The website looks very nice, the community is all chill and friendly. The website is user friendly too. Once in a while they announce remix contests, and every month, there is a different free 8 loop pack available to download for free.
Though, after 4 years of myself not visiting--going on an unplanned hiatus from music--they changed something. You have to register with an account now (either free or via ProZone account) to both listen and download any music. That's a downer. :/
Maybe that's the reason some of my favorite artists from there haven't updated with new tunes or skits in a few years.
I know found one of my favorite artists from AP on SoundCloud recently, so I'm happy about that. Silexz Studios now goes by as just Silexz, who does some really nice trance and some epic cinematic tracks. I think I found someone else too that I listened to on AP, but I'm not entirely sure. I intend to see I anyone else I like from AP has moved there. There's about 53 artists in my favorites list, including a few awesome people I just got into.
Reviewed both of those rockin' songs. Suggestions and encouragement went towards both. Best of luck that they get even better than before. :)
Upbeat, melody-driven electro-rock track!
Nirvana - School (cover)
I'd like some feedback on this remix I did, please. I know I still have to work on the custom beats (and will keep at it, I refuse to give up on it). I also think I could maybe do that last transition towards the end a little better but how about everything else?
Remix of my first Dubstep (Duh-Duh-Duh Dubstep)
Hey I know and understand how you feel. It's true, time really does fly! I've graduated from high school in 2002, and there are friends, classes, and teachers I still miss sometimes. I can't imagine myself going to those high school reunions though. It'd be nice to just come across my old school friends more. It only happens once in a while. :(
All I can tell you is to try and enjoy what school time you've got. That's all you can really do. And have a good sophomore year.
Also, why not listen to both rock and dubstep? I do! Music doesn't just have to be about just one genre.
Sure, why not? I'll share something. But first, I have say, I was felt sort of more drawn to "The Dark Side of the Moon" than "Moonshine Blues". I have a Pink Floyd album which goes by the same title and it's a great one. Also, the rhymes and imagery express a dark beauty to it that I liked.
As for what I offer to share, I decided to go with this oldie I wrote that's based on a dream I once had, something unlike any other dream I ever had. This one I picked doesn't rhyme, but they it does express what I thought and felt at the time. (I can't recall what this dream was all about, except abiyt this guy I don't know in real life, and he seemed to genuinely hold a deep interest towards me. Whatever happened throughout this dream, it caused me to not want to forget or dismiss it.)
The Nice Guy
Is there really someone out there like you?
I wonder...
Would you be open, honest, and funny?
I wonder...
Are you just a dream?
Are you just a figment of my imagination?
I wonder...
What made you so interested in me?
I wonder...
Is Elliot even your real name?
Did you really think I was funny?
I wonder...
Did you really have a good time with me?
I wonder...
Was it okay, with having my best friend around?
Will I see you again?
I wonder...
Were you some random inspiration?
I wonder...
Why do I even care?
Can I meet you face to face someday?
I wonder...
Do you even really exist?
I wonder...
Do you really, really like me?
You linger across my memory
I didn't let you fade away, not completely
You're right here, on this page
Hmm, well it's a start! The word "super-biological-weapon" doesn't seem to fit in with everything else. Also, while I was reading this, I wondered about some things. What kind of sniper is David? Is he a good shot? Is he with the good guys, or bad guys? Who hired him? Who is he sniping, and what had led him to be a sniper in the first place?
The prologue could be written out a bit better, in my honest opinion. There ought to be a little more in length, too. C'mon, give us more of a hint as to what's going on! :)
I admit, your prologue does attract my curiosity. That's definitely good. There is a chance that this would get better once you keep writing more of the story.
Through the rhyming schemes, and short length, some of these are quite dark. They're like short stories, but through rhyme!
I'm into the dark stuff myself as well. In person I'm a friendly, nice person. Sometimes too nice. Everyone's got a dark side, so for me my darkness often shows through my writings.
Your poetry is quite good. I especially liked the first two poems about the birds, and the one on seeing the fish while drowning. I think I would read more from you, once you post more of them up. :)
Eh, why not? There's a writing forum, and I do like writing a lot. Gosh, I have written so many poems... I have a handful in a pile near where I'm sitting as I type, and I'm only picking one or two to share for now. I know I want to read what others have posted too, and comment.
