How did you find Newgrounds? Posted October 5th, 2014 in General

I remember my story so clearly for some reason. It was 2009. I was browsing a website called IMEEM or something like that. I am unable to find it now though. I had come across the 1st episode of a series called SMBZ by AlvinEarthworm. I could not find the other episodes on the website. So, I preceded to use yahoo to find the others. I then came across the only site that had the rest of the episodes at the moment, which was you guess it. Newgrounds. I had watched the series all the way up to episode 6 which was the latest one at the time being. After that I preceded to browse the site a little more. I watched other animations, played games. There was one game I played called Keyboard hero. Which led me to 2 of the greatest NG artists of all-time. Waterflame and Cornandbeans. I was so inspired by the music coming from artists like these on this site. I found out what program they used. And downloaded it as soon as possible. I started an experimental channel that did okay. Fast forward 5 years later. And here I am. What's your story?

Hmm. I guess I should recheck that one. :T

I don't know. I honestly find Soundgoodizer to be a useful vst for weak basses. But to each his own, I guess.

Synthmaker in Fl Studio. Never wanted to bother with that one.

Men need women and women need men. No gender should be considered higher than the other.

I really appreciate the help everyone has given me. I will most definitely apply it to my piano playing.

that's a god damn amiga. h0ffman is the end times.

That part when the song reversed and started flipping out. I got a music boner.

I'm surprised I actually even made it on one list. This is one of the most fun things I've ever done. You guys rock and this site rocks!

good to see some familiar names in those favourite lists! surprised to not see h0ffman, strobe or cerror mentioned though, those guys are the end times. also ctrix, amazing musician and top bloke, but also wrote a tracker for atari2600 and working on one for SNES now.

Strobe was freaking awesome. I still love those animations he did on OpenMPT. Greatest thing ever.

Seconded. I'm having growling effects between pauses.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one having this problem. I've been doing everything to fix it. And now I find out it's just how it is. There's three days well spent. *sigh*

In their audio, I mean. I'm hoping I'm not the only one going through this and it's just a bug in the latest update of something like flash player, java, etc... Comments, anyone?

It has better search results. But I'd like to see a look similar to the old one, but having the results you get in the new one. Good job otherwise.

Well, I don't know. Your caveman zombies song is pretty catchy. Sounds like you may not understand music theory. But you seem to understand how notes fit together well.

I have a lot of favorite tracking artists from the demoscene and games: ArchAngel (both Ronny Nilsen and the one from Norway), Nemesis (of KLF and Renaissance fame) , the late great Richard Joseph, ManiacsofNoise, Chris Huelsbeck, Prob/Probe, 4Mat, Patrick Phelan, and Purple Motion...and so on.

I assume by "Amiga" you're referring to The Ultimate SoundTracker by Karsten Obarski (the one that started it all).

Purple Motion is freaking awesome. And if I'm not mistaken, Amiga Tracker was used to make the music in Mortal Kombat.

Age can have an influence on motivation. I wouldn't have learned guitar if I knew it'd never get me laid when I was 13.
