Response to: Most physically painful experience? Posted October 20th, 2014 in General

Although it isn't the most PAINFUL thing I've experienced, I was staying at my cousins' place for a few days, but it was cut short when I became allergic to something in the area. It became so hard to breathe that my chest began to burn from the amount of effort I had to put into attempting to fill up my lungs with air. We were out in the middle of flipping nowhere, so I had to sit in agony for an hour or two and wait for my mom to come get me and take me out of there, slowly feeling my condition getting worse and worse.

Although it isn't the most painful thing I've ever experienced, it's probably one of the the most terrifying things I've ever experienced in the sense that I felt like I was going to die.

We'd call it the United Nations and get away with it, except for those few angry terrorist that needed to be snuffed out...

What if Alexander the Great had conquered the entire known world from the Atlantic to the Pacific?
His related summon would have played a much greater (hah) role in Final Fantasy 7. Muse would have made a song called Knights of Macedonia instead. Leif Erikson would have decided to stay in America and turn it into his own viking empire to battle the inevitable rise of a unified but corrupt eastern hemisphere. The "fat stupid self-important" country of the world would be the United States of New Macedon. Also, McDonalds wouldn't exist.

What if when Joan of Arc was sentenced to be burned at the stake, she pulled some action hero shit and busted out of the place, blade gloriously flinging blood and guts everywhere, vowing to bring true justice to the world?

*edit* ALSO SINCE WHEN CAN YOU EDIT POSTS? WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

Even IF Joan of Arc could've attempted and accomplished such a feat, she would still be eventually hunted down and be tried for not only witchcraft, but for murder as well, and would be burned at the stake, this time with more security at hand. The church was still powerful and its influences spread far and wide at the time, so it wouldn't have taken long for her to be found and taken into custody. Unless she became REALLY good at disguising herself- because there were no such things as photographs to go by back then, only descriptions and drawings- and/or staying on the move for the rest of her life, she'd unfortunately just be prolonging her death. Well that was depressing to write.

Oh, and also, the editing thing in the BBS hasn't been around for that long. Just a few months at the most.

What if the French never sent their troops and money to help the Americans fight the British? Try to include the effects it would have on the outcome of the Revolutionary War, and how it would change the French Revolution as well.

This was only posted February of last year, but it's still pretty bad.
This would be about the time I realized I'm never going to be an artist of any sort, and just gave up on pursuing that hobby.

Comic Con 2014 Posted September 7th, 2014 in General

Who/what did you go as to Comic Con? Where was it located? Did you see anyone famous? Did you buy any art, comics, or games from up and coming artists and developers? If you havent gone yet, are you planning on going the next time its held close to your area? If you have been, would you go again if you had the chance?

I went as Slenderman in the Salt Lake City Comic Con with my sister yesterday, and got to meet up with my good friend, dave-simon, a fellow Newgrounder that Im actually friends with in realy life. Many people had their photo taken with me, including an official photo company, and an eagle with someone I think was a photographer for Comic Con, so Im glad to know my costume was so well received. I got to see the greats like Stan Lee(From quite the distance), Gus from Breaking Bad, the original Incredible Hulk, one of the guys from Mythbusters, Napoleon Dynamite, Pedro, and many others that I cant think of the name for right now. I didnt even know I would be able to go until a few days before the event, so I didnt save up any money to get anything there, so I did more of sight seeing than anything else. Im definitely going to go next year, and Im saving up for the even too. I highly recommend it.

Having been a non-Mormon in a very Mormon community for like 95% of my life, AKA Utah, I can give you even more insight built on top of what Yurgen has said. There are 3 different kids of Mormons.
1. The really cool kind that actually dont give a fuck what religion you are or what you believe, because they follow Mormonism for spiritual reasons, not out of fear. As long as you are cool, they dont care. There are many people who ACT like they are of this type, but only a small amount of them exist.
2. The really messed up strict Mormons that will basically have nothing to do with you if youre not part of their religion. When my family stopped going to church when I was two years old, we were ostracized by my moms side of the family for quite a long time, which is fucking huge, so thats a lot of people shunning you. We were also ostracized by almost the entire neighborhood. Some of my moms "closest" friends stopped coming over, and as I got older, there were kids who said they couldnt play with me anymore, Im sure because their parent found out I was Mormon. Because of this I had a very small amount of friends. as a little kid. Ever been given religious cards and told youre going to be struck by lightning and burn in hell multiple times before youre like 13 years old? These people follow Mormonism not through spirituality, but through fear. Some of my extended family on my moms side falls into this group, as my aunt knew of my uncle molesting her kids 3 TIMES before she did anything about it, as she was afraid of breaking up the family. Messed up, right? Most of the Mormons, again, depending on where you live, are categorized into this group of people.
3. The Mormons who are the worst at being Mormons, but try to pretend they are, whether its out of their own ignorance, or if they just do it so people will stay off their backs. These are the coolest kind a lot of the time, because theyre willing to talk about things that other Mormons arent. They seem to understand the bigger picture, and are more accepting towards others when it comes to things like religion. Like the first option, very few people fall into this category in my opinion, but there is even a smaller amount than the cool Mormons.
TL;DR
Some Mormons can be really cool, but depending on where you are, most of the people in the area tend to be really fear-driven, and not worth hanging around, if theyre even willing to hang out with people who arent Mormon.

Response to: Favorite Gameboy game Posted July 5th, 2014 in Video Games

When I was a little kid I would always play Super Mario Bros Advanced, and although its definitely not the best game made on the Gameboy Advanced, it has the most nostalgic value to me.

Response to: Games you recommend on my new PC Posted July 5th, 2014 in Video Games

The Binding of Isaac is an awesome game to own for those of us with lower spec computers. Before I got my own computer, I was able to play the Binding of Isaac, Penumbra: Black Plague (I dont remember if I could run Amnesia well), the Portal series, Castle Crashers, and Oblivion all on my shitty XP that was definitely on the brink of death.

Response to: Favorite GTA character. Posted July 5th, 2014 in Video Games

I own all of the GTA games that are avaliable on Steam currently, and my favorite so far is Niko. I havent played Vice City yet, but so far, Niko seems to be the more dynamic character out of all of them in my opinion. But then again, Im kinda pissed at GTAIV right now because it just randomly stopped booting up on my Steam account XD.
