Edited text I know, but I'm curious as to what this 'crew' would actually discuss pertaining to things like CCTV. These cameras I have a severe dislike for.
Apparently there's a camera in Britain for every 100 or so people living here, that could be a major misconception or it could be worse according to certain sources.
I live in a not so quiet street, but it's by no means the worst. Every month through the letter box we get a newsletter addressing the crime in the surrounding areas. It gives you such things as incidents when the police, fire brigade, ambulance service had to be called to a scene which in some cases over the last few years (In my personal view, I know certain things) have saved lives. Which is all well and good.
But the worst thing about these news letters is the fact that they give out phone numbers to call if you think something or someone should have the cameras eye on them. Now, is this not a breach of civil liberties if a camera/s can follow you for several miles because someone had a idea/hunch/severe dislike for you? True, sometimes such a hunch will lead to the arrest of a dangerous individual, but as some reports admit, only one case in one thousand actually leads to a prosecution or even the police getting involved.
I for one hate the idea that everything I do can be watched by others. Outside the sanctuary of my own castle I can be pinpointed and followed from when I leave to go to work and back again. This apparently is for my own safety.
In my opinion this just cannot stand.
(This rant is brought to you from apparently, Europes 'murder capital', Glasgow).
If this is not the subject the club/crew was intended for please ask for my post to be deleted. I will not hold it against you.
