Response to: Sonic Music vs Mario Music Posted February 9th, 2005 in General

Id have to say there are more memorable and quality Mario songs than Sonic. You have to remember here this isnt just the Mario Platformer games. This counts Mario Paint, Mario Kart/64 and so on. Sonic has had much fewer games based on the franchise that are well known and distributed. Both have kickass songs though. From the original Super Mario Bro.'s Mushroom Kingdom tune to Super Mario World / RPG to Mario 64 / Kart 64 to Mario Sunshine. Sonic has had great hits like the Green Hill Zone and Ice Cap Zone, the demo for Sonic Adventure on the long forgotten Dreamcast back in the day gave a taste of some of the great music you would hear. Personally, I think they are both their own kind of music. Sonic tends to be more fast paced and energized, while Mario is more happy and slower for the most part. Anyway, both roxor.

Response to: Voting 0 Posted February 6th, 2005 in NG News

Someone has been voting a score of 0 on all the videogame songs in the Audio Portal. Not 1 song is over a 4.00 rating anymore....its crazy. Last night there were like 17 over 4.00.

Response to: Best Music Program Posted February 3rd, 2005 in Where is / How to?

FL Studio can be used to make entire songs if you know how to use it. If your new to music I would go with FL. The best program in my opinion is Cubase. But you need some $_$ for it as well as experience with music. If I was you I would go to the FL site and DL the demo and see how you like it. It doesnt save anything being its a demo but at least you can see what you are capable of.

Chances are that it's going to suck. 99% of every video game movie on Newgrounds was fucking retarded (The only exception is Mario Twins). Please reconsider, and make YOUR OWN IDEA.

Thats not all true lol you should see Sprite Survivor, if you were around back in the days of 8 bit and 16 bit games its pretty damn funny. Anyway, back to the topic, yes the Video Game Music section of this site is there for a reason :-p.

lol, I'll help you out. Send me an AIM @ TenchuOCR

Response to: music on ng Posted January 31st, 2005 in General

I just got Reason 2.5 actually and I'm about to do it. I know you can because my friends have done it. It works like a VST would I believe. Also, yes Cubase and Reason together can give you very nice music. But if you compair Reason and FL they both have ups and downs. Cubase however is a pro tool.

Response to: Metroid Music Posted January 31st, 2005 in General

I got a Super Metroid Remix I have yet to post on NG's Audio Portal. AIM me if you want it.

Response to: music on ng Posted January 31st, 2005 in General

Fruity Loops can be very pro sounding if you know how to use it. If you really want to make top notch professianl music. Some great programs are Cubase + Reason 2.5 + Soundforge. If you have FL though you can rewire Cubase and Reason 2.5 into it :p. But, its a pretty penny to get them all lol. Also, I honestly dont know many people if any who use Acid Pro :-/

You could always ask people who make videogame music in the Audio Portal to help you out lol

Response to: Electronic Music Club Posted January 29th, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

I'll join the club, being that I enjoy Electronic Music and make it. For the most part the electronic music I hear are videogame remix's. My fav people out of that class are bLiNd and Haroon Piracha "talked to them both =)." But as for techno/trance I like PPK and TSV if you have ever heard of them.

There is an idea, however, which has a much better chance of being done; a music request form for flash authors that musicians can browse through and try to meet.

Thats also a good Idea in conjunction with the board :p

Response to: An Audio Board??? Posted January 25th, 2005 in General

I just think with an entire section of NG devoted to the Audio Portal it would make sense. I dont see Political Portal, but thats a board :p. It just makes sense to have a board for audio. Also HouseMasta is right, more features for audio would probably get more musicians into the portal.

An Audio Board??? Posted January 25th, 2005 in General

Do you think NG will ever put up an Audio Board. With an entire section of the site devoted to the Audio Portal I think it would be a cool and smart thing to do. It would be able to to let musicians like myself have a better way of contacting chatting with other ones and also allow Flash people to get music help for their work in a designated area where they would be sure to find the help they need fast. Anyway, just wondering if there has been any thought into doing this here on NG. I'm sure it would get lots of posts and activity.

I just use FL Studio 4 with plugins, wav files and stuff and it does me just fine :-)

A few friends an I are capable of doing a lot of art, music, script and the vocals but none of us know how to do flash. We are hunting for someone or ones who are skilled in this and would like to help us in our series. It is going to be a comedy based on life in the world of 2 types of gamers, I will give information about the project to whoever is interested.
