Another issue is simply, fan noise from you pc. The procedure to remove that is to take a sample of the sound of the fan and then remove that afterwards using a programme like sound forge or wavelab.

Its your own interpretation of someone elses work.
You are not giving away their actual work, but something based on someone elses work.
Since you're not selling your covers, you're not making money off someone elses work, so in theory its ok.
If you were to try sell a cover without negotiating royalties, you'd leave yourself wide open for a good drilling in a brand new orifice.
in gist, its probably ok, as after all, you're covers can only really promote you and the original artist, no one actually loses out.
Just make sure you credit the original artist or you'll definitely land yourself in the shit for theft of intellectual property.
