Some people think being homosexual or having a different religion than themselves is a "problem" and that you can "work on it", but truth is everyone is different, and I think you should just learn to respect that.
I know there are both introverted and extraverted people, but these are just terms made up to lump people into categories. Nobody is 100% extraverted or introverted. Everyone is a bit of something and a whole lot more beside that. In any case you can't say either of the two groups is better than the other. Both sides of the spectrum come with both positive and negative aspects.
Many people like to think they are superior to others. That what they are is perfect, and anything else (skin colour, sex, believe, culture etc) is inferior. I personally don't like that kind of narrow-mindedness.
A lot of good people are like that because they are introvert. Many great artists could not well express their feelings person to person, but they wrote the most brilliant well thought out books, or made the most expressive paintings or whatever.
You say introverted people should change. I think if you would think more about your words instead of blurting out everything that comes to mind, you would be a better person than you're now, or at least less offensive.
I think being more introverted or extraverted is a character trait you can't change. Just embrace who you are, and use your skills for the best. Don't let others talk you down, just because you/they are different, and respect differences in other people as well.

If He's too expensive I guess I have spare change to hire Danny Elfman.
If John Williams is too expensive try Ray William Johnson. Almost the same name right? I'm sure he'll whore himself out just for the attention.

I've already bribed 8Bitster to not show up. Not with money, but by making him a song he couldn't refuse.
So then what bass are you talking about?

Over a week of reviewing, halfway done, and only halve a week left to do the other half... Sounds like you need to Step it up a notch.

She said she downloaded the songs. So I think the playlist isn't on Newgrounds.

I feel the same way. But you know; being able to write a song within two weeks and paying attention at all to whether you're in the competition or not is also a skill. In that respect you've definitely bested your opponent. Maybe Garoad was just intimidated by your submission.

I wasn't sure if I should be happy to go to the next round like this or if I'd preferred to lose in a fair fight. Probably the first. At least now we get a chance to beat an even better (probably) opponent. This won't happen too often after the first round. You'll get a fair competition next time.

Just asking.
Yeah, at least one of his tracks was removed. But that was more than a month ago. He still has several tracks that are legit and sound good as well. He passed the auditions. He wasn't even listed as one of the participants who didn't respond. I thought he'd be in.
I actually stayed up to see what 8Bitster had produced... Where is he?
A lot of songs have yet to come in. 8Bitster has about 40 minutes to kick my ass. But I'm going to sleep now. I'll check the damage in the morning, though I won't know for sure until after the judging.
Wanted to upload this last minute, but better safe than sorry, so here it is.

I may upload some adaptations before the deadline, depending on how it goes.

Same here. Nothing is ever perfect. But there are moments that I think I get a sound just right, and for those moments I'm really happy with it and think the songs will turn out great. Those moments don't last long though. Doubts always return. I no longer try to improve songs as much as I used to. A few years ago I could easily spend months on a single song. It had to be perfect. Right structure, catchy melody, original chord progression, meaningful lyrics, optimal mixing. But when I listen back to those songs they're not perfect at all. I used to add new stuff to and make new mixes of years old songs all the time, only to let them grow obsolete within a few months. Now I finish songs much faster. Sometimes I finish a song in a matter of hours (though that's still rare). I move on to new things quicker, and revisit old songs much more seldom. These time restrictions in competitions are good practice.
Anyway, here's a quick list of how things are going: I think ive done it right..
*Shrugs
Still over 2/3rd of the songs to look forward to. I think one or two people on the list gave up. I don't know what the list should look like now, but I wanted to see a list like that thanks. Looking forward to the complete one once the deadline is reached.
Creating music makes me manically depressed. At times I'm like "This is awesome. I'm going to win/get front paged/become famous (or whatever) for sure." but after a few hours of work it changes to "I can never make this sound right. Nobody will like this. Turn this noise down.". In the end you just work your routine, make the song the way you learned to make it, upload it, be happy with the nice comments you get, and don't care if not everyone likes this.
The song I made could be considered completed. Should I upload it as it is and start working on a new song, or shall I spend the next 7 days on making the song longer?
Once you have created a good sounding snare by adjusting the parameters, you can render the snare with the reverb. and use it as a sample. You can compress the sample to make a thick long stretched sound and cut it off whenever you want, for instance when the kick sounds. Gives a funky effect to accentuate the rhythm.
8Bitster vs calamaistr would be amazing

Not only do I hate the term. I hate actual "real instruments". That's why I only use "fictional instruments". Like the bouzophone, hankopipe, illendoodle and the semi articulated nienteforte.

And Camoshark, of course, did pretty well with jazz.Actually most of the artists in Newgrounds are very..mm..non mainstream, to prove that those artist do have sucess just check last years performance by @TroisNyxEtienne in addition tho those mentioned by Blazing Dragon and also the success @ZipZipper will have this year, you cant get more non mainstream than him xD
I know. Don't take what I say so serious. How'd I know what the formula to succes is? If there were any concrete rules to winning competitions in composing or another form of art, it would've been in the olympics.

It's like rock paper scissors. 8-bit<metal<edm<orchestral<8-bit. Orchestral against metal or 8-bit against edm are draws. Don't try experimental or jazz or anything farfetched like that. Keep it mainstream.

Nope. If you try to sneak you get pounded on. To pound or be pounded.

I sleep with the fishes almost every night. When I wake up in the morning I swim a few laps with concrete around my feet. Then I go into town, say hello to my little friends. For diner I go to the McDonalds drive by. Also I like baseball.
All Newgrounds genres have a lot of music that doesn't fit. This has 2 reasons I think:
1st The genre division here isn't great. There aren't many genres to choose from, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but some of the genres that do exist are specific subgenres of a larger genre you can't always choose.
2nd The up loaders don't always know or care what each genre means or what genre their music is. Even if they do they can't always choose that genre (see reason 1), so they put it in the section they feel fits best.
Also if everyone puts their music in the "wrong" genre, the genres start to get different meanings on NG than they do in the rest of the world, and NG musicians just do what the others here do.
In there at least. Now what kind of song shall I create?
