Yep. We'd gone parking down a back road in the woods like the kids in the old horror flicks. Steaming up the windows and such.
No one murdered us but a cop did come by. Didn't notice us, so we got dressed and got out of there.

ditto. The taste and noises were the most annoying part.

Just kidding brah, I hope you feel better and that this doesn't happen again.
If you have a bad enough seizures, results can be similar to a stroke. I had a pretty bad one that left me with short term memory loss and confusion for weeks. Ultra lame.

Ibuprofen is the only thing that works for me, regarding pain. Anything else otc is worthless.
But disruption in your sleep/eating patterns can cause more seizures. So do try to eat.
You got a smoothie King near you? You can get some vitamin/calorie/carb packed shakes.
I'm almost to my one year mark since I've had a seizure. Crossing my fingers.
Also that sucks they haven't got things straightened out for you yet.

I'm going back in 2 weeks to specifically focus on the root causes on my seizures and also seeing my neurologist soon, though I'm sure his mind is more focused on keeping me medicated whether it'll help me or not. I think I may end up ultimately requiring an endocrinologist.
Yeah and that basic blood test they're doing on you, a CBC or whatnot, doesn't really tell you shit. I had soooooo many blood tests before someone finally decided to look and see if I was absorbing vitamins (which a basic blood test does NOT look at, nor does a basic blood panel look at your hormones) It gives them a white blood cell count, a red blood cell count, and your iron--some of them don't even look at your sugar or cholesterol.
Everytime, they said "everything looks normal, here's more meds"
So stay on them.

I made one for Tarah, which she did get.
I made one for Luis.

If you actually read my first post, I didn't say that the seizure was definitely caused by the high level of heat--I said it was probably the case. A year later in 2011, I didn't get any heat-induced seizures, but I'm sure I was at risk for them.
I would have them all year, all weathers. So heat made no difference for me. I work out a lot, lots of cardio, and I've only had one working out, ever.
Also SevenSeize, I haven't seen a cardiologist yet but I'll have to bring up the possibility of that too during my next internist appointment. If I need a referral, I'll probably get one. I think if I actually had epilepsy, there would be something obvious in my EEG, MRI and CAT scan and the anticonvulsant I'm on would work as it should. My neurologist though didn't seem to want to hear any alternative treatment suggestions that didn't involve medication--he's in at least his 70s and said to me, "If you have two or more seizures, you need to be on anticonvulsants--period." I truly hope I don't get sent in for a an MRI with contrast because a potentially bad reaction to gadolinium is something I've always been worried about too.
My neurologist was the same way, he wouldn't hear anything of it. I had to get my referral from my primary care doctor.
Lemme know how it goes, if you don't feel like posting it on the forums, you can always PM me, because I've been there and it sucks a ton. I know how you feel man.
At 41 minutes ago, Bees wrote: 7c's and gory how do you catch your tongues if you're alone???
I've never had a convulsion seizure, or a grand mal, which are the most dangerous.
I tend to go blank and stop responding to anyone (absence seizure) and then the worse ones end up with me on the ground unconscious.
I have hurt myself pretty badly when passing out, which sounds kinda impossible, but you gotta think about it, you go out cold, and you don't have time to brace yourself. Last time I was sitting on a bench at a party, and I fell head first into the ground.
Totally hot.
I've been told you can't actually swallow your tongue/bite it, whatever, during a grand mal but that if you witness someone having one, don't touch them, just clear the area around them.

The one and only EEG I've ever had done was the day right after I posted this thread almost 2 years ago. It came back normal, not abnormal. That was also true with the CAT scan they put me through in the hospital on the day of the incident, and the MRI (no contrast) I had later that week. I found it to be incredibly annoying to have to pay for all of these imaging tests only to have them not give me a single piece of useful information.
I totally understand because all of mine were the saaaaame way.
And be careful if they do decide to do anything WITH contrast. I'd had like 5 over the years, no issues.
3 weeks ago I had another (unrelated to seizures, chick problems ) and I had a reaction to the dye. Went into shock and almost died. Major lameness.
Bring someone with you if they ever tell you that you're having one with contrast and go to the ER if you feel your throat closing up/can't breathe.
The neurologist administered a blood test on me but told me no such thing, although I think vitamin absorption issues could also be a very real possibility for me. I may need more extensive blood work done. I most recently saw my neurologist on February 16th (I had a seizure the day before) and the only thing he had to say about my blood test was that he saw indications of collagen vascular disease, but didn't really offer a solution and didn't really explain if in fact it might have been tied with my seizures. I actually went the entire age of 21 without a single seizure, which is in fact quite remarkable. I've only been 22 for less than a month and already I've had 2 of those god damn things--the second time despite taking the meds as instructed. Something clearly has to be done that isn't being done now.
Have you tried to see a cardiologist? Like has anyone ever looked at your heart to make sure it's nothing like that?
It took them years to sort anything out with me, I know how damn annoying it is--especially being so young.
When you're 25 sitting in a room with a ton of people in their 80s, you're just like "wtf???why do I have all these issues when I am so young???"
Aight...my goal for right now is to do enough so that I can go at least 6 months without a seizure. I hope that isn't too unrealistic given my current condition.
I know that deficits in any vitamin and mineral can cause neurological issues. I was completely in shock when they told me I wasn't absorbing any vitamins, because I've always been a little bit of a health nut. I've always taken vitamins and eaten well.
Turned out I just needed MORE vitamins.
I only had a fraction of what I should have had for my B vitamins in my system, my DR said I was lucky because that can put you in a coma.
I googled it when I got home (because if it's on the internet , it's true!!!) and sure enough, I found article after article saying b vitamin deficiencies can cause seizures.
You stay on them! Don't let them keep throwing meds at you, don't let them tell you it's all in your head. Get this shit taken care of while you are young.