*looks through pile* I suppose I'll post this old favorite first! It's a free form style about an anti-social video game character. That's the subject of this piece of my preference. I once pondered, what if no one was able to get him to open up? That lead up to writing this.
Though, I didn't mention any names, so you're welcome to interpret the person as someone you may know of in real life, or some other character if you'd like!
The Glass Bottle
There...
Right there he sulks
To himself
...To himself
"I don't care..."
He doesn't really give a damn
About anyone but himself
...But himself
Bottling it up inside
His own mind, his only place to hide
Let the worries, thoughts, emotions
Fill the bottle up
Contempt...
A contempt look in his eyes
...His eyes
Feel...
Feel the stare down, cold and reflective
As steel
...As steel
The shell
Reflects your words back to you
Like talking, literally, to a wall
You cannot take away his pain
You try to at least talk with him
But his look pushes you away
He thinks about what you said though
Not sharing his thoughts, he fills the bottle more
Running...
He's always running from his past
...From his past
Figuring...
He figures his future will cure what he lacks
...What he lacks
Seeing his childhood as a disgrace
One memory of his past still remains
The number of times, seeing the boy
Himself as the boy...fills the bottle even more
Ticked...
He's ticked that you won't leave him alone
...Alone
Sick...
Feeling sick to his stomach, he walks off
Alone
The weight of the bottle
Pushing him down
Too much he's stored
Starts to spill out
Quick! Screw the lid tight
The stress of it increases its contents
It explodes, out of control
It is broken
The pieces scatter, damaging anyone in their path
Broken down now, he cannot save himself
He cannot hold back any longer...
Down...
He's so down, he can't pick himself up
...Up
Torn...
His heart and mind torn
Gazing upon the broken pieces...
Of his glass bottle
Well, I'm definitely a writer. Been writing things for years, so why not? I'll sign up. I'll be around for as much as I can here!
1) Your Pen Name for Newgrounds (This will be what we call you within our workshops and group conversations)
SilverFox Jams or DarkWriter. You all may refer to me as DW or SFJ. Easy enough to remember, right?
2) Type of Writing Preferred (Novels, Screenplays, Video Games, all, etc.)
For the time being for totally original fictional writings that are finished, I have poems/lyrics. I have this awesome audio recorder on my laptop, and who knows? I might actually start writing more lyrics to sing with the music I make someday, or read my poetry over music, or some kind of ambience I do (that'd be neat)... I also admit I'd like to build and write a novel at some point too.
3) Past Experience (List all of your past works whether unpublished or published. *Please note if they have been finished)
I have a mass amount of poems, and a lot of them are finished. None of them are published yet, but I have shared some around my dad (who used to write things while he could still see) and a group of younger people who shared their poetry in a public library. (I miss that group! It was so fun. It's a shame that it doesn't exist anymore.)
4) Your greatest strength and weakness.
I can describe things really well, and I'm very good in writing third person perspective. That has to be my greatest strength on story things. When writing my poetry it's usually in first person. Sometimes I express a lot in my poetry, especially when I do freestyle.
My big, big weakness, for novel writing material I believe is not having enough original ideas to start one. Another big weakness I have is staying motivated on any original characters I come up with... In addition to that one, it's keeping interest in it. I have a few original characters I write with friends online, for role-play writing. There's just the one I've been constantly sticking with. The others I either forget or just lose interest on. *sigh*
Please quote this line in your reply.
And to answer The-Great-One's question, I have way too many on my pleasure reading list! Now there isone more book on it, and it's by a favorite spooky writer, Whitley Strieber. It is titled "Hybrids".
The last actual novel I finished reading the whole way through was this really dark yet really good book by Orson Scott Card called "Ender's Game". I'm keeping a look out for the next book in that series! I saw the movie first and liked it very much, so I was curious and found a copy of the book at my bookshop, so I now have it on my bookshelf, to read again sometime.
I've yet to pick up and read "The Book of Night With Moon" by Diane Duane--I hope I spelled her name right. There's also favorites want to reread from the beginning again.
