I often feel like steak when I've had too much to drink.

When I sober up I remember that I'm human.

Response to: Saddam Confesses Posted September 7th, 2005 in Politics

He probably didn't confess to everything he has done, just admitted that some things happened.

"So, you ordered the Dujail killings?"
"Some people in Dujail died, yes."
"Aha!"

"What are you eating under there?"
"Under where?"
"Aha!"

Response to: Questions about tolerance Posted September 6th, 2005 in Politics

The general rule of thumb that I find helpful is this:
I can do anything I want so long as it does not infringe upon your right to do what you want.

Tolerate anything that another does, so long as it makes no negative repercussions for others. This can be skewed with a statement such as "You can't eat your cake because it infringes upon my right to eat your cake", but you get the idea.

You can have whatever opinion you like about what you tolerate. Tolerance is exactly that- the toleration of something. It does not mean support, simply a lack of antagonism against it. Your opinions have as much right to be tolerated as anyone else's.

Response to: Intelligent Design Theories. Posted September 5th, 2005 in Politics

Any idea that fails to use Occam's Razor is generally regarded as a pseudoscience. Intelligent Design fails to use it. Therefore, ID has no place in science classrooms, except as a trival footnote, an example of a pseudoscience.

I have read them. I was looking for some biblical justification against Same-sex marriage, not sex. I'm not even discussing sex right now.

Response to: Gay Marriage Posted September 5th, 2005 in Politics

In Corinthians it is stated that everything not forbidden is permissable. By this logic since God does not speak about the marriage of homosexuals, he does not forbid it. Is this point agreed on?

I won't speak of sex until this is settled.

Response to: Intelligent Design Theories. Posted September 5th, 2005 in Politics

It would probably be better classified as a pseudoscience.

You really think God supports same-sex marriage?

I have heard plenty of mis-uses of the Bible against homosexual relations (sex), but I have yet to hear one that actually relates to marriage. Many are relating to Sodom and Gomorrah, lying with a man as one does a woman, etc, but I have never actually read a bible passage stating "Thou shalt not exchange metals bands with a man as one does with a woman. It is an abomination."

Would you supply some documentation as to why God is against Same-Sex Marriage?
Leave sex out of it.

Response to: Intelligent Design Theories. Posted September 5th, 2005 in Politics

Let's move this debate away from monkey trees.

Alright. Before a debate can be had on this, you need to lay out what an acceptable source of documentation is.

Is the Bible acceptable to support ID?
Intelligent Design is a much more reputeable idea when it is not directly attributed to the Christian God. It gains a much wider appeal, and becomes less of a niche idea, and more of one that may appeal to all Americans. It allows any religion to place their own God as it's central "being", giving the idea of ID an appeal similar to that of Evolution, which allows for any religion to take science as a seperate idea.
Therefore, the bible is not a source of information regarding Intelligent Design, unless you wish to make this a debate on the validity and likelihood of the Christian God being the One True God.

Thoughts?

The only difference is that mens have urinals. Chances are, the stalls in a mens plus the urinals adds up to the number of stalls in a womens bathroom.

I don't see how this was even a topic for discussion. Sexism in the public policy on washrooms?

For full article, see this.

The Same-Sex marriage bill which has garnered so much debate in Canada has just passed third reading. It will now be referred to the Senate, and will pass it within a matter of weeks.
The bill drew deep divisions in the parliament, causing one MP to leave the Liberal party and one cabinet minister to step down. It passed tonight 158-133.

I find it hilarious all the people that need to justify their responses with "If I was gay (which I'm not)" or "I'm only saying an animal because you said we had to" and all these excuses.
Then they reel off a list of animals they've wanted to screw that's been in their head for years.

I'm dissapointed in the lack of photoshops, though. These are perhaps the most revealing pics ever posted on NG, and all we've seen are a few crude additions of Bedn.

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. I may attend next year's meetup, depending on time and location.

It's a good idea, total, but I doubt the PC will take off again.
You'd need all the regulars to be interested, have people willing to join, and blah, blah, blah.
I haven't been back in Politics as much as I should be, but it seems to me the whole feel of the boards isn't one of exclusive clubs at the moment.
I always enjoyed the PC and it would be great if it started up again, but who knows if it will.

If anyone is interested, though, be sure to say so.

Hey BCC, glad to see you're still around.
The PC fell apart while I was on sabbatical for a month of two. We had peaked in our interest with the BWS Affair and things began to drop off. In retrospect, it wasn't a good time for me to disappear.

If you're looking into starting the old gang up again, I'd be glad to get involved. Let me know- I haven't changed my sig since then. Still the PC one Shrike made for me.
