you cant have a space in an instance name. you said 'bad guy', its gotta be badGuy, or bad_guy or something. also you wrote a comma and then a space after the first ], but it should just be _root ["baddy" + i].hitTest (/**/)

thats about it, you may have duplicated the baddies wrong also.

Alright guys I fixed it using the <p> tags, cuz turns out <p></p> with nothing it it wont add extra space, so though its not that great having it there it still works.

thanks for the help.

i was searching and going through the code - i wrote it all from scratch and understand what everything does - and its just not working. the thing is, it works in every browser but IE, so i think it might just be something weird.

the <p> tags are a good idea but i cant figure out how to replace the <br /><br /> with the p's, cuz the first break is a line above the second break, and if i try to replace <br />\n<br /> its not working.

woah sorry man was making a joke saying that you had figured it out, wasn't trying to offend you. was actually trying to point out my own stupidity by saying that.

but it still doesn't work. i dont know why the regular breaks aren't working cuz thats the way i always do it.

dear god somebody get the president on the phone hes gotta see this.

that could work but whats happening is a new paragraph requires 2 breaks, but then if i try to replace the \n\n then it stops working :\

Then use <p></p> tags for paragraph breaks. Also, justify align your entries rather than having it defaulted because it looks terrible as it is right now.

well how am i supposed to do that? i mean the text isn't just flat coded in right, its submitted from an admin page. so i just replace all \n with <br />, but how would i do that if i was using <p>'s?

I tried changing the font, doesn't make a difference. Tried just doing <html> instead of all the fancy other stuff, still didn't make a difference. What's with this?!

Thanks.

Well NG Pass was one person, ST was 2 people on 5 months so thats more like 10 months compared to a one person entry. although to be fair we weren't very productive a lot of the time.

anyway nic im not mad at you or anything, if you make a game and it does well good for you, but what i meant by that comment was that compared to ST it shoulnd't have even come close, let alone beat it.

anyway thats the way the internet is, im not gonna cry over it im glad to get an award at all to tell the truth.

nope but you can fade stuff in and out using the built in sound manipulator. just click the sound and hit properties, then click custom and there you go. theres an option you can click so that it shows the frame number is association with the sound, so that's basically a sound tween right there.

I've gotten 3 games sponsored with AG. Just email daniel at sponsorship@armorgames.com and if you have a decent game then he'll sponsor it probably. Make sure you don't submit the game anywhere until you talk to him if you want it sponsored. He is busy at the moment though since he just released his site.

so I would need a table with every member and every game? like i could stick every thing i want to rate as a new field into my members table, but then it could end up having hundreds of fields. and vice versa, i could have each user as a feild in each content table, but then im still looking at hundreds of fields. is that the only way of doing it?

I don't think that's even close to what I need. I need to keep track of who has voted on what. Your query just checked if the username was something, and if the game was some game. It didn't really do anything at all.

Hey guys. I want to have registered users vote on the stuff on my website. But I don't know how to do that. I would want each user to only be able to vote once on each submission, so I would need to keep track of which users voted on what. I know how to do the average though, just have a score and number of votes record for each thing. but its the keeping track of who has voted that is stumping me.

Thanks.

I know what post and get are bro i use them all the time, whether or not you can manipulate post you still wouldn't use get to send a highscore, you use post.

anyway i figured out the problem turns out theres a bug in the send method that makes it always send get when you test locally, says so in the comments for the method in livedocs. problem solved.

Then anybody can just type in &score=100 into the addres and they'll have gotten a score of 100. do you even know what get and post means?

For some reason when I do this it sends it using GET (the variables are visible in the address). Anybody know how I can send it using POST?

var highscoreObject:LoadVars = new LoadVars ();
highscoreObject.nameSend = "Name";
highscoreObject.scoreSend = 26;
highscoreObject.send ("http://www.snubbyland.com/highscores_theWorldsHardestGame.php", "_blank", "POST");
