Well said, I appreciate all your efforts, but this isn't a flash club. You can always check in here with you progress but we've filled about 3 pages with nothing but flash talk.

I just heard the news about the forced name changes and I am outraged. I don't want to have to add crappy numbers at the end of my name. I can't believe that someone else has called themselves Sekhmet. Sekmet sounds the same, but it is not the proper spelling. My old name was the_great_gordini but that just sucks. Any ideas?

Thanks, I try to learn as much as I can. It's also useful to know all the names of the techniques, which can be hard for some people at first because they are all in Japanese.

Monocrom:
About the feet placement, they really discourage being flat footed because that it leaves you vulnerable towards throws to the rear. The balls of your feet provide stability in all derections while not limiting mobility. It may vary from sport to sport though. Also when I said that it was relatively new, that was compared to some that are thousands of years old.

I'm not sure that you got that quite right. Judo was invented by Jigoro Kano as a form of fitness training. He found that the existing martial arts of the day were too influenced by feudal age war tactics and were too deadly for practical use although he did inspire heavily on Ju-Jitsu. He founded the Kodokan judo club in 1882 so it is a relatively new martial art.

Hmm... I hate to deny someone with as many posts as you, but you really need to improve their quality. Lots of them are one worders and the vast majority are one liners. Try to add more to the topic and never reply just to say "seconded". Sorry for skipping you the first time though I probably wasn't Ops then.

Thats not the kind of thing that we do here in the Police Department. >:( I would never vote on a flash without watching it entirely first. I'm not to fond of the vote 5 and 0 thing either, all flash should be voted on fairly, that includes ratings 2 though 4.

Thats a good point, I never really thought of that. If a bad movie passes, it will be lost in the depths of Newgrounds anyways, so no harm is done. But if a good movie gets blammed, it is lost forever. It boggles the mind...

Not at all, we often joke about the legendary Judo chop but there is no such thing. One exeption though: Higher level black belt gradings require certain katas, many of which have non contact blacks and kicks. These are rarely praticed in regular training though.

I don't know what Tails' opinion on this is, but I'm not to fond of only stat posts and I don't think that mods are either. It's okay to let the club know of your progress, but you should keep that as a side note. These are not the only ones I have seen either. Just be careful next time.

I must admit I don't know too much about judo, can you explain to me what exactly you do it your art? (Perhaps just a quick rundown of how you fight?)

I always thought of Judo as less of a martial art and more like a Japanese form of wrestling. It's a grappling style and in competition, points are awarded based on how you throw your opponent on the mat. If he falls flat on his back with force, it's called Ippon and it's an instant win. A fight can also be won by pin or submission, although only chokes and armlocks are allowed. It has it's roots with Ju-Jitsu but the japanese tranlation of Judo is "the gentle way" so no moves are meant to kill of injure.

I wouldn't expect the good ones to be made on the same day as the event. They should get even better in the next few days. I am impressed though at the quality that some artists can achieve after only two days of work. It is also possibel though that someone make a flash ahead of time predicting that this sort of thing was inevitable. Not to be insensitive, but it was bound to happen.

-Sekhmet- here, Unit Ops for the NGPD. I may be a day or two late, but I have decided to join this club thanks to -Cole- (Sent me a PM) and the alliance between our respective clubs. I am not very familiar with the rules of this club, but I understand that I am supposed to chose a section to defend. Am I right about this? I look foward to meeting you all.

*Salutes*

What do you mean it never gets updated? Tails and more recently me, update it all the time. Untill about a week ago it was full of inactive members but we had a PM campaign that cleaned it up. Have you noticed that -fremen13- just happens to be on the list?

Check out the member list here. Most members are just regulars but if you help out with the club you can be given an extra title. The two members who can admit newcomers are TailsPrower and myself, Tails being higher ranking than me.

PS Thanks for the invite to the martial arts club, I have decided to go join.

Looks good to me. You have many short posts but none of them are spammy in the least. Between your 1100 posts I think you have enough good ones. You will now be added to the member list as an apprentice and if you are active for the next week you will become a regular member. Welcome abord!

Hello all, not really on topic but I just got back from my first day as a senior. It should be a good year I expect. Between school, work and at least five Judo classes a week, I may not have as much time to stay active but I will be sure to post every day and at least get my points. How is everyone elses schedules?