...Yeah, I read mostly sci-fi/fantasy, but there are a few exceptions. I like Jeff Lindsay's Dexter series a lot (I honestly like the books more than the TV show), I have those Monk TV tie-in novels, and there's this one non-fiction book about the grunge band I've been a fan of called Nirvana I'll have to re-read from the beginning, since it's been a while since I first read it.
There is this fairly new show on the FX channel called The Strain. It's a sort of new spin on the vampire genre where it's a virus epidemic that's changing people into these vampires with freaky long tongues! Oh, and there are those parasitic thin worms that are like ring worms. Last Sunday's episode had a moment that creeped me out. The ex-wife of the CDC guy got attacked by her boyfriend. While she was fighting him, one of those worms escaped from the guy and went right into her eye! *SHUDDER* Both gross and creepy.
The entire show gets creepy at times, but that moment really made my skin crawl a little.
LiquidOoze: It was for the best that the relationship ended. That had to be a lot of negativity going on. Love is tough, and complicated sometimes, even though it shouldn't be! It is a long story on what I've gone through, so I'll sum it up by saying that the guy who loved me was someone I couldn't love back. We were just too different.
AeroMusic: Hey there. Yeah, I used to be a long time lurker around NG, so I've had my account for a few weeks! I've been doing my various instrumentals on and off for years. Feel free to see some of the many I have completed, both old and new.
Oh, and Sequenced, my honest mistake on the Review for a Review thread. I intend to try to be a better reviewer, so I'll know better next time.
I have a combination of both new and old instrumental creations I've completed. In time I'll upload more of my best stuff, out of about 40 something creations I did in all.. Here's my newest one:
a Down Tempo piece
I've also uploaded some sample loops I did recently. If you'd like to try and do anything with them, you're welcome to download those! Just make sure to both credit me and let me know if you've used the samples in your tracks, because I'd be curious and interested when it comes to listening to how any of you would like to use 'em.

Sounds like a sort of Ambient instrumental to me. :) I like it, by the way. The track sounds really nice. (Love the strings and bells playing. Great sound quality too.) It should be longer though, in my honest opinion.

^ Already reviewed EnTrance. Excellent song!
I also reviewed this one recently:

The following here is my newest jam. I know I love it (too much), but I'm curious to see what you guys and gals think:
a Down Tempo piece
I have attempted to post something on my own NG page about the music I do three times and I keep getting the same error message: "Oops! ERROR — 0 is not a valid news post ID."
What does this mean? Am I not doing something right, or is this just a really annoying website error a mod could fix? Help please. I have no idea what to do about this.
Dark red Asian daylilies are something I've grown before, outside my bookshop from spring through mid-summer. *inserts pic* They're one of my favorites. I also really like bearded irises, prim roses, and snap dragons.

Oooo! Well if I'm up to looking for some new sounds to jam with, I'll check those out.
I'll be sure to look through those sites at some point! Thanks a lot for sharing. :)
http://www.freeloopsdownload.com/index.html <--I've got this to add! Cool instrument and sound effect loops can be found there... As well as free VSTs! I downloaded Waspy LE, and I love it--soooo much. With a VST, and a good sound recorder/editor such as Audacity, you can make your own sample loops. :D
I'm proud of...
-having a very good and somewhat broad music taste
-the fact my bookstore business is getting better
-the fact I don't have to be a jerk to anyone so I can live happily
-all my other talents
-my awesome friends (online and in real life)
-my dad (even though he's getting old and can't be on the move a lot, he's still fairly active and helpful towards other people)
-to be alive
-....for being honest, rather than my failure to put in anything particularly witty. :P
I can't say anyone professional has used anything I did... Not yet anyway.
I felt like poking in here and saying hi. How is everyone? Good, I hope. I've been enjoying my "weekend". I don't work at my book shop on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I call it as such. (Though I do work independently at my own business, I can still have fun over there.)
Currently taking a small break from experimenting with audio, making my own loops and samples.
I do instrumentals of various sorts, and sure, you can play my stuff. Have a listen at these and pick out what you like.
