It hasn't received nearly the attention I feel it should have, from the media. Most scientists and meteorologists are confident this was the strongest storm to ever exist on this planet, and 10,000 is a horrible number. We made it through Katrina and Rita....I cannot imagine this coming my way.

I'm about 100 miles inland, but I think I'd still leave if this presented here.

A bet three weeks, maybe two.

As long as she's still passing money onto him, her daddy could not care less who/what she does.

I don't blame you for quitting, you are being walked all over. You did the right thing and put in your 2 weeks notice, which is the professional thing to do.
And I agree they should be tipping you. I tip extra if it is raining or really hot outside etc.

I wouldn't lose much sleep over it. Just keep moving forward and find something else. Continue to work hard.

It'll be ok, don't worry.

My best friend is Vietnamese and when we go eat at Asian food places, she always orders things not on the menu and they fix it up for her. Her little girl is 5 or 6 and she will just order hot water with seaweed in it, and a bowl of cucumbers.

She is also handy to take to the nail salon with me. She's not fluent, but she's taught me their words for "stupid" and "bitch" which is pretty useful.

Response to: What has NG done for you? Posted September 29th, 2013 in General

I've made a ton of friends here who treat me better than some of my real life friends. They check on me more often and we stay up all night on the phone sharing secrets and having sex and other cool crap. I've met them in real life more than once and they are awesome people to hang out with.

This website kept me sane in high school because I'm a bit older than most of the people here. When I was in high school a good 11 years ago, gaming hadn't quite exploded yet and Newgrounds provided me with wholesome entertainment, particularly Pico, which I played in class, in computer lab. My school admins had no clue how to block websites at that time.

I don't have the talent a lot of the other users have here with programming etc. but I feel like, as far a hub of artists and animators, there is no other website comparable. Our portal, our community= the most talented, funny people in the world. Even with the cock jokes and letter B and octagons and squares.

And they all lived happily ever after, the end

Response to: Man wants to make town whites only Posted September 22nd, 2013 in General

Even though he is clearly an idiot and the premise is horrible, if it were the other way around, CNN would not be reporting on it.

The black community is allowed to be racist. They have that website, "this is where black people meet.com"............Can you IMAGINE if someone were advertising a "white people only" dating site on TV at night??? I have come across Facebook page after page of "black power" which promote not marrying other races, how all historical figures were really black, white women are not beautiful, and sadly, some of the pages even promote any violence against whites, stating that a white death is not a crime at all because white people are hateful.

So. Thanks CNN for continuing to promote racism and hatred---one sided. If we want to make people like this go away, we need to quit giving them media attention.

I hope the one black resident finds peace and happiness and the ignorant people around him leave or he finds a much better and nicer place to live.

I don't understand how anyone, on either side, can have such hatred for someone based on simply the color of their skin and no other reasoning. But that might be because I have boobs. I don't understand people who kick puppies and such either. Stop being fuckheads and love each other damn it.

And I think we can all safely assume Jesse Jackson will certainly be working hard to see these young men prosecuted, as a hate crime is a terrible thing.

Response to: Cost of living? Posted August 7th, 2013 in General

Cost of living is way cheaper where I live (the south). I bought a house. It's 2600 square feet (4 bedroom, 2 bath) and it's new, 2008 construction. I only pay $1292.00 a month for it.

Buuuut.......since cost of living is lower, so is everything else. We don't get paid crap. I make about 40K a year, with my bachelors degree. Same job and same degree in New England, I'd be making 60 or 70K a year.

Response to: I got arrested yesterday Posted July 21st, 2013 in General

I know 2 other people who were involved in car accidents with law enforcement, and it was the law enforcer's fault, and both people were given the run around because the officers claimed, "Our lights were on, we were heading out to ____ and you were supposed to yield to us bla bla bla" But no, they weren't. That is such BS. Their lights weren't on, they weren't going anywhere. They were driving like jackasses and blamed it on the civilians. No charges were filed, but still shenanigans were experienced.

And I have plenty of friends who are cops/first responders/soldiers--no issues with authority here. But unfortunately you have some that abuse their power.

That sucks that happened to you man, glad you're ok!

I am also undecided on the video card. I've always had NVIDIA and I am scared to try new things. Working on that in therapy.

Cheers and such.

Response to: Books: Making people dumber Posted May 5th, 2013 in General

Every one of my coworkers has read 50 shades of gray and I just absolutely refuse to. One of them tried to talk to me about the plot, basically that the guy is fine as hell and rich and well endowed but he can't get women kinky enough in real life so he has to look online.
Yeah because rich, hot, well endowed dudes can't ever find a woman!

Stupid ass premise for a book.

So a lot of them are automatically assuming I am a "prude" for not reading it. I want to tell them there is no way there is anything in that book I am unaware of or know about, as I am from the internet.

I read a ton, but on my phone, digital downloads. And I read really boring stuff, I won't lie. I read a lot of history, a lot of science (weather), a lot about health. If I do read fiction, I like dystopian fiction, the darker stuff. And I read comics and feel they are underrated. I am a Neil Gaiman fan and I adore Frank Miller.
