Does the horrible voice acting play any integral role in that? Because I know the second I hear it, I'll be so angry that it ruined such an awesome moment.

I concur. Hopefully other things will get implemented, although last year was way too epic to be topped.

You got to be shitting me. It came out like 2 weeks ago, and you're getting ~$14 for it? I'd put it up on Ebay (like scetch said) and sell it for more. You know Amazon is going to sell it for $40-$50.
MGS 4
Meh, it's a classic that should be kept on the shelf to be revisited, but I can understand why you'd sell it.
Haze
I'm surprised someone actually bought that.
AvP Extinction (Xbox 1)
I heard that wasn't all that bad of a game. That's where you played as the Predator and roamed around the city GTA style, fucking shit up, right?

There.
The multiplayer is fun (From what I played of the demo). I mean, it's a lot of fun. My friends also enjoy it, much more than MW2's online, and he's a complete faggot.
If it does not offend you, good sir, may I inquire as to what videogames will be sold?

Meh, it's not that big of a deal. How many people actually install another OS in their PS3's? It's a cool feature, but only to those who would like another machine to run Lenux.
Also Just Cause 2 and Pokemon HG/SS is a deadly combination. Not to mention I still have FFXIII, Bioshock 2 and Brutal Legend to finish. I'm glad April is a barren month for games.
Yeah, hopefully I'll have enough time to catch up on all of my games. I've got plenty of games I've been hoping to work towards the platinum, if not get it.

Unless you're actually excited about a modern twist.
I don't know, it's a bit early to say it's going to be a bad game. It could be interesting how they make it modern. I'll wait before I make a decision though.

But I'm not sure if want. It could turn out like a Modern Warfare 2, only with the power of the gods, or it could turn out like God of War 3 in New York City (or where ever).
At 3/23/10 10:56 AM, Yokumashu wrote: Most complaints i here about is the lack of cross-game chat. You can't talk to someone if they are playing a different game then you are.
I think that's more of a minor thing. I think the main reason is that A) the social networking aspect of XBL is much better, especially since a mic comes with the subscription and it's easier to find and play with friends; B) it had an established network already in place, making a lot of what Sony do a lot of catching up while they didn't need to do anything.
I think the PSN premiun service is adding this in, but PSN will still be free. If you get the premiun service i think you get cross-game chatting, extended warranty, and some other stuff.
The premium service is still an idea that either hasn't got much traction at Sony HQ, or is still in deep hiatus until people have money. Details came out about it 6 months ago or so, and I haven't heard anything since.
But I think that you're hearing a mostly old argument. The PSN has cleaned up a bit, adding a lot of the features that are in XBL over the last 2 years, making most complaints moot.

That you are buying something that would have been called a demo if it didn't cost $10 and have a marketing-approved name.

If you read the article, you'd realize that it wouldn't give you a discount, as of the plan so far (or before the other article). You'd pay to play the demo, then pay full price for the game when it came out.

How long is it anyway?
I'd say it's a solid 8-12 hour game, depending on how long it takes for puzzles and exploring for secrets. And deaths. There's a certain points at the end where the difficulty curve skyrockets. I'll give you a hint (which may be spoilers, but I don't know how obvious the hints are, so continue at your own peril) - turning spiked room, exploding dogs, and Street Fighter brawl.
Oh, and I beat God of War 3. Great, great ending, although, like I said, I was completely
Spoilers:
Absyssus - this isn't Heavy Rain; the ending doesn't change depending on your actions. God of War is linear in the strictest sense.
Also, There's a slight hint at the end to the next game. Zeus tells Gaia that she "should have picked the other one" when he's talking about how Kratos betrayed her and failed anyway. Now, Kratos's brother is Hercules, which he may have been referring to, although I think that it's a mysterious brother that hasn't been revealed yet, and will be revealed in GoW4. My question is, is who will he fight? The only recognizable god left is Athena, and she's a semi-benevolent ghost.

Also, you all heard about this thing where you get linked to a 'secret' god of war page when you get a platinum trophy? Looks like something else is coming :D
I haven't finished the game, but I did see the page. It seems like the shield in the upper right hand corner is a timer - yesterday, only the top right section had any red in it, but today the top left has a bit of red in it.
Obviously, that 5th dangling head is the newest edition to the series.
What I find interesting is the dried, cracked land right next to the lake as it rains. Not sure what that means, but it's got to represent something.
That upside down V doesn't mean shit though. It's a lambda - the 11th letter in the Greek alphabet, and was painted on Spartan shields, since it represented the region Sparta is in.
Oh, and started playing God of War 3. It's pretty much like the last 2, but much more visceral, gory much prettier. They've cleaned up the game play mechanics a bit, although one or two things still feel a bit clunky.
Needless to say, this game is infinitely more bad ass than iterations with battles against Poseidon, Hades and Helios (sun god). And that's just the first 3 hours. Definitely worth the price if you enjoyed the first 2 games.

