Try Soundfonts, and there are plenty of drum machines, look into the Synth Threads, you can find them in the sticky thread "New to Audio? Click Here"

Yes, clearly i'm out of line, after trying to help and getting frustrated with what seemed like a bloody stupid response to what i actually do to find my samples. Its a dog eat dog world, and i'm no catfish. Of course, if he wants to be emo, and start bitching over nothing, he's more than welcome....

Thank you for being an emo fag who wants his own sounds spoonfeeding to him.

PICK YOUR OWN FUCKING SOUNDS MORON. ITS NOT UP TO ME TO TELL YOU WHAT SOUNDS YOU SHOULD WANT TO USE.
Look, if you don't want to help, then get lost and don't fucking reply, asshole.

a) you dont own me b) this is free space.

Firstly, I never said it was up to you. I asked the board -- those who wanted to help did. Those who didn't, or didn't have an opinion didn't. You just shot your mouth off because you're retarded. Just keep your ignorant mouth shut next time.

Hahahah retarded, what a high class original insult, i'm sure the worlds comedians will be rushing to steal that one....

Secondly, since you're being a prick -- I would be picking my own sounds; I'm asking others what they do to pick out theirs. It's not a given that I will necessarily use one or any of them. So don't make stupid assumptions and make an ass out of yourself.

I tried helpin earlier, and told you what i do about sounds, and you said thanks for nothing. Ergo, you're the bellend in this situation "mate".

Response to: Whats Da Best Program ^.^ Posted August 3rd, 2005 in Audio

Thats gist really as erkie says, no best programme, but how you use it. You can do midi/synth in acid, fl and reason, you can layer in all. Reason sounds strange, its a bit of an odd one, maybe cos if you make a pattern and run it it actually IS slightly different everytime. Any more experienced users correct me if i'm wrong please.

FL can sound clean or buzzy and is a more static, reliable type of sound.

Both is a strength and a weakness.

Acid's main thing is a free form sequencer, where you can put anything in at any time, just paint it in.... with a pencil. Midi, soundfiles, mpg's....

Personally i think the best musician could make a quality track using just a guitar and a tape recorder. We'll see.....

Personally i use samples i find on the net, make them myself with my kit or use reason drums so far.

Define what you mean by a real sound, if you mean dynamics like real kit reason is the way forward, but its much much more than just a drum machine.

Response to: Very Newbish Question Posted August 2nd, 2005 in Audio

Entirely up to you, if you think its finished or you're after suggestions, post it, if you dont want any help from anyone else, for whatever reason, leave it til its done.

Industry favourite for mixing - Cubase.
My personal favourite - Acid Pro.

Editing individual sounds - Wavelab, soundforge, cool edit pro.

Best for making just misc sounds, like weird noises? Acid pro + some vst
Reason.

All of these do not come cheap, cheaper than a top quality "real instrument tho" with more functions available.

To Twoamproductions - LESS COCAINE, LESS METH LESS COFFEE AND STOP TRYING TO TELL PEOPLE HOW MUCH BETTER THAN THEM YOU ARE OR YOU ARE GOING TO BOMB HERE. LOSE THE FUCKING ATTITUDE.

Some of the best artists here dont personally say a word about themselves, and their skills, they just motor on making fat tracks.

So i'm startin to think you got more mouth than product....

Metallica didn't want people getting all their music for free, because they would miss out on money and support from fans. Sure, they're being a little greedy there, but I would do the same thing.

Oh no, another new breed who thinks rock n rolls all about the money. Even if it was, they are FUCKING LOADED. Before that, i wanted to see them, after that, i didnt really care.

I get the feeling its not their fault and that they were forced by the recording company, but either way they were still fightin to hold onto cash.

What happened to rock n roll, when did rock n roll die and become about the money?

FL for newbies and Reason for experts

Hmmm i took one look at reason and thought mmm thats nice, i wonder what that does.

Whereas i saw FL, looked at it for 5 mins and never touched it again.....

Acid Pro took me about 2 weeks to get the basics of, but thats cos i didnt know anything about sequencing or anything then.....

My take on it:

Reason - soundbank owns.
FL - not sure, but i've heard its got some very good wav effects you can do.
Acid Pro - good sequencer, good VST ("module") effects can be found and used. But quite unreliable, i had pro 4 crash on me at least 20 times everyday, but pro 5 seems to crash only when i try rewiring with reason, but i'll figure it out.

Damn man, stop encouragin people to rip off paragons style man. Its hard enough to carve a niche in DNB without people encouragin others to nick his style.

Original poster, i stand by my original point, make literally, whatever the fuck you like. If other people like it great, but if not, least you've made tracks that you like.... And the less people like it, the more original it'll be sounding.....

I'm havin trouble rewiring, and its driving me mad. I do what the instructions say in Acid Pro 5, but firstly

Where hell is channel one and two?

Secondly, i insert them and it does nothing.

I want to be able to use the synths i've used in reason and mix n master in acid pro, as thats the programme i'm best with, but i get nothing when i press the play button in acid, what do i do?

Response to: Trackdown Productions.com :Freebie: Posted July 31st, 2005 in Audio

I'm not obsessed with hip hop, but i like it, and i know good production when i hear it, and that is slick even on just the samples. If the actual tracks are better quality then you're on to some pro shit there. Nice one.

Response to: lowest rating ever? Posted July 30th, 2005 in Audio

I dont get why people shit on experimental music. Its where commercial gets the fresh ideas from, from something thats experimental.

I'm still all for my 0 voting only if you are a musician idea, and you get the identity revealed to you of those who 0 vote you.

Liljim shat on the idea of 0 voters being revealed by saying breach of privacy issues, but i dont see how you should be entitled to privacy from people who want to give negative scores.

Another mod shat on it saying, "boo hoo, what're you gonna do, flame them back and 0 their work?"

Which isnt really a reason, its the entire point of revealing 0 voters, to help protect us from the crews (cough Star Syndicate) (cough those clocks that have gone bad).

I fear NG has more of a subtle influence on the portals than we realised, specially since the SS has Ozcar as a friend....

Yes, i'm accusing NG of blatant corruption.

If you still care about 0 voters affectin you, dont quote my post, dont agree. I personally am immune as i dont give a shit about the 0 voters, but if you agree with my views you will make yourself a target.

*waits for accusations of paranoia*

*points out* If you ran a large site based on user submissions, and you didnt want to control it in an obvious manner? What would you do? I'd certainly get a crew to influence things, makes a target for people to bitch at instead of me....

Response to: Acid Pro 4.0 Help! Again Posted July 30th, 2005 in Audio

If its just to record the riff, and you dont want the riff, make the drum loop, and use it in winamp or something whilst you record into acid or soundforge.

Response to: Acid Pro 4.0 Help! Again Posted July 30th, 2005 in Audio

If you mean that the samples in the same channel, and you only want that piece, cut it and move it away, then drag just across the top of the ruler type bit so you get a box in between two arrows facing down, then when recording tick the box that says loop region only.

Response to: crazy frog Posted July 30th, 2005 in Audio

It is highly relevant, since as i get pop ups AND banners, i go to listen to some music, click to load it, a pop up appears, i go UP the screen to close it, and end up brushing the mouse over FUCKING CRAZY FROG meaning i have to start listening to the track from scratch as a) the frog has spoiled my listening or b) it fucked up the streaming either way.

NG PLEASE GET RID OF THE FUCKING CRAZY FROG, I BEG YOU, LEAVE THE INANE UTTER SHIT TO THE THOUSANDS OF RINGTONE SITES THEIR ARE.

ahem.
