You can find a "custom" button in the line properties panel. I created this crayon-like line messing about with the settings, you can get the effect doing that too.
Well, to be frank, that avatar kind of sucked.
But anyway, to the point. I don't know if you're talking about emoticons or your display picture, but emotes sometimes don't show if they haven't loaded. If you right click on a blank space where an emote should be, there should be a square marking the boundary of the GIF.
Hi all,
I've just finished my flash website. I want to embed it in a HTML document and I already have the HTML code for that, but the problem now is that I don't have a program to put the code into. A program like Dreamweaver can take code and save it into a document. I want something like that, but I don't want to download any big or major programs because it's just one simple task.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Hi everyone!
I made this messing around with Flash when I was bored. I thought it looked really nice, so I just wanted to share this and maybe get some comments. I'm thinking now how it could be used somewhere, any ideas?
Using the "A" button to advance was really bad--consider using voice or just subtitles. It's troublesome to click that button to continue watching the movie. Also, the style of the speech bubbles didn't fit with the sprite theme. Try using a pixelated speech bubble that looks like it came from the same sprite library.
I will join! I'm not exactly used to animating to music, but I'll give it a go. The parts are rather short.... I'll have part 11.
I'm about in that stage too. I'm trying now to learn more advanced scripting and not just gotoAndStop. My method of learning is to download source FLA files of tutorials from the net, then mess about with the variables to see what each part of the script does. I've learnt a lot like this, it may work for you.

I mean, it's a good trace I guess, but it isn't really your artwork. It beats the one on the left though.
Isn't that tracing?
Anyway, it's a good trace. Keep working and soon you won't be needing reference images :)
Hmm... I'm still not exactly sure. This is the code I put in, but it doesn't seem to make a difference:
#flashcont{
margin: auto;
}
<div id="flashcont">
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.swfup.com/uploads/swf-163328.swf" width="1000" height="400" class="file_border">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.swfup.com/uploads/swf-163328.swf" />
</object>
</div>
Oh, so replace FLASH FILE with the url? I'll try it out, thanks.
Google for a platform engine or tutorial. That should help.
You need a batting average of 3.0. Read the collab rules.
Hmmm.... you could use stopallsounds.
Hey all
I'm having a little problem here... How do I put a Flash movie on a page using CSS that overlaps everything else? The Flash movie I plan to put on the page is 1000 pixels wide, and I want it to be centred on the page.
I don't have any experience in CSS at all, it isn't anything like the HTML I'm familiar with. I don't intend to learn how to use CSS, I just need some quick help. I've tried google, but I'm not exactly sure what kind of terms to search for and I keep getting unrelated results.
Can someone give me the code and tell me where I should put it, please?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Kolpols is a great review righter.
This submission is stolen from http://www.gamesgames.com/game92050.html .
There's nothing on the authors profile, and his site obviously isn't gamesgames.com.
Did this about 2 months back. Sorry bout the low quality--I used a camera. I'm not a very good painter... comments?
an emu-duck and its generic-looking egg!
Whoa, it's great. Maybe you should make the view of the island zoom in and out and have some helicopter sounds. The birds in the scene of the boat were kind of unrealistic as well, perhaps make them move across the sky. Or remove them altogether. That aside, great animation, voice acting, theme song and effort! Good luck.
I think the first option is best. You just need 3 fingers on 3 buttons, and you can change the colour right away without having to scroll through the colours with SHIFT or having to move around just to change the colour. Also, for the second option, some users may have a problem with StickyKeys (I disabled it =D).
Do you have any idea how much effort it takes to make a quality Flash?
Just edit the symbol. Double click on it, then work with the timeline and frames just like you do outside of a symbol.
Hmm... the font is a bit generic and the blue colour doesn't match well with the background. For buttons you can draw rectangles but set the fill alpha to 0% so it doesn't show.
I don't think there's a way to do that, apart from FBF. Or you can use mask, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

Nothing.
Game Maker is used mostly for sprite games. I used to use it, but I don't like it because of the tile system it's limited to.
I may decide to join. I don't exactly understand though... is it something like this?
It depends on what kind of animation you're doing. If you're just changing the shape of something, you can use the selection tool to drag/bend a line by a little every frame. Or if you're doing something really complicated like an explosion, you can redraw every frame from nothing (it can be tedious. I don't like it)
It looks neat. I like the dirt flying about (or whatever those brown things are). Can you post a preview? The animation you've done so far?
It is hard to draw with your mouse. Using the brush tool will make your drawing look squiggly and untidy. Try using the line tool to create straight lines, then use the selection tool to bend and shift the lines (works best for me)
Try googling for flash tutorials, or try flashkit.com. Don't expect your first game to be fantastic - it takes time to learn AS.
