As for synths...I like to surround myself with tecnology I guess :). They're fun to tinkle on when I'm bored. Most people don't know this, but I really wish I could play the piano. It's been even worse ever since mums new boyfriend re-located his Roland digital piano over here. It feels nice to play :). It's enjoyable to mess around on it for 10 or so minutes before I head out to uni or something.

I'm currently working on trying to make a guitar sound from scratch using waves in reason, i've been at it for a few months now, all comes down to what kind of guitar you want.
Simple way though = acoustic style sound, maybe bass, reverb, distortion,
or nn19 heavy gtr sample with reverb and a bit of distortion.
