I'm not a really big fan of cookies and cream myself. Neither the chocolate or the cream taste is strong enough as far as I'm concerned. I like dark chocolate and hazlenuts much better, but if you're going to go for the chocolate and cream combination, why not go all out and with some great dark chocolate and Creme fraiche, or Ice Cream, or custard. Even a little vanilla ice cream with some hard chocolate on top can be very good if they chocolate is good enough. Of course that's just all personal preference.

Response to: Scottish independence Posted September 18th, 2014 in Politics

So it is about 5:00 pm right now in Scotland and the vote result will be declared, at least according to the BBC, between 6:30 and 7:30 am. Of course, if the vote isn't all that close it may be declared before that time.

Is anyone planning on staying up for the result?

For the Americas that will be anywhere from 4 to 8 hours behind, so we're talking about anywhere from 9 pm. to 2 am., which is kind of late depending on which side you fall on. For the Aussie and Asians we're talking about anywhere from 12pm to 4 pm. Most of Europe at least an hour ahead so I'm assuming they will just be up.

I rather go to the madhouse, because at least I have a better chance of not being raped or murdered in the madhouse. You also have greater freedom of movement in the madhouse.

Would you rather live in a world where there were no problems or live in a world where you rule?

Isn't the truth considered offensive by quite a lot of people, depending on what it is being described?

Nope, because I won't receive anything from you if I'm right anyway.

and I am right.
But since you are right there is no risk of making the bet, since you'll never have to pay up. If you have that much confidence in your position then I don't see why you should have any problem making the bet. You have nothing to lose.
a century is 100 years. why be concerned over a bet you wouldn't live to see the end of even if you WERE right lol
just coz im right doesnt mean other things aren't possible

With future advances in medical technology it is entirely possible that you could live to see the end of the century.

Also, if you believe that humans will be extinct by the end of the century, you are saying in effect that no other possibility is possible. You are also saying that nuclear war is inevitable and no other result is possible. The question is, are you confident enough in your statement to risk something substantial on it?

As far as I'm concerned neither result is inevitable. It's not as though you are betting that the sun will continue to exist in a hundred years. Both of those events are subject to a billion different factors. Almost no one has been able to predict the future with that kind of accuracy over that long a period of time. I mean hell, in 100 years we might have weapons 1,000 times more powerful than nuclear weapons. We could be on different planets or have moved undergrounds. Some new technology could completely change the balance, or a disease, or war, or philosophy or anything. How can you be so confident that your prediction will continue to hold true given that many changes? It's just not logical.

Response to: Mixed genders Football? Posted September 17th, 2014 in General

I don't think it would sell in the same way that all male Football is commercially lucrative. Of course, there's no way to know for sure without actually trying it on a major college for professional stage. I just have to wonder how many women would actually want to play professional football. After all, you need a fairly large group of people to field a professional team and I don't think there is the same sort of enthusiasm for playing professional football among women are there is among men.

So here's a nice big list of Medical Alert Systems, in case anyone is interested. Exoskeletons could be useful too, for the unusually frail.
