The 2 Month(ish) Deadline I set initially is drawing ever closer.

But...

With my seemingly limited free time of late (Due to work and other commitments) I'm going to extend this, plus I haven't received many entries yet

In addition to this exenstion and due to the low response so far I would like to ask of you, those whom are interested in participating, how long would you like, for an attempt to create a track for this project?

Response to: Music for a charity Posted March 30th, 2014 in Audio

Just wondering how things are progressing with those peeps that have come forward about working on compositions for this album.

Good question!

I will certainly be trying to promote it, if anyone else would like to do the same, that would be great also

I don't hace any experience with producing Indian music but would like to be part of this good cause. I have done a charity track before and what we did was set up a mailing list to keep contact beetween the organisers and the musicians easy aswell as a dropbox folder so we can stick the finished wav in there.

Sure, if you can try and get an Indian vibe in your piece that would be great but as stated a few times already that isn't essential.

Whenever I have all the tracks together I'll try and arrange them so they work well in that order so no worries that it's dnb.

I like the suggestion of mailing list and Dropbox use but I don't really think we need it. Whenever the pieces are ready just pm me and I'll give my email addy to send to.

Once all the tracks are in, I'll submit them to the bandcamp account

Ill consider it, if i find the time. :)

Cool, much appreciated

Apply an pretty fast enveloppe (or different enveloppes for variation) to the pitch and you've got a pretty good starting sound.
I've never used performance mode before, How does it even work? I thought it was for live mixing.

It was. You don't have to die to be listed. If it is something like this that should have killed you but you survived, it gets an honorary mention.

Damn, I thought they were already getting enough entries, without moving goal-posts. It was way funnier when the people died though.

Not saying death is humourour.

But when someone dies from doing something so ridiculously stupid, it's worthy of a giggle.

Does anyone remember those days when Newgrounds had a store?

Where you could purchase the usual kind of merch, t-shirts and other cool stuff!

Share your memories here, your purchases, etc...

I won't volunteer for project leader, maybe it can be done without, who knows?!

But what I would suggest is, from here on, asking those that are interested to express that interest and in addition.

Just state:

What their genre experiences are
The programs they use
Whether they play live instruments? and can record those live?
as well as whether there are any vocalists here?

This would IMO be useful information to help decide how the groupings could work.

Additional ideas:

To keep things together, I would recommend periodically re-summarising this info every x number of posts to save late arrivals from having to read through every single entry in this thread, as it could grow rather large,

or

Alternatively, a seperate thread created for that particular information and use this thread for the planning.

These are all just ideas I feel could be useful, take/leave whatever works and also make suggestions here also, together we'll hit on the right combination of ideas that could work for this project.

Again, I can't participate but can willingly offer up information, suggestions,etc...

I will join in on this at some stage, once the website re-launches, etc...

You could do it in this thread,

So just follow on from the suggestions made here and you can add more input or others can add input, I think Peter outlined quite a few worthwhile points to note.

Peter is making some very valid points here, he's not attacking you as is clear from his statements, he's just trying to ensure that a fair arrangement can be reached.

So, from what I've just read it sounds like, in summary you could simply offer to pay a fee as a license to use a track for the trailer(s/?) for a game.

You then have the rights to use that track, on that trailer, the composer keeps their rights as creator of the piece. Every one wins.

A seperate agreement needs to be reached and agreed upon by all parties (devloper and composer(s)), regarding game soundtrack music.

There's far too many bigots on newgrounds.

I can't see this thread lasting very long.

Whilst I completely disagree with religion in all of its forms, there isn't one religion that is actually peaceful. Look to history for evidence of this.

and before anyone jumps in with "Buddhism" sadly that doesn't count.
