It's only because it was uploaded monday, where the overrated-ness is on the increase. If you want to win weekly first, upload one or two days before wednesday. There's no way you would lose.
Not entirely true. I know it's a few months old, but look at Walk in the Woods. That got weekly third during a week with relatively weak competition, and it was uploaded on Tuesday. Unlike a lot of the recent submissions, its score didn't reach its peak within the day. It took a couple days. Its score peaked somewhere around 4.55ish before it was thrown in the top 50 list, which would have easily slaughtered the competition by about 20-25 points. So, you see, it doesn't always work, but generally it seems you are correct.
Wow, so after I flagged the first batch of Sir-Nuts reviews my whistle went up to Bronze. I flagged the second batch, went to bed, and now it's Garbage. I was very picky about what I flagged too...
Anyway, here's a nice little collection of reviews. Hope this doesn't look like a mess when I post it, because the BBS lacks a convenient EDIT button.
The names with notes after them are CLEARLY abusive. The others are probably, but I'm only flagging the ones I'm certain of. I might have missed a few too.

SpikeVallentine has discovered that, somehow, by telling people you rushed a work and intended for it not to be good quality, those people will glorify it excessively, giving it ridiculously high and undeserved scores.
Yeah, just imagine the scores he'll receive the next time he makes a full blown animation. Either that, or the people of the internet will continue to prove themselves as complete morons and give it a low score even though it's infinitely better than the speed animations.
No offense, I kind of like his speed animations, but I think their scores should be a good .20 less (or more).

Congratz to Epsilon. Amazing game, but way too easy. If a sequel were to come out and it was actually hard, it would get a HUGE score.
You mean 4.5 isn't a HUGE score?
Meh, I guess not by today's standards. 4.5+ scores seem all the common.
Also, weird. I could have sworn that Office Max movie was going to get first, but that Clock movie came out of nowhere. Someone must have had an army... or the CC, haha. Don't really care either way, but couldn't help but notice.
1st and 2nd place were both very smooth pieces of work. To bad they were both submitted on the same day because they're both worthy of a Daily, IMO. They both have their quirks, but I'd honestly have to say I like Deep Sexy Space more. No, not because it features a chick running around topless and cock jokes, but because the art and animation were plain awesome. Apples was a cute little piece of work as well, and it's always nice to see some good flashes without all the violence and profanity that most seem to have nowadays. I thoroughly enjoyed both movies.
