salamander III

Snk Sues Square Enix Posted August 8th, 2014 in Video Games

Something I recently found yesterday, not sure if anyone else has noticed this but here's the link and the post from Screwattack as seen below: One of Square Enix's Tokyo offices was recently raided by the police

At 8/7/14 8:00pm, King Meatball I wrote:

According to a report from Siliconera, one of Square Enix's offices located in Tokyo was recently raided by the police as part of an on-going criminal investigation against the company.

The investigation is due to a criminal lawsuit SNK filed against Square Enix earlier in the year. The lawsuit states SNK's claims of having received no compensation for the use of its characters in a manga produced by Square Enix. Besides SNK, Capcom was also considering a lawsuit against Square Enix before settling for an undisclosed amount.

SNK alleges the Square Enix published manga series, High Score Girl, featured characters from its most popular franchises such as King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown, roughly 100 times.

Given the series is heavily centered on Japan's arcade gaming scene, the use of such characters in the plot makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, according to the studio's claims, neither High Score Girl creator Rensuke Oshikiri or Square Enix asked for SNK's permission to use said characters.

SNK officials say they had no idea their characters were being used in HGH until the animation house in charge of producing its anime adaptation contacted them about using the characters and music/audio clips from their respective games in the show. That's when SNK checked out the manga and discovered its characters were used without its blessing. Thus giving the company grounds to launch the lawsuit.

On my personal thoughts, a number of people find it surprising to see this happen due to the fact that while Square Enix has been known to send Cease & Decease letters to fans that have been creating fan-made Chrono Trigger sequels as well as other things such as a English Translation to Final Fantasy Type-0 Square Enix on the other hand never bothered asking permission from SNK to even use their characters for the little known manga called High Score Girl as mentioned above.

And the only reason why it was named Xbox One is because it's *all in one* when it comes to those other applications it had from what I noticed other then the ability to play only Xbox One games.

But I seriously think the worst console name anyone can think of is the Wii U from Nintendo, due to the sheer fact it just doesn't sound right if people know exactly what I mean by.

If only the 8th Generation Xbox system had backwards compatibility including bringing Arcades and Indie games like the Xbox 360 did, only then I be more interested (making it so the Xbox One Kinect no longer a requirement for Microsoft's 8th Generation Console just isn't enough).

Well, if you're legally able to vote in local, state, and federal elections, gamble, and serve in the military with the possibility of dying for your country, you should be allowed to drink. I'll provide more reasons why I think the drinking age should be lowered if this thread can encourage some meaningful discussion and debating.

What are your opinions, Newgrounds?

Age & Maturity just don't mix, with the only one thing that brings Age & Maturity to come close to being together (but not actually mixing together as only coming close therefor) is *growing up* as the people we end up becoming (be it by choice or by force).

It is for this reason that *kids* need to grow up as people first and once a kid is finally done growing up as a person that individual ends up becoming for only then the same individual will go for other interests, be it for simple or a multitude.

In the case of this, having the alcoholic drinking age to 21 and above isn't helping, in fact it's hurting. The reason? Because it's the big reason why a number of people have forgot to why Age & Maturity just don't mix.

Instead of this Age Restricted Alcoholic Drinking Law I rather consider the idea of an *Maturity Test for Alcoholic Drinking*, anyone who passes the test (assuming they already grown up) is allowed to drink alcoholic beverages, and anyone who fails the test isn't allowed to drink alcoholic beverages.

To put it simple, having an Age Requirement for Alcoholic Drinking isn't gonna help, it will only do more harm then good due to the fact some people are just abusive not to mention "very immature" when it comes to drinking alcohol, I care not how old they are.

At 5/19/14 05:48 PM, DoctorStrongbad wrote: Nintendo will be fine, they have an army of lawyers.

Even then I've already noticed Philips actually winning its lawsuit against Nintendo within the United Kingdom alone as mentioned in this link and below. This alone is just hard to believe and yet it's actually happening.

At 6/20/14 7:00PM, Ryan Conway wrote:

As reported by Bloomberg, economic giant of The Netherlands and tech industry leader (and maker of the flop CD-i console) Philips, has won one of its four patent lawsuits against Nintendo.

The U.K. High Court has ruled that "The Big N's" Wii U console (and to a lesser extent, the original Wii) infringes on two Philips patents regarding motion sensing technology. Because of this, Nintendo is due to pay Philips an undisclosed (although likely exceedingly large) cash settlement.

Luckily for "The Big N," judge Colin Birss ruled Nintendo did not infringe upon a third Philips patent pertaining to the modeling of a body in a virtual environment. So that will soften the financial blow a little bit.

In an official statement sent out to members of the press, Nintendo made it quite clear that it plans to file an appeal to this ruling, so the U.K. chapter of the Nintendo/Philips legal battle isn't quite over yet.

“Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. Nintendo is committed to ensuring that this judgment does not affect continued sales of its highly acclaimed line of video game hardware, software and accessories and will actively pursue all such legitimate steps as are necessary to avoid any interruptions to its business.”

This whole mess began in 2011 when Philips alerted Nintendo that its hardware infringed on three Philips patents. After failing to settle things outside of the courtroom, Philips launched four separate lawsuits against Nintendo. One in the U.K., in Germany, one in France, and as we've previously reported, one in the United States.

After this current ruling, I'm sure even more eyes will be on the U.S. patent case, since if Nintendo loses that one, Philips will be given the legal authority to block all Wii U sales in the country...and since America is the biggest console market in the world, that would be a devastating blow to "The Big N."

