She is from China and knows very little about music, but she is eager to learn. I am taking her to a Jazz Bar later this week with her friend and my friend again for some relaxing and chill food and music. Then we will check out the downtown area. So far so good! Who knows, this may turn into something. We will certainly be friends, if anything!

Awesome man, good for you! If she wants to learn about what you're into it definitely means she's interested in you.

Sounds almost too good to be true though, she might have a dick.

I don't like to stream music from the audio portal while I'm doing other things anyway because it tends to be a massive resource hog. Pretty much any way you slice it, you'd be better off just downloading the tracks you like as others have suggested.

We've already got some prominent artists with tons of fans and some of them are overrated. I won't name names because opinion wars never get anywhere, but that kind of thing happens everywhere regardless of how quality is filtered.

Also hi, welcome to the BBS.

Ah, my bad then, disregard that.

I'm not too worried about that whole Shadling thing either. Most of the people who like his art are only fans because they get off to the porn he draws, and if someone was making audio that people were consistently getting off to then I think they'd deserve some recognition for it.

Living on your own is not equivalent to college. For example, I can't afford it, so I just take the bus to college. Living on your own is awesome - college is not. College is an academic joke and in my case just one more location where I am reminded how antisocial I am.

College is pretty shit. It's definitely more about the experience than the education.

Haha, I wish I got that in a PM when I was scouted. No, I think BFP is right. When I got into the art portal I just got a message from P-Bot telling me I had been scouted and gave me the option to accept or deny. No fancy pictures.

Maybe there should be, though.

This is discouraged on the Art forum, and it will be here as well.

Here's to hoping the aversion catches on. I'm sure it will, most of the audio regulars seem to be pretty good at shunning people.

1. Art portal has it

2. PG kinda said one of the advantages of the system is this:

At 9/11/12 10:57 AM, PsychoGoldfish wrote: and when a new breakout artist comes along, one of you guys will have the bragging rights of being the user that scouted them.
I'm not saying it couldn't work, I'm just expressing concern. Worst case scenario, we prune someone and like 200 people have to be rescouted because the person was just scouting every person on the list.

While it's possible that could become a problem, the art portal has the statistic and it doesn't seem to cause any real issues. People over there are pretty serious about who they scout, and I can't imagine it being too much different here.

The audio portal is full of mature, upstanding individuals who just wouldn't do that kind of thing! ...right?
Response to: Audio Scouting Posted September 12th, 2012 in Audio

So, there's still no "Scouts" stat for audio on the user stats page.

Yes. I'm elated to see this system in the audio portal now too, since I spend a lot more time there than the art portal these days. Gives me something to do aside from the occasional review.

Issue with messaging Posted September 10th, 2012 in Where is / How to?

There was a little 1 on my messages icon at the top of each page, obviously meaning I had a new message, but when I checked my message center there wasn't anything new there. I figured I'd delete a bunch of old messages and now the notification is gone. I'm sure I didn't delete anything I haven't read.

What just happened?

That's something I didn't think about; text readability. Yellow text on a gold background wouldn't be very fun.
