Another thing I did for myself. It's not exactly a logo... just some kind of square picture (with my favourite colours in it)

A logo I did for myself a long time back. It isn't very good now that I look at it again, but good enough.

Bytheway, I do all my art in Adobe Flash, with a mouse and line tool.

Wow, all very good art. But you use too many gradients, especially on the NaziAmericanOfficer guy. I mean, it's okay to use gradients, but don't make the contrast between the colours too great (e.g black --gradient--> white)

Response to: Some artwork I did... Posted June 27th, 2008 in Art

Wow! Really great shading and designs! Everything is beautiful. You should sell some of your art to tattoo artists, I've heard they pay cash for these things. Keep going, I love your art.

Response to: My try drawing Piconjo as anime. Posted June 25th, 2008 in Art

Nice attempt, looks pleasing. Suggestions, though:

The lines, especially on the arms and shirt, look stiff and straight, so maybe curve them a little.
Shadings are okay, but too subtle. The shadow on the background should be blurred.
The top of his eyes should be curved upwards slightly.
Sword needs a redo, it somewhat lacks detail. Also add a reflection to the sword so it's shiny.

Sorry for the bad squiggly quality. I draw with a mouse.

Response to: Animation help Posted June 23rd, 2008 in Game Development

I see what you're trying to do here.... That may be a little difficult because of the textures and colour of the paper, but you can make it more realistic by having the squiggly part at the bottom of the unrolled part. Also, animate f-b-f a little when it finishes rolling; make the edges look like they're being revealed.

Yep, practise. And effort. Take time to make your animation smooth.

So do I, I don't work very well on the computer because I use a mouse. If only it was convenient for me to scan my stuff. I would post everything =D Now I'm using a camera which is kind of lousy, so I have to adjust the lighting a bit on the PC.

I use Flash to do all my digital art, 'cos I don't have any other program. It's really flexible, especially the line tool. Draw a line, then bend and stretch with the arrow tool.

It needs a little getting used to, but you can do great things with it.

Visit my art thread through my sig, I have examples.

Response to: and... Done! Posted June 16th, 2008 in Art

Nice, I like it. The colours match well.

I think I'm just being perfectionist here, but there are some little faults. The windows on the house are irregular (you should have aligned them with a ruler). Also, the wagon thing on the bottom left. The wheels are a little off, it appears to be at a different angle from the cart.

But what the heck, it's a great painting. And no one is likely to change their paintings once they've completed it. Keep it up.

Ha ha, thanks loads.

The below picture is a photo of something I did on my room wall. It looks more realistic when you see it in real life, but this is the best picture I can get with my not-so-professional camera.

I love bananas!!!!

I love the lines, body proportions are almost perfect.

Response to: Someone help with sprite movie Posted June 16th, 2008 in Game Development

Or you can just open the sprite in MS Paint and save as a PNG. I'm not sure if that will work, I can't try it cos my MS Paint got removed somehow. Anyway, good luck.

Oops, I meant after I framed it.

Here's another.

In Aesthetics class we were supposed to draw random lines to the beat of music, and then colour in the spaces. The result.

Hmmm...

It's a little too sketchy. Make the lines cleaner.

Also, the fur on the animal's tummy. It looks like black human hair, not animal fur. Make it part of the animal's shape, not lines extending from the tummy. See the picture.

Sprites - How do they do it? Posted June 9th, 2008 in Art

Hey everyone,

I want to start doing sprites and pixel art, because I find it more flexible for animations and stuff. Also, it looks nice. Also also also, I'm getting tired of vector. Vector is just too smooth and perfect and real.

I can make simple sprites now, with MS Paint (I don't have a tablet). Yes, they really are very simple.

I've been playing MapleStory, an MMORPG. The creatures and characters are all pixels, and they are beautiful.

I was just wondering how to be as pro as them, or how to start being pro. I'm still stuck with Mario-like sprites, which I think aren't very good-looking.

Below image is from MapleStory (property of Nexon)

Response to: Shadow Creations Posted June 4th, 2008 in Art

Hmmm... not exactly impressive. It can be done rather easily, even in Flash (like what I do).

I suggest you try creating your own characters instead of just turning already-made characters completely black.

Response to: Newgrounds Backgrounds Sketches Posted June 4th, 2008 in Art

They're all good.

The lines... a little too sketchy. Make them cleaner.

Keep going. Soon enough you'll be making your own art

instead of ripping it off the downloads section

Yep. Great picture, i like the background. The face... it's a bit blurry in some parts. Make it sharp like the nose, or make the nose blurry to fit in.

I'm quite happy, thanks.

I think you should scan it in parts then compile it together on the computer. Hmmm.... you should have a friend who has a scanner, don't you? I'm sure he won't charge you much money.