So if the U.K. court appeal fails, I think there will be a good chance that Nintendo will be willing to offer some sort of royalties settlement out of court.

:We'll have more on this story as it develops.

The moment I noticed that happening is without a doubt one of the most disbelief moments ever known, I just hope Philips doesn't win anymore lawsuits against Nintendo in other nations then the one they already won back in the United Kingdom.

Nintendo seems like they would be able to revive the franchises, but do they have the money to do so? Remember, they are still struggling with the Wii U, and it is slowly bringing down their reserves. I don't know if things will improve in the future.

Also, how would they handle more violent franchises like Resident Evil?

I am a pessimist in this case, and in the case of a Capcom buyout, I have two worst case scenarios I see:

Second worst: Capcom bought by EA.
Worst: Capcom bought by Microsoft.

EA buyout means shoddy Capcom games, while Microsoft buyout means similar fate as Rare. Also, I never showed interest in Microsoft consoles.

Personally I don't even know if Nintendo can even buy the Capcom franchise, especially in light of Philips actually winning its UK patent case against Nintendo. If Philips actually also wins its patent cases against Nintendo in other nations (especially the US which is already happening) will suffer a huge blow to the point where Nintendo won't even be able to do so.

Response to: Capcom to be bought out? Posted June 17th, 2014 in Video Games

Would rather see Capcom go bankrupt over something like this and for several reasons.

1: The number of franchises by their respected creators should be either bought or given back to their respected creators, such as Mega Man going back to either Akira Kitamura or Keiji Inafune as well as Devil May Cry going back to Hideki Kamiya in addition to Resident Evil (Biohazzard in Japan) going back to Shinji Mikami himself.
2: Capcom as a Video Gaming Company made a series of controversial sales tactics that actually involve people having to pay for additional content which is already available within the game's files, most notably in Street Fighter X Tekken.
3: The closer of Clover Studio is without a doubt one of the worst possible moves Capcom has ever made as they been responsible for a series of greatest hits such as Ōkami & Viewtiful Joe (all they needed was just a little help only for that little help to not come when it needed so).
4: Capcom has been responsible for other questionable business decisions, such as not releasing certain games outside of Japan which should of been released due to popular demand.
5: Capcom ended up cancelling anticipated projects in the most abrupt manner imaginable such as Mega Man Legends 3 (the game should of also been released for consoles as well but noooooooo...)
6: All the reasons mentioned above explains why Capcom deserves bankruptcy far more than being bought out by any 1st party developer.

As it turns out, Team Ninja was involved in making it and I personally wished this wasn't even the case to begin with, Yoshio Sakamoto should of known better to simply NOT allow Team Ninja to help out with Metroid: Other M to begin with as one of the major reasons why it was so hated is mentioned below...

From the Wikipedia of Metroid: Other M

Major criticism focused on the script, dialogue,[84] and cutscene length.[83] GameSpot felt that the "unskippable" cutscenes and "the overabundance of story in Other M were a negative deviation from Metroid tradition".[4] Game Informer states that they "often run as long as 15 minutes, exhausting players with repetition of obvious plot points and overwrought dialogue as mature and interesting as a teenager’s diary" and declared Samus as "[t]he biggest culprit in the bad storytelling".[72] 1UP.com complained that as the game progresses "instead of getting more of the things that work [combat], you get more of the things you don't care about [overwrought story]".[67] Reviewers described the dialogue as "sounding like they came from a tween drama"[71] and cited the plot as "the future's dumbest soap opera".[68] Wolinsky echoes the misgivings about Samus' immaturity, petulant behavior, and misguided loyalty.[79] GamePro writes that while the story and Samus' monologues did not compel them, "it helped contextualize her entire existence" which developed the character to "an actual human being who's using the vastness of space to try and put some distance between herself and the past".[76] Contrarily, Justin Haywald of 1UP.com found the portrayal "lifeless and boring" and "nonsensical".[67] G4 TV's Abbie Heppe considered a portrayal of Samus as "sexist"; she wrote that she "cannot possibly wield the amount of power she possesses unless directed to by a man", and found that her anxiety attack cannot be reconciled with her previous portrayals.[71]

Responding to criticism that was raised on the game's story, Yosuke Hayashi explained in a September 2011 interview with G4 TV that it was "definitely the product of Mr. Sakamoto at Nintendo. We definitely worked with them on the project, but that was all him."[85][86] Nintendo Treehouse producer Nate Bihldorff stated that the scene depicting Samus' encounter with Ridley "is not a sign of weakness, but of strength. People who call out that scene as anything but empowering are kind of missing the point".[87][88] He added that "Samus’ story — her voice, her motivations, everything about her — has largely been a matter of individual perception, especially in the US, where people haven’t read any of the official manga related to her childhood."

Other Links like "Interview with Nate Bihldoff" as well as "Dial Other M for Murder: Is the Metroid Series Dead?" also point out to why the hatred for Metroid: Other M came to being.

Also, the same can be said for violence, sometimes. If you aren't the target.

Sparring, sparring is fun; sometimes.

As if the perpetrators of the crime just weren't taught self-control from their very parents, in trade tragedy results. In other words don't blame the video games themselves as they are only meant for entertainment purposes, blame the very parents that never taught their kids the meaning of self-control especially if the kids where already sane to begin with.
