Response to: Italy Pulling Out Of Iraq Posted March 18th, 2005 in Politics

It's Italy's prerogative if they want to withdraw their troops. If I was in command of Italy's army, I would do the same.
As terrible as it is that US Soldiers are dying, the blame falls on the US government for sending them there, but the Italian government can avoid such blame by withdrawing their troops.

I believe my interest has been previously expressed.

And I'll hop on the feline bandwagon and ask for a cat picture as well.

Finally, it's "whet" the appetite, Shrike, not wet. You're all washed up.

Chimps and humans have different numbers of chromosomes, making it impossible for one to impregnate the other.

My name's Andrea. And I'm a Mac user.

Well, not me. Her. Freak. Not a freak, but Freakapotimus. I wasn't calling you a freak.

Never mind. Your name just doesn't lend itself to short forms, Andrea. It always sounds insulting.

Yeah, I've been reading the thread and missed the one with all the same-sex>orphanages> etc and wanted to clear things up. Apparently they had been cleared up on the previous page, though.
Alas.

Response to: Gay Adoption Posted March 16th, 2005 in Politics

I would very much like to see these "numerous studies" showing high rates of spousal abuse among same-sex couples.
Secondly, ease of explanation should hardly be a deciding factor in whether a child is raised in an orphanage or by a same-sex couple. The explaining should be for the parents to do, not for the government to "spare" people because they think it may be difficult to explain.

Response to: Italy Pulling Out Of Iraq Posted March 16th, 2005 in Politics

Italy is beginning to slowly withdraw the 3,000 troops they have in Iraq starting in September. Of course, they first need some exit strategy besides "Out".

This will certainly encourage the training and preparation of Iraqi security forces, but only time will tell if international troops are still a necessity. The fact that most attacks seem to be targeted against Americans could indicate things may be easier for Iraqi security (though they have also come under attack).

Response to: Gay Adoption Posted March 16th, 2005 in Politics

I do apologize, it seems I missed a post. I've been following the thread but apparently skimmed over one.

However, having been chastised by four different people I am thoroughly ashamed.

Response to: Gay Adoption Posted March 16th, 2005 in Politics

People tend to dance around the straighforward answers, so let's make this clear.

Chorus , let's get a clear opinion on this point. Which is a better environment for a child to be raised in?
A) An orphanage
B) A family with same-sex parents

Response to: Gay Adoption Posted March 15th, 2005 in Politics

The problem we should be addressing is not making all the kids the same so there is nothing to pick on each other about, but eliminating the predjudices and the kinds of beliefs that lead to picking on other kids.
If having gay parents was an accepted and tolerated thing then kids wouldn't pick on children of gay parents. The sad fact is, though, that sections of society condemn gay parents for no good reason and children suffer because of their predjudices.

Most of your reviews are just saying "crap", basically. If you're going to review, make it constructive criticism to help the author improve. Make a suggestion.
I would have banned you, with the reviews you have.
"BOOOOOORING". Your reviews are crap.

Hey, PJ!
Yeah, the P.C. died shortly after my vacation from NG started. It basically died and though Shrike made reference to revival attempts, I can't recall them. The whole BWS thing was a signal of our end, I suppose.
We will revive it at some point, purely as it was designed, as a group of regular Politics posters. Foka was our artist for the PC movie, so when he dissapeared it all fell through. That sig-pic slideshow thing is all there is, sadly.
Glad you're back, though. Stay and chat with us!

Shrike- I'd test your skin as well, Shrike. I use Firefox with Windows XP Pro, if you need to know. I'd be glad to test it, just let me know when.

Dan- Yes, you r teh regular.

I can understand it. Rubber bands have been, for far too long, an issue in the States. We've banned them here in Canada, to a degree, and we're trying the Rubber Band registry for certain other strechy things. I don't see why every person in the U.S. needs one.

Response to: Pill Popping Nation Posted February 22nd, 2005 in Politics

It's "The Chrysalids", and I don't believe they had to take any pills. Are you misquoting another book, perhaps?
Or was "Soma" in 1984 itself? I haven't read it in a number of years, someone help us out here.
