LadyGrace: That's eerie because that's exactly how my gmail account looks. I have only the welcoming email and one from Shrike. Creepy.

BWS! As I live and breathe!
Everyone, let me introduce you to the man who single-handedly destroyed the Politics Crew. (Just kidding)
How's it going, BWS? Not a lot new around here, other than a lot more mods, some new regs, the usual.

I think fli has said it far more eloquently than I could/would have. Total agreement and excellent wording.

And my glasses are those Transitions kind that turn into sunglasses, so I have a burn on my arms and my whole face except around my eyes.

Ow. My arms and face are painfully sunburned. Who the hell gets a sunburn in April!

Last time I go outdoors. Ever.

Really? Huh. How about that. And I had been being pro-Denmark for years, thinking they were the most forward thinking country in Europe. Still better than some, I suppose.

Silly me.

It is a shame, though. I honestly cannot understand why someone would want to restrict the rights. I've heard the arguments, I've participated in the debates, but I still cannot get inside the heads of the other side.

Sorry, wrong year, wrong country. Denmark has allowed same-sex marriages since 1988.

It was the right decade, the right part of the world. Cut me some slack. ; )

Response to: 04/14/05 OR cancels gay marriages Posted April 14th, 2005 in Politics

Let's look at Holland. Same-sex marriages since 1986. Come for the wooden shoes, stay for the moral chaos.

You're not alone in that, Empanado. I've never done drugs, and alcohol has little effect on me. Obviously a great amount of it does, but it runs through my system quickly, so I don't bother drinking to get drunk, as it takes too much.

JoS, Hmmm. We had a similar problem with the AAHC, but they were posting links to underage pictures, so...provided you had some form of a warning regarding it's content, I would say it's alrite, JoS. But then, again, I'm usually a bit more liberal in my interpretation of the rules than some of the others.

I'm glad to hear that despite you having problems, Wraith, you keep your head about you to a greater extent than most. The fact that you can admit to having some difficulties and still maintain some coherence in your life is a good sign. Have you ever looked into some form of therapy? I realize the BBS is hardly the place to discuss it, but you should give it some consideration. I scorned it for years but it actually turned out to be the key.

How odd. People complain that my wardrobe is plain and boring and lacking colour. Most of my clothes are grey or black or tan. My favourite pants are my tan pants. Everyone insists that they're "khakis", but I maintain they're Tan-Pants. I love them.

You people do need to calm down. How likely is a new user to come back if all the first posts he sees are "OMG STFU"?

That, and you're more likely to get banned for posting in this thread than he is for making it.

Well. I opt for a bath and a cup of tea instead of being online and disaster strikes without me.
I'm very proud of how well everyone reacted, and very glad indeed that Wraith changed his mind.

I do care about your well-being, Wraith, and everyone else's, even if I don't know you quite as well as Shrike and Maus do.

Perhaps the reason people can vote on audio is so we can get everyone's opinion, rather than a thread devoted solely to your own?

I'm feeling slightly ill. I made "Candy Bar Squares" today (chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, butterscotch, marshmellow, etc) and ate more than I should have.

I've read "The Truth" by Pratchett. An odd novel, to be sure, but I enjoyed it.

I had thought the U.S. was requiring them of Canadians but Canada was not yet asking them of Americans.
The Canadian Minister of Immigration (Anne McLellan?) said a few days ago they may retaliate with the same measure for U.S. citizens. It's ridiculous. "Let's encourage tourism by making it both expensive and difficult to cross the border!"

What we should do, as Canadians, is ignore the U.S. regulation, continue to follow the procedures we currently have in place and move on with our lives as we did before. It's only compounding the problem by making both sides participate.

Everyone who can correctly answer a knowledge-based question regarding the books when they purchase a ticket to see the movie should each get an old, ratty towel, a bag of peanuts and sub-ether "thumb" so we can get the hell of this planet.

I picked up on it after seeing the trailer with Marvin in it. However it's a little unreal in Firefox, as I don't think Marvin has ever moved as fast as he does in my browser.

I try every time I see Shrike. It's just a knee-jerk reaction.

And next time I bake something with honey in it I'll mail you some, fli. You are my next-door-neighbour, after all.

I hear human saliva is good for that.

Honestly, though, a relevant point of interest- bacteria cannot grow in honey. I didn't know that. Next time I get an animal bite or lose a limb or something I'll just cover the wound with sweet, delicious honey.

Oh, and enough of the drama. Internet+Politics+Drama=Not cool.
