Hi, I'm a web designer/developer working for a web company in Ireland, we have a client who has a taekwondo club, he asked us about developing a flash game specifically for his website. We wont be charging him for our part in organizing the production of the game so if anyone is interested, you will be getting all the cash. We're going to outsource the work as its outside our skillset. We're looking for a talented flash programmer/designer individual/team with experience building games and who is/are up for a challenge.
About the game:
Street Fighter style game (more cartoonish though - kids will be playing it)
Some kind of realism in the Kicks (Front Snap Kick, Turning Kick, Hook Kick, Axe Kick, Crescent Kick, Back Side Kick, Jumping Kick, Kick Combos)
7 Original Charachters (Unlock Special Characters - perhaps knock offs of famous characters - names changed - features altered - not mario! :D)
One Generic Character for training purposes
Skills System - Points for Aggression, Bravery (e.g not holding block when you're low on health and going all out attack, could be difficult to program), Kicking, Punching, Blocking
Grading System (Start at white belt - build up to black belt - possibly extra levels at much harder difficulty settings - up to 9th dan/degree black belt)
Special Moves... (needs more ideas/planning)
Tournament and Training Modes - Tournament fights bring trophies - Training fights bring next belt grade)
Data memory - remember player's name, character's name, current belt, trophies won, fighs won/lost, etc
Also we were thinking of a points leaderboard which gives the game extended playability, people can keep playing tournaments to add to their points tally.
Another idea we had was to also have a multiplayer arena game, added in at a later date, where people can fight against each other online with the character they've built up
---
There's plenty more to talk about but I'd like to present the idea to the community first to test if anyone is interested. Just to be clear THIS IS NOT A CONTEST.
There's a good budget for a small organization but we are trying to keep costs as low as possible, **insert generic recession comment here** We're not cheap, neither is our client, we value the work and we are fair people. We've come to Newgrounds with this because I've always had a lot of respect for the flash work done by people on this site, some cool artwork and interesting games. And...to be honest, its probably going to be cheaper than an established flash game company.
So, if you think you or your team is up to the task, PM me with a quote and some of your previous work and we'll get in touch with you to let you know if we'd like to work with you!
Cheers
