It's easy to introvert and to become mired down in your own problems and ideas and without being able to extrovert and see other things you just become more and more mired, so it's important to change the shape of these things whether it be via poetry, art, music, or even just talking to people online about what's going on in that head of yours.

I love writing music. This is a good example of what I do.

I also enjoy voice-over acting and acting in general even though I've only been in one play and didn't get to say a word.

Here's my "voice-over" channel.

I also love dancing when I'm in the mood for it. Nobody in my family, including my own mother and father didn't know I could dance well until I was 20 years old.

As a psychology major I suggest you don't take any drugs for depression as they won't make you feel any better, they'll just replace the depression with a sort of mindlessness. You'll be walking around able to communicate with things and you might not feel depressed, but you won't feel any other sort of emotion either, which is not a good sacrifice. There are other, better ways of getting rid of depression. Statistically speaking you're better off being drug-free in that sense.

What you should do is try to find an outlet, a suitable communication line in which you can vent out all of those feelings and thoughts you carry, so they don't drag you down and be a burden.

Like what for example? I'm interested in any good advice someone has to offer. I don't take any medication, cause I use natural remedies for any problems I have. So, you don't have to worry about me taking unnecessary medication.

Well, I've been diagnosed with ADD, Minor Dyslexia, and Asperger's and Anxiety Attacks (Which I usually can control now.). So, you could say...Yes, I am feeling rather depressed by it. It's affecting my job that I'm actually grateful for, It's affecting my music, and it's generally affecting me.

I'm not trying to sound emo or anything like that. But I feel like I can't fit in anywhere I go. I have hidden shyness that I try to mask by trying to be social that sometimes comes on way too strong to some people. I have trouble finishing projects I start sometimes, even though I have a great love for what I do. I feel as if it's because if it does not sound perfect to me, then I give up and quit. I cannot follow simple instructions from time to time, because it's hard for me to find focus when I'm thinking of something else. I try to appear to be happy around others. And I'm apparently a good actor. Because everyone thinks I am happy. I'm not thinking about offing myself or anything. But it's very distressing to me.

If so, you should be thanking Newgrounds' users for helping you grow thicker skin.

You're taking people on the Internet too seriously. It's bad for your health.

I signed up to this website with the illusion that it was full of intellectual people with unbiased opinions who could understand the points of others opinions and not shoot them down everytime they stated their thoughts on a subject. I seem to have been mislead. Correct me if I am wrong. And don't just state something like "Fine then. You are wrong."

I've been posting music on here for awhile now and have gotten some reviews. But, I'd honestly like to hear the opinions of a fair amount of users. I want your God-honest opinion and am willing to accept any constructive criticism you have to offer. You don't have to listen to all the tracks linked here. Just one or two will do fine.

Well, think of it this way. If you really love what you do, don't worry about how many fans or views you have. More will come in time if you focus on your work instead of worrying about fans. In other words. If you love your music. Then that's good enough. Consider the fans you get in the future, the icing on the cake of your passion for music.

The good news of this is that you deserve to be applauded for sitting down and taking music seriously. Congratulations! You're on the first step to producing great music. But of course this is Newgrounds, where everyone hates everyone, so no one is going to applaud you. Even moderators are pretty rude.

Of course. People can like what they want. The title of this post is pretty dumb I'll admit, but I still stand by what I say on the fact that the musicians who put so much of their time into one composition to make sure it reaches close perfection get ignored a lot and it honestly breaks my heart. It makes me feel like I don't have a chance in this world for what I like to do. Like I'll never be able to share my sounds with others and possibly make a living from it to support my family.

We've already found our personal definition of what good music is, if not evolving that definition. Someone's choice in musical taste shouldn't be frowned upon just because they enjoy being spoon fed. In fact, I would think most people do a combination of both curiously digging around for songs and other times sitting back letting play whatever happens. You can't blame someone for being comfortable. I do agree, there is a bias in what is being widely exposed, but there are a lot of people out there who don't follow the herd too. And obviously, what's mainstream today will be considered old news a century from now. Even the future in a few years holds an array of possibilities.

But at the end of the day, you believe what you want to believe in and you're not stupid for doing that because art has no definitive answer.

*flower petals*

Also a great point and I'm okay with someone having different tastes, but when someone is able to listen to an artist playing a single sawtooth wave being played for 3 minutes while messing around with some knobs and consider that music without having any second thoughts about it, seems a bit unfair to people who can play instruments with beautiful execution having their talent be ignored or tossed aside for these so called, other artists.

You actually prove a good point, although I never said I hate all modern music. I'm stating that the unknown musicians who put their time and effort into their compositions also deserve a chance to be known at least on a somewhat greater scale than 5 or 10 fans.
