Both are good, and to say that FL is more of a home based app is silly. I've yet to hear of a signed artist that uses reason exclusively, yet dizzee rascal and gorillaz have used FL before.
Khuskans right on the value for money and the ease of use, when it comes to being similar to a real hardware setup.
BUT reason isnt FAST to use unless you already know what you're doing when it comes to composing, using basic waves, virtual analogue and warped digital samples.
BUT you basically build your own vst and can get a much more organic feeling sound out of reason, easier.
In conclusion.
a true musician can play any instrument to its top standard and a good standard, if given an appropriate time to experiment with it.

next time people ask the reason/FL question i'm going to bookmark their audio page and 0 the lazy/inept sods until they cry. And then some.
Maybe i'm entirely wrong and daft, but to me all notes regardless of what instruments they're played on have low tow tone aspects, mid, and highs. I'm not much up on the tones either.
I believe the true humming sound you get from good standard dnb is caused by the tension of your ears trying to resolve a sub bass, a reese or two and the high end textures, whilst separately, some funny noises and drums are going on around it.
I think that causes it cos i feel my ears change shape compared to how they feel when listening to metal or 80's pop music, (YES OMG NO WAY, RADIO 2 FTW)
i recall you mentioning nodes before and i wish i knew what you meant by them. The only nodes i know off grow on plants.

Something i learnt recently, morphing is not all about eq'ing, its about composition more than anything. Theres no magic "morph" button that'll make a simple reese line sound good. Not in reason anyway.

So, audio changes i reckon we should have, some of them have been pillaged from other people, and i cba lookin up who right now:
1. Thumbs up/down. Either boost a track you like, or hate it. Its pretty much what goes on anyway with 0's and 5's.
2. split the genres into a few more categories, make it easier for flash artists to find the exact sound they want.
3. Split the genres into longer traks and short loops, maybe with the possibility of saying how many bars loop it is as another property of the track, like the date if you see what i mean.
4. Having to listen to at least some of the track before giving a score. If you were forced to listen to something totally shite though, like when people just bump up total shite, and then not being able to hate on it would be silly.
5. I forget, anything else?
