Go to sleep.
Lots of really good points in here that I never even realized would apply to me.
Mostly though I make music when I'm supposed to be doing something else as a way of sabotaging myself with procrastination.

I can confirm this. I once used prescription stimulants to stay up for a straight week to work on all my finals one semester. I vividly remember blowing 20 minutes chasing an imaginary bat around a computer lab.
Also, every so often - and when I say often I mean every 5-10 minutes - I thought I saw a person sitting next to me in my peripheral vision. Every time I turned to look, there was nobody there. Freaky shit. I guess that's what you get when you combine severe sleep deprivation with long periods of total isolation.
Would I do it again? Maybe.

^ Threw this together to match what you're looking for.
The CPU is actually a brand new APU that just recently came out. It's a quad core and has built-in graphics capabilities that are waay above any other APU on the market. It should be able to handle any videos or movies very easily, and is still cheaper than the cheapest of Intel's latest generation chips.
The motherboard is a solid pick for the price. It's one of the most inexpensive boards that support the APU I chose and still has enough on it to suit any casual needs.
I decided on 8GB memory because, with the cheap price of RAM nowadays, it's silly to skimp out on it. 8GB is starting to become the norm, and at $26 that kit is pretty much the best deal available right now. It's the cheapest in terms of price per GB and it's from a very reputable memory manufacturer.
For storage you've got a 500GB HDD as well as a 60GB SSD. Together that costs about the same as a pretty good 1TB HDD. If you want to shave off $30 then forgo the SSD, but I highly recommend getting it and putting your OS on it as it cuts boot times and many other things DRASTICALLY. I'm talking 15-20 seconds to have you looking at the desktop with everything fully loaded after pressing the power button.
The case is a good one and is an excellent value for the money. It fits a micro ATX form factor motherboard, which is what the motherboard I used happens to be. It's also quite compact and won't take up very much space at all, if that's a concern.
The PSU is a 530 watt, even though you probably won't need anything above 450. I prefer to play it safe and go a bit above the spec just in case, though. Plus, it's modular, which will be very convenient when you're actually putting the machine together, especially considering the limited amount of space you'll have in the case. You could get away with using a cheaper, non-modular PSU, but in my opinion it's worth paying a few extra dollars for.
Optical drive plays Blu-Ray/DVD/CD. Pretty much self-explanatory.

Well, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses tend to make themselves known at around age 20 in males, so I'm guessing that since you're starting college you're getting pretty close to that. It's still possible you're just in a regular slump because you're having trouble with people, though.
Just don't go hanging yourself in a closet.

I feel like the whole apprenticeship deal is meant to be a major part of your project. No matter how good you may be, and you're certainly very good, you can always at least learn something from someone else who has experience.
Without that criteria the project would just end up being another exercise in something you have down as rote already anyway, and wouldn't serve much to help you learn and grow.
Anyway, I have nothing to do with this, so don't mind me.

It makes sense if you sense sense in a different sense.
I am the guy who makes senseless sense since I sense sense in sensible things and senselessness; senseless sense in senseless things. My incentive is to incense the senseless sensibly and with sense for those desensitized to insensitivity with regards to the sensible. Since senseless senility seems senselessly nonsensical I sense the sense in incentives to send some semblance of such sense through insensitive text to insensitive eyes to, sensibly, incense some sensible thought.
Just my two cents...

The answer, of course, is to just not listen to music at a high volume.
You might as well link some sources.
You can still get away with listening to earbuds at a reasonable volume without obliterating the myelin on your auditory nerve. Just don't crank it up to max and blast your ears for nine hours. Seems like some 'experts' recommend a "60/60" rule; no more than 60 dB for 60 minutes a day.
Obviously that's not exactly reasonable for us, but there it is.

I have just one last thing to say. If you're worried about the people you scouted getting in trouble, don't scout anyone. You had no real responsibility in this field before, and now that you have the option to take responsibility you're complaining about how it would be difficult if you tried.

Are you outlining a scenario in which a regular user scouts a person who happens to have stolen audio? I would think that this system will actually help to prevent that, because hopefully if you're scouting someone you've done enough digging on them to know that they're legit and won't jeopardize your good standing.
