The "Free Market" will decide weather or not it works ... that and charitable donations so that everyone receives an equal and high quality level of service regardless of income level. Some people might not be able to afford $100 a month for premium Police service but they will still be covered just as well as the people and corporations that paid. Privatized Policing is about serving and protecting the People not the banks and Governments so no fines are given out by Privatized Police that would be the government Stooge Cops that would still work in that realm.

I highly doubt that they can get enough funding to sustain themselves, or at least not nearly as comparable as the local Police Department would. In the best case scenario, they will only have maybe one private officer for every dozen regular police officers (and not to mention several other law enforcement agencies as well like Sheriff Deputies and the Highway Patrol to name a few).

But hell, if someone really wants to try running a Private Police Force, then they should give it a shot in a major city like Chicago, New York, or Dallas for instance.

EDIT: Fixed grammar.

There is also the fact that people will have no obligation to pay fees issued by private police and have no obligation to listen to them either.

Exactly.

Ok. I understand now.

Yes... it's not MY Government. That's why I said OUR Government. I pay taxes, and so does almost every citizen in the United States, so it's my Government as much as 300 million other US citizens in this country (especially because you know, we vote who represents us (not that you care to believe)).

Anyway Privatized Policing would not work on an Insurance scam like Obama Care Act but rather the FREE MARKET will decide who gets your money. Completion is good in this instance and we can still have the dumb ass complacent pay roll sponge Government Cops as well but the people that actually have to work and perform for their money will do a much better job right.

Your idea of the police being on the Free Market would be entirely pointless if there's a "government" police as well. Why on Earth would anyone pay for a service that's already provided for them? It's like if you win a car that you always wanted but it's missing that sun roof (which really serves absolutely nothing in practicality), so you decided to buy the same exact car with that sun roof while losing money (even if you sold the car that you won because it doesn't have that oh so nice "sun roof"). You would've wasted a few hundred dollars for no good reason.

Response to: Privatized Policing ? Posted November 18th, 2014 in Politics

I don't think privatizing the police is a good idea. I know you don't like our system of government, but I would rather have my taxes go to funding a police department than having to potentially pay thousands out of pocket for police insurance. If I don't pay for it and I get robbed, I have no way of reporting it. The bad guy potentially walks away free.

When I told my two best friends that I like Friendship is Magic, they all thought I was crazy. Overall though they didn't care that much because we've been friends for a long time. Ironically, the two best friends that thought I was crazy for liking Friendship is Magic are now bronies themselves (more than me actually)! xD

Can't Remember That Sound!!! Posted November 16th, 2014 in General

Ever had that moment where you somehow forgotten the opening part of a song, or a sound effect from a video game? I think we all have at one point, so what are the sounds/songs you recently forgotten about?

Right now, until now anyway because I looked it up, it was the death sound from Super Mario Bros. Not sure why I forgotten this one in particular, but it has been driving me crazy! At least I know what it is now, so I can sleep tonight...

10 minutes worth of that death sound! :D

Response to: I cannot express my disgust... Posted November 16th, 2014 in Politics

I have to agree with the OP that I'm also disgusted by what they did. Not only is it disrespectful to perform these acts in front of religion (and this goes to any organization/party/business/etc.), but it doesn't even remotely solve anything. Maybe they weren't looking to solve something externally, internally, or both; they just wanted to be bullies, and if that's the case, that makes it worse.

Of course there will be some people that will disagree with me, and more than likely that they support these kinds of protests, but flip it the other way around (have the Catholic Church do something comparable to what these women did), they're completely against them and feel that the protests needs to be banned. One thing I absolutely cannot stand are double standards, and this certainly applies to some people I know who are not religious in any way. Honestly, I don't think many people brings this up (save a few of course), but that's another topic for another day...

HOWEVER, unlike the OP, I do NOT want to see these demonstrators punished. I especially do NOT want to see them get beaten or killed by Islamic Extremist, or by anyone for expressing themselves and/or their opinion. Everyone, no matter how radical they are, have every right to express their opinion against something as long as they are not infringing the rights of others (violence being the key thing). I'm willing to go as far as to say the Westboro Baptist Church shouldn't be physically harmed, because they have that right to their radical opinion (as should anyone). OP, you're scum.

Getting pumped up the ass/raped in prison is considered to be of the utmost extreme insult and you are considered less than human if you get ass raped in jail. In the true animal kingdom I would entertain the notion that a monkey would not care where the hell it spreads it's seed as long as it spreads it. Also as with humans in the prison system monkeys use same sex rape as a form of extreme humiliation and Alpha dominance.
http://anthro.palomar.edu/behavior/behave_2.htm

Good to know, but we're talking about consenting adults. Keep in mind that prison rape can also occur between a man and a woman, especially by authority figures to prisoner contact. The fact that adults have consented to anal sex makes the dominance in question void.

Who knows, the animals that are at the end of the dominant other is actually enjoying it.

I am talking about the amazing bond you develop between man and women in monogamist long term relationship when they create a baby and more so how much more incredible that bond becomes from the point of conception to the birth of a new life the couple created together.

Some people that are in a long term relationship doesn't have kids, and plan not to. There may not be that bond to creating a new life, but there is still a bond, and more than likely a strong one at that.

IMO Marriage is a ridiculous notion absolutely. If people need confirmation from others to tell them who they love then that it's not love at all. That's aside from the dumb ... "contract notion" and Government intervention. 6months relationship in Canada and the women can take half your shit. Marriage is fucked and another way to break the natural bond between man and wife. I don't know why gay's would want to get married as there are no benefit's to it just more subjugation.

You're entitled to that opinion, but people don't marry for the sake of confirming the love. For the vast majority, love has clearly been established long before marriage is even an option. Despite some flaws like what you've mentioned in Canada, it provides protection in case of a death in a family, gives them tax benefits (which I do disagree, but it's there so there is another reason), and in a worst case scenario, separating after having kids. If the child were to be born out of wedlock, and the boyfriend abandons his girlfriend and the child, then there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. The girlfriend would be fucked even more financially than if they were married and filed for a divorce. At least when they're married and they file for divorce, nine times out of ten the father will have to pay child support in order for the child to have a better chance for his/her future. Does that mean he will pay child support? There's no guarantee, but under the law he has to, or he could face serious charges.

Why should a homosexual couple be denied these rights simply because of their sexual preference alone? It would be nice to know that if his boyfriend were to die in a tragic car accident that his stuff would go to him over his boyfriend's family because of what's stated in his will. It would also be nice to know that if they've adopted a child that the child would be able to inherit something if something bad happened to one of his fathers (some states like Texas does not recognize a child having two fathers, so if he was adopted by a homosexual couple, then only one of the father can legally claim him. What happens if the father that does not legally claim him dies? Gee, despite his request in the will, Texas will NOT RECOGNIZE it because they can't marry). Sucks doesn't it?

I mean, if you still feel that marriage is more bad than good, then let's just agree to disagree.

Seeking a strong maternal/Mother and paternal/Father bond is a basic fundamental/building block to creating a healthy, strong and well rounded human being and family unit.

Homosexual couples, male or female, seem to have a more stable relationship than straight couples do. Also, children with homosexual parents do just as well as heterosexual parents. Growing up in a married household increases the chances of success, but it doesn't seem to matter if the child has a mom and dad, two moms, or two dads. The only negative is that children with homosexual parents will have to deal with potential bullying from other children.

Gay could be considered a biological disorder in the brain according to some research firms and a life choice to other firms.

There are also firms that states that they do not have a biological disorder, its natural (because wild animals have homosexual intercourses as well), and they shouldn't be treated like they're freaks. Even if it is a life choice to be gay, it doesn't seem to hurt anyone but the extremely religious group.

Video of firms that states this (at the end).

I don't hate gay's I just pity them for the fact that they will perhaps never experience or at a minimum understand one of the most amazing and simple and fundamental human capacities and that is the bond/mating between man and women that creates a new life.

You're probably right about not experiencing it, but I know for a fact that they can understand the bond. My girlfriend has been adopted by a lesbian couple, and they absolutely love her just as much as my parents do for me. And to top it all off, her parents are very stable!

This whole issue on whether homosexuals should be married or not is absolutely ridiculous, as not only should they be able to marry someone they truly love, but the benefits seem to outweigh the cons.

Maybe you have something interesting to discuss?

A lot of the political threads I've made dealt with Criminal Justice and Guns. Typically it doesn't contain the discussion of a particular event, but more along the lines of "how would you handle this situation" or "do you feel like this is right" sort of thing. Granted, much of the political threads that deal with current events will bring up these questions, but what I'm trying to say is that you could make a thread about hypothetical situations and get a conversation going with that. It seems to work for me.

Now it's up to you to think of something interesting to start a conversation on that relates to politics.

I hope that helps.