i became conciousness on the way to hospital and they probably asked whether i needed an oxygen mask. i was very confused though and thought i was a dream. then i was taken directly to a room where i was given a CT scan, and they said there were white spots inside my brain, but they couldn't tell whether it was just calcium deposits or a hermherrage.
it turned out i had a fatally low level of calcium in my blood.
So are you all ironed out now? Did increasing your calcium intake fix it?
And I'm not anti medication by any means. I just got annoyed I took them for years, without ever having a test that showed epilepsy, to be told years later I never had it all along and some blood work coulda saved me tons of drama.
The thing with seizures is that tons of shit can cause them, besides epilepsy.
Hitting puberty can cause them, hormones can cause them.
Hitting your head (bad accidents) can cause them.
Hopefully we can all be cured and we won't need a seizures club in the C&C forum.

I'm intrigued now. I'll have a talk with my internist about this (she's pretty conservative when it comes to prescribing medications anyway--that's why I like her so much), since most of the solutions my neurologist has brought up just involves more medications and expensive testing. I'll continue taking the Keppra he prescribed me for now but I want to get off it soon.
Have you had an abnormal EEG? Like have they mentioned what sort of brain wave abnormalities you're having or what region of your brain they are coming from? Often they'll say they see "slowing" or they'll tell you the issue is in your temporal region, etc.
My EEGs were always normal, which is why it annoyed the hell outta me that they just treated me with a ton of drugs for epilepsy.
If someone had done extensive blood work on me years ago, they'd have seen I wasn't absorbing any vitamins.
You can get sublinguals over the counter too.
Something else, I looked at your profile, and if you're truthing, I was your age when I started having seizures.
I'm glad you have a doctor who is open to other treatments.
I feel 10000% better now I'm off seizure meds. They made me damn near narcoleptic.
So totally keep us posted.

That joke is popular among my friends. :-)
I started having seizures and passing out in 2007. They did a million CT scans, EEGs, EKGs, MRIs, sleep studies etc and nothing showed anything. But I'd have seizures weekly, and finally they got bad enough to where I'd be unconscious for several minutes. At one point, I even lost my driver's license. Ive seen TONS of doctors (I have great insurance) and they come up with nothing. They put me on several seizure meds which didn't work, gave me other worse health issues, horrible side effects, or gave me allergic reactions. Finally I had an endocrinologist do some serious blood panels on me and they noticed I wasn't absorbing any vitamins--particularly b12--so they put me on sublinguals. I take sublinguals under my tongue every morning, I take more around lunch, then a regular one a day vitamin at night. It's been a year since I've had a seizure.
I really hope they can figure this out for you.

I heard Fallout 4 was being developed but I cannot recall by who. I won't lie, I'd buy and play it regardless of who made it or where it was set or if it were an MMO. I'm such a fan of the post apocalyptic genre.
As for the DLC, they were good. Nothing phenomenal but enjoyable. I got the collectors edition or whatever when it came out, with the poker chips etc. Downloaded the dlc later through evil Steam.

Well actually I made 3. I made one for Luis, one for Tarah, and then one for a random NG member.
I also included all of the change from my purse to help tip strippers/buy beer etc.
But I did get one from gagsy and it had glitter and was beautiful and is hanging on my wall next to my Christmas card from missjuicyflava (I hope I spelled that right)

I totally understand why you are upset. But this is NOT newgrounds.com's fault.
We cannot stop him from saving your art work, we cannot stop him from taking a screenshot, taking out his camera and snapping a pic etc.
If you upload any of your artwork anywhere online, it can get stolen. That's just the internet.
Calm down.
You need to get the link from where you posted it on NG. You need to send a polite e-mail/PM to the admins or mods at 4chan.
Keep it simple and to the point. "I am so and so. Here is a link to my artwork on newgrounds.com. So and so from your site has posted it as his own. Can you please have it removed. Thank you."

Oh totally, but not until I've finished the game. Or if there's a bug I'm trying to fix.
On skyrim I had to turn off combat to fix that forever mourning bug in the companions, but it worked, then I turned combat back on and resumed being attacked by bears.

Get it completely silent in your room. No music etc.
Focus first on getting still. Then focus on going limp.
Breathe in slowly through your nose, until you feel the air grow cold (in your nose). Exhale through your mouth.
Do that about a minute or two, it'll help lower your heart rate, which will help you relax.
I don't drink a lot of caffeine, but work keeps me stressed, so I use yoga/relaxation techniques to help clear my mind and get to sleep quickly on weeknights when I cannot afford to lay there awake.

I like when people put their real pictures, but online, it's so easy to just find someone else's.
My icon is Xena Warrior Princess because I dig her. I am old and I watched her on TV when I was younger. There is no hidden meaning or reason.
Before the redesign, I think my little image was a velociraptor, which is my occupation as well.
As a professional raptor, I also appreciate meat themed icons. (bacongrounds was beautiful)
I had some King Cake and I watched some of our local Mardi Gras parade from inside yesterday. I don't do New Orleans. I usually go down there during the off season. They party all year anyway, so going during the summer just means less of a crowd.
