True enough, but if you really want perfect vision, many who have gotten the treatment would argue it's completely worth the cost.

No contacts because well, I'm far more okay with the idea of wearing glasses than sticking something under the skin around my eye, personally.
There's always LASIK.
Your circular logic is cringe-worthy. You refuse to listen to what I have to say and you continue to spout wispy, baseless nonsense. I regret engaging you in conversation as I feel it has been a waste of time. You're not thinking hard enough about this discussion to warrant continued debate.

You wouldn't sit there pressing a useless button for eight hours because there's no reward. You get bored because nothing happens. You stop and find something else to do because you're bored. Basically, since you get bored when things cease to be interesting, and things cease to be interesting when they cease to be rewarding, boredom acts as a mechanism to drive you to make productive use of your time.1. We need to stop having expectations in a naturally mundane world.
I do not see what this has to do with my point.
2. Knowing how I have explored through multiple dark fetishes over my course of years, I can say - without any doubt - how wrong you are to say that boredom is a healthy component in human psyche. Boredom will stuff you into a never-ending spoiled circle of expectations that will devour every frivilous element of character you have left. It will turn you into a hungry beast that is never satisfied.
You're looking at this backwards. Boredom does not cause expectation. Expectation causes boredom. When you press the button and expect nothing to happen, it's boring. Pressing the button until you grow bored does not cause you to expect a different result on the next press. Anyway, of course it isn't without its downsides. However, the fact that the capacity to become bored exists today in not just people, but many creatures, is a testament that the good outweighs the bad.
Now, since we've proven its evolutionary feasibility, we can look even deeper to provide a more concrete argument for the existence of boredom as a valid emotion. Boredom can be a symptom of clinical depression. The current consensus on the cause of depression is the monoamine hypothesis, which relates to an imbalance of the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. Norepinephrine, specifically, is believed to have effects on alertness, energy, and general interest in life. You can easily connect the dots here and see that a lack of this neurotransmitter would certainly facilitate a classic state of boredom.Proven...? Remember, the chemicals respond after we make an action. We are - in a sense - controlling the results and output of our chemical system. The chemicals are an influence, but never will it truly dictate us. 80MPH can push you forward only if you let it. You can choose to stand and battle force versus force and win out on it. (This will prove impossible if it was 200MPH, lol. But, you can hold onto something and negate the force still. Completely ignoring the actuality of that situation for explanative purposes.) I disagree on how you come to your conclusions. You are skipping alot of important steps.
The neurotransmitters produced in your brain serve regulatory functions. They are not produced as a result of any action, they are produced all the time.
You can argue, then, that people who are more prone to being bored aren't that way simply because they believe in boredom, but because they have a real, measurable neurochemical imbalance, and that it is possible for this state to exist because its existence has proven to be a beneficial trait for human survival throughout the course of our evolution. No, it only disturbs the chemical system through irrelevant factors that has nothing to do with 'boredom'. It isn't 'boredom' by the definition, but the person as a whole. They are the ones who want to have a choice in what they like and dislike, because of an illusion. There is always an underlying reason why we do not neceassrily prefer something over the other. Now, I do not mean to say that someone who doesn't like bannanas should psych themselves into eating bananas, because tastebuds are very much a tangible component of the human body while the mental abstract influences we have are NOT tangible in any shape or form.
The point of my conclusion has eluded you, and so my argument seems to have slipped through your fingers entirely. People don't decide whether to be good at math or have artistic inclination, their tendencies are the result of the way their brains are wired.
You appear to simply be rambling at this point for the sake of being argumentative. I suggest you take a break and come back to this topic tomorrow. Perhaps once you're refreshed you'll be more willing to grasp what I have to say.

It's a depressing world.

Rampant, sorry to hear about all that shit. It really sucks to go to any school that you expect a lot from, only to not get much out of your time there. I totally understand after my college experience. But shit man, 80 grand? That's fucking ridiculous. I'd be pissed. I went to a cheap school and was disappointed, but dude, a school like that, I'd be straight-up pissed.
I had some small classes, but the professors really didn't seem to give a shit if you had food or a beverage. Some days I'd be running late and would stop at the dining hall, grab a burger, and continue on to class where I'd dress it with all the necessary condiments and enjoy it during the lecture.
Blah, I was gonna go to sleep early tonight, like 1:30ish, and now I've got the same few notes playing over and over again in my head and I can't keep my damn eyes closed.
