Writing on a chalkboard? Dust kinda gives me that impression.

Wow, that's actually a really good guess...but no.

Dust actually refers to resin, which is used to keep my bow from squeaking on the strings. The "board" refers to the fingerboard (i.e., the black piece under the strings).

Another haiku (just to keep this post relevant to the thread):

Self-discipline and
learning to learn merge in my
passion of 8 years.

Allow me to clarify further:

Another one about drumming.

What a lovely sound

bounces to the beat.

I would've never guessed that the first one was about drumming in a million years, but that's probably due to my own ignorance. 0_O

Can anyone guess what this one is about, though?

The dust dyes my hand
white along with the board where
my fingers fly free.

That's nothing! Here it's 80 degrees!

...

Well, okay...Fahrenheit, but still...

My summer's been alright. I have a ton of stuff I want to do this summer, and not a lot of time. :/ One of those things was being more active on the forums, though, so I guess that's going well! :)

Ugh...another controversial one. Sorry guys. I seriously hope no one takes offense to this. I just think that, while capitalism is fuel for innovation and social mobility, there are also a lot of "losers," if you know what I mean. I'll keep the political ones to myself from now on.

Sorry for the double post, just noticed this. Anyway, every judge listens to all the submissions and produces a top 64. The lists are then tallied to produce a final top 64, with any tiebreakers settled by the judges after the tallies are made.

Huh, that's cool. Is there any way you could post how many judges voted for each person after the auditions? I probably won't get in, but knowing that at least one judge had me in the top 64 would mean a lot! :')

Fruity Soundfont Player costs $35 and comes with a pretty cool preset "String Ensemble" that I've used before. You can also use it to get all sorts of free samples like these. Although I'd be careful if you're using a PC because you can get viruses really easily by downloading tons of samples. ;)

Interesting how the religious people here find it strange that I find value in writing about religion (given that I'm not religious), while the non-religious people perfectly understand! XD I definitely WAS NOT trying to disrespect anyone, btw. I just think religion is really interesting, and it's definitely worth telling a story about. After all, The Bible is easily the best-selling book of all time.

Anyway, haiku incoming:
