Oh sweet! Okay well if I do happen to have that one driver that doesn't get updated automatically, how would I?

Response to: Computer Hospital: Part Two Posted August 8th, 2010 in Where is / How to?

Okay I ran it and well everything seems to check out, with the exception of RAM but that's an easy upgrade. It seems that I'm running 32-bit Windows XP, and I want 64-bit Windows 7, how do I know if my computer would be able to work with 64-bit? Also the issue of drivers. Would the upgrades from Microsoft update those drivers automatically or do I have to manually install them?

However, Microsoft have a tool for checking this, located here. It can take over an hour though, so don't go by the warning on the program saying it may take a few minutes.

Oh thank you, I'll try this out and come back with the results :)

Never mind I just returned it for a new one. But I have a question though; Can my computer handle Windows 7? It's a Gateway5026E

Processor Intel Pentium D processor 820 @2.8 GHz, 800 MHz FSB
2 × 1 MB L2 cache

Chipset Intel 945G

1 GB 533 MHz (PC4200) DDR2 memory
Expandable to 4 GB

Video Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900

I've been looking around and it seems that even some computers that have lower specs can get upgraded to Windows 7...

Does anything spike up when you start IE

It spikes up to 100% CPU usage.

Response to: Computer Hospital: Part Two Posted July 14th, 2010 in Where is / How to?

I just recently bought a new Asus laptop And well whenever I start IE the overall performance of the laptop just drops dramatically. All I did on it so far was install Kaspersky Anti Virus 2010 that Best Buy gave me, and I noticed the same drop in performance when I tired to update Kaspersky. I just bought it yesterday...

My mom has the EXACT same computer. What the fuck.

Anyway, I know her's was in a pretty bad state too. All I did was clean up all the stuff she didn't use, run a few anti-viruses, and defragged. Worked reasonabily well. Try those if you haven't already. Otherwise, get more RAM. 1 gig is not enough these days.

Never mind found and fixed the problem. But thanks for giving help people :)

I'm not sure if this would help but...When it freezes there's a continuous beep. And I read somewhere that beeps usually mean something.

Response to: Computer Hospital: Part Two Posted March 3rd, 2010 in Where is / How to?

Okay so here's the problem: The computer freezes/hangs at random times, as little as in 2 mins. to 4 hrs. It happens when I try to do something simple like clicking the start button or opening up IE. But also when it's idle. I already ruled out a virus/trojan/worm/w.e/. I used Spybot S&D, CCleaner, and installed SywareBlaster . It's fully updated. The OS is Windows XP MCE 2005, Sony Vaio, 1GB RAM, 3 Ghz CPU. Oh and before you guys ask, it didn't come with a recovery disk and Sony nor Windows won't supply it. And system restore didn't work. I'm thinking it might be a hardware problem, hopefully that's not the case...

...hey is it okay if I post my problem? Or is someone else still waiting for a solution?

Everytime I google something, and I click on any link, it keeps re-directing me to somewhere else, and it's always the same page! And I did do a virus scan/spyware scan/, but it still didn't detect it. I used Spybot Search and destroy, avg (full product), spyware scanner by crawler, and another one I can't think of the name at the moment. And It just recovered from 'Windows Police Pro' and 2 other viruses. And I'm pretty sure those viruses that I had, messed with my registry and windows files. So any help would be appreciated :3