I completely understand. But if you want to continue this piece, follow Coop's and Sinfulwolf's advise and read a bit of well-written erotica. It'll help you understand what makes smut good and what makes it bad. At the very least, you might pick up some tips on writing in general.
i hope this at least provided some entertainment.
Don't get me wrong, imagining it in my head was great, but reading it wasn't as much.
Picked up my GOW3 today, although I haven't had a chance to play it. I got work out of my ass.
At 3/16/10 02:51 PM, Centurion-Ryan wrote: God of War isn't a series that you need to have followed from the first one to understand.
Yeah, there's not much going on in the story, at least to the point where you couldn't follow it if you jumped in today.
Although, the story isn't horrible. It's got a twist or 2, and if you're familiar (but not completely knowledgeable) with Greek mythology, it's cool to see what they've done with the titans, gods, goddesses, and heroes to make them fit with Kratos.
At 3/16/10 12:58 AM, sinfulwolf wrote: It was a rather interesting piece. I really didn't know what you were going on about until the end, but that's not a problem. Not as I see it anyway. The end was very well put, and I really enjoyed this piece. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. I really wasn't sure if I wanted it to end with "I want to experience Life", which kind of gives everything I was trying to convey away. But at the same time, it's very vague, especially at the beginning, and many readers probably wouldn't have known what I was talking about.
At 3/16/10 12:43 AM, sinfulwolf wrote: That's all I got for ya. Keep practicing, writing good smut is not as easy as it seems.
I agree with everything you said.
I'd just like to add that you need to use less periods and more commas, and changing up sentences to keep a good flow going. It's very staccato, and ruins any flow you had. For example, the sentence "Her top shirt button was undone. She was wearing a white blouse" could be changed to "The top shirt button of her white blouse was undone". This makes the scene much shorter, but also feel more natural.
A simple I wrote while riding on a bus, and thought it was a good metaphor for my life.
---------
I am sitting on the Bus
There is no light inside
The seats are made of ice
My back is against the window
There are a million Suns outside
They are grabbing at me
But their warm hands do not reach me
I look over my shoulder
I ask the driver to stop
He says he does not know how
I see we are heading to the Tunnel
He does not hear my protests
I look at my watch
It goes at an impossible rate
I look at the Suns
They quickly pass by
I fear I will never walk with the Suns
I fear I will reach the tunnel too soon
I want to get off the Bus
I want to experience Life
To me, it depends on how significant the detail is to the story, and how inaccurate you're thinking about making it.
Like time lines and jobs in CSI. There's no way DNA or fingerprints can be matched as quickly as the show hints at, and rarely do CSI's go into the field. And they never switch their jobs (this guy does fingerprints, this guy does DNA; they don't hop from machine to machine). But very few people know that, and it doesn't really matter to the story at hand, so it's acceptable.
But something like the movie 10,000 BC, where there are woolly mammoths attacking ancient Egypt, and early man has to fight dinosaur-eque creatures, the line of historical inaccuracy is crossed, as those events are vital to the action and story.
But if you're going to say that a guard had an iron sword when he should really have a bronze sword, it doesn't really matter.

Why hope about something that will never happen? COD isn't about the single player anymore, so why would they waste time making DLC for it? Hell, they barely wasted time on the new DLC.

Well, we are still friends (if you want us to be), although I've barely had time for a life recently (college is a bit more important that honing my Uncharted 2 multiplayer skills). It's just that I don't usually agree with you in arguments.
Also, going away. Again. Although this time I've got my PS3 and an online connection.
It's a strange feeling, agreeing with scetch.

He's talking about buying Fifa every year, not playing it a bit then forgetting about it. And I can play a game often and still enjoy as much as the first time.
What I, and scetch, are talking about, is the fact that Fifa 11 will be the same as Fifa 10, only with a slight graphical improvement (if at all) and different rosters (which now can be updated anyway). There's no point in buying Fifa 11 if you already own Fifa 10. Unless, of course, they take down the online servers.
Fifa is always far cheaper than other games, and for a game you can play all year £20-30 is well worth it.
A bit different then here in America (yearly sports games $60), but it still isn't a good enough reason. You can pay the few pounds and get Fifa 10's roster updated every week/month/year/whatever time frame they do it.
Also:
Uncharted > Uncharted 2.
Same fucking game.
More like vastly improved game. Story aside, Uncharted 2 was practically perfect in every single way, and Uncharted 1 is above average.
Any Call of Duty game > Any Call of Duty game after that first one.
Same fucking game.
I'll give you that one, with the exception of MW and MW2 (which are the same game anyway).
But it's not about the basic mechanics. By your logic, there's no difference between the original Doom and Bioshock. What makes each game different (usually) is the story, the controls, the weapons/items and the various new mechanics and graphics added. Each game, while similar to the previous installment or other games in the genre, is wholly different.
For instance, Uncharted 2. You still play as Nathan Drake, hunting for some treasure, avoiding humans-turned-creates, trying to bang Elena. But in Uncharted 2, you visit vastly different regions, fight a larger variety of bad guys, get a larger variety of weapons, and of course, the train level.
Fifa 11, on the other hand, is still going to be Man U against Real Madrid, except now the crotch sweat will be more realistic.

Because they wanted to show that yes, this game is better than MW2's online and create a whole bunch of pre-release hype.
In this day and age, if you're an FPS that doesn't "challenge" MW2 for online, you might as well never release the game.

And when you were in the typewriter store, I know remember that there wasn't a back door, so the killer had to be Scott. But other than that, I didn't see much of anything that would even lead me to suspect he was the killer.
Overall, it's a great game. There are plenty of moments when you're just as tense, frantic, or unsure as the characters, and the music and visuals are wonderful. The voice acting isn't always 100%, but it's serviceable.Yeah personally I fucking loved it, but then I was a huge fan of Fahrenheit or Indigo Prophecy so I was always going to love this next 'interactive drama'. It actually felt much longer than the 10-12 hours I took to beat it. I think there was just so many tense moments that I felt I took too long to do, when in reality it was only a few seconds.
I know it's been a while, but I've come back with something a bit more streamlined, based on what you guys have said. I'm hoping to get a few more critiques on whether this newer version is any good.
