A separation in the genres between lengthy tracks and short loops would be good, as good short loops get lower scores than lengthier tracks, even if the lengthier track isnt as tightly produced.
I'm sure someone mentioned recently a programme that uses recorded sounds from a choir, so in theory you can make your own words from it. But the alternatives khuskan suggested are probably better :P
Clearly need a category just for loops of each genre, cos loops get 0'd by people looking for full tracks.

Paragon used reason 2.5 to make those tracks. Not sure of their exact methods, but i'm assuming that it was mostly written from scratch.
Acids a good programme for resampling, but to create sounds in the first place, reason 2.5 or above is far far superior. Not sure about the earlier versions, not aware of anyones works that used them.
What version of acid do you have? i'm assuming express....

basically, start off with one synth, get what you want from that and just piece it together as you like.
Or as some do, start with just the drum beat and the effects you can achieve on and with that.

A high quality midi keyboard + good soft synths is PROBABLY better than any synths in terms of quality and variety.
The thing that gets me though, is just how digital is the analogue emulation.
I wish i knew how analogue worked better, i can hear a difference, and know the reasoning, but i dont know how the output actually works :S
